I received a gift , that was purchased at Barnes and Noble that surpassed any book I have ever read. It is titled The Boy, the Mole, the fox and the Horse, by Charlie Mackery. It is by far the most ingenious book ever written,it sends a message that can apply to everyone. It is a very short book and can be read in an hour..Not sure if it was appropriate to review on Yelp, but this deserves a shout out read more

I called prior to driving there to see if they had a book that I wanted. Whoever pick up the phone answered and then put me on hold for "a minute" which turned out be over 15 mins so I hung up. So I drove there and went to the service desk and the girl there made me wait until she was finished reading something before she assisted me. Ends up they didn't have the book! So I just ordered it from Amazon. This is probably the 3rd time this has happened. read more

I came on a Thursday afternoon and was surprised by how busy it was. I came to this location looking for a book that the one in Boca didn't have. I honestly didn't think I'd have much luck, but any reason to go to a bookstore, right? To my surprise, they had it! I was elated. Also, they had a buy two, get one free table as the other locations usually have, but this one was stocked with other books, and in my opinion, a better selection. I left with six books! My bibliophile, English-teacher, nerdy-self was thrilled. The line was wrapping around the queue area, and the sales associate waiting a long time to call for backup. It's been a while since I've stepped foot inside of a Barnes & Nobles since the one in downtown West Palm Beach closed. Congress Middle School held a summer book fundraiser and I was excited to attend in support. My first impression was that this establishment smelled fantastic, looked clean & organized, & was fully staffed. As soon as you step inside you are met by the smell of fresh baked cookies and coffee. The cafe inside Barnes & Nobles offers a variety of coffees, teas & other signature beverages alongside its baked goods. I had a chocolate chip cookie that was warm, soft, & oozed chocolate in each bite. I needed a moment to sit & enjoy it all. As I browsed the various sections within the store it stuck out how clean & organized everything was. Even in the kids section, toys, books, & other novelties were in their rightful place & neat. I did not see trash or waste left on the floor, in corners, or on any shelves. We all know it can be frustrating to need assistance & not be able to find someone to help. I was greeted at least four times and offered help each of those times. Every section had an employee somewhere within reach & each desk was manned & not left unattended. I am strongly considering signing up for a membership & utilizing all the benefits & perks Barnes & Nobles has to offer. read more

This particular B&N is one of the last remaining, large-scale, retail bookstores in at least central PBC, with the one that was in Downtown West Palm shutting down a couple of years ago. Granted there are smaller stores scattered throughout the county. But not long ago, there were a few of these located everywhere in South Florida, until the advent of Amazon and other online outlets caused many to shut down. Fortunately, this one is still up and running, and still offer a nice variety of fictional novels, non-fiction, books in a variety of different genres and subjects. With plenty of parking in the plaza located directly south of Boynton Beach Mall, B&N was a good spot for me to purchase other types of items from stationary to greeting cards, as well as card games, puzzles, as well as the occasional CD or DVD -- although the latter is rarity nowadays. Additionally, they have a cafe to the left as you enter if you want to grab a coffee and pastry as you read, do work, contemplate existence. read more

This is always a fun place to go with family and friends. And in this B & N, they even have a giant chess set to play. They always have an excellent choice for kids books and its always fun to sit down and eat with them. I always like their iced skim cappuccino and my daughter always liked their pizza stuffed pretzels...so you can go and read and have a snack. It's worth it to be a member if you absolutely buy a lot of things here (10% off your purchases)- but otherwise you have to drink a lot of coffee to get your money's worth (The membership cost $25...Until 11/30, they had a special if you bought a membership, you got a coffee every month for 12 months free). read more

This B&N suffices the true lover of B&N. I'm a New Yorker, so I'm spoiled to sitting on the floors on cushions tucked away in the little nooks and crannies wtih people stepping over me and everyone is happy.... Guess what!! Little WPB is well represented. It's never jammed (except for the starbucks line), very organized, great staff - seriously! And yes, they dont have this hublongous collection they have a great upstairs area where I find what I need... What brings it to a 4 stars is I've needed some rare books recently, they have found it when I called and held it for me at the desk. The fact that I wasnt sure between two titles by one author and the girl had both of them for me - was a courtesy - she ran to get those books. Great store. read more

I usually purchase my books online as prices are much lower than the store. However, sometimes it's fun to peruse the actual selections, clearance and preview magazines. Speaking of.... there's way too many people looking, but not buying. I feel like the bookstores have become libraries with the newest materials. Don't really know how the "brick n mortar" makes a profit. The Starbucks only encourages "lookers" not buyers. Either way, it's a nice clean store... minus the creepy pests seated in front of the magazines. Not setup to sell magazines, only to read them. However, there is never too long of a wait in line for a purchase. read more

Almost always have the book(s) I'm looking for in stock as well as other tools, resources to enhance your reading experience! One of the pluses here: you can call ahead, find out if the book is available and have it reserved at the front counter for the next 3 days. Makes it quite efficient if you're in a hurry! read more

Sometimes I come here to de-stress and read some magazines. They have a really good magazine selection (hundreds) and the employees don't bother you about it. Unfortunately a lot of other people do this too so it is hard to get a seat (they have about six wooden chairs in the magazine area). This magazine section also attracts some weird people with BO problems. These eccentric people are the the type who have the most random collections or build sprawling dioramas. Barnes and noble should interview some of these people and make a compilation book because I bet they have neat stories or savant abilities. Very rarely (especially since I have Amazon Prime) I will browse and buy a book. The books are split by category and it's fun to browse even though you get taco neck syndrome. The average price of a book is like $15 - high in my opinion compared to Amazon. The employees are friendly and helpful. The bathroom is not the cleanest - but usable in emergencies. I don't see a good future for B&N with it's current strategies. If the high brass is reading this I suggest you come up with some more creative monetization. A few idea: 1) Pay fees to read unlimited magazines - either per visit or per month. This will get money and keep out the people with BO. 2) Rent books - Pay a fee to read book and bring it back in good condition. 3) An "Amazon Prime" type club where you pay a year free and get free crap or upgrades. They need to incentivize people coming here instead of shopping online. read more

I love this location. Somewhat busy, but the atmosphere is great for studying. Everyone is studying, reading, or something productive. There are few older citizen that play cards and gossip. The Starbucks in B&N is a fundamental part of the establishment. I spend most of my time at the Starbucks. It's a typical B&N with variety or books and sections. read more

Management has some real issues, I returned a few items no problem. Harley was great handled everything alright as soon as he called for a over ride from the female manager btw she said hello and was very nice. I then saw the store manager I think his name was Alexandra he walked up with a single sheet of paper that says BOLO ( be on the look out) don't know how but he thinks I'm that person whatever doesn't matter anymore cause I'll go to the one in boca raton from now on. I even said hello to him but he ignored me so I didn't bother just got my refund and left. I've been coming to this establishment since I was in high school in 2006.I've been in retail for a very long time and I never made assumptions even when I was a manger. He should be documented and demoted for starters. read more

I came here last Saturday around 11am looking for some items. I was able to find them pretty easiliy and the store was nice and clean. But the line was ridiculous and they only had 1 person working the register. From the moment I walked in, until I stepped into the line to pay for my items it was about 30 mins that I spent looking for stuff. I spent another 30 mins waiting in the line because they only had 1 guy working the register. Granted he was a nice guy, but him stopping to upsell the membership to every person was annoying. It was only after I was finishing pay that a manager finally got more registers to open up. Why not do it from the get go? read more

I love this B&N. It has a Starbucks inside which seems to be slightly cheaper than the Starbucks across the street on Boynton Beach Blvd next to Vitamin Shoppe. It is smaller than the B&N on Glades in Boca, but the baristas at Starbucks and employees at B&N in Boynton definitely pay attention to your needs. They seem to have complete collections of books of my favorite authors. I love coming here whenever I need a boost of creative inspiration. I just wish they had these kiosks to help you find or figure out what book you want to get inside like the B&N does in Boca. Oh well...... read more

My 9 year old and I visit on a weekly basis. I'm appalled that the route between the Cafe, which we also frequent, and the Children's section contains the pornographic and unavoidable-to-the-eye "Personal Growth & Development: Relationships" section, containing book covers with provocative titles, such as "F*CKED" and "Wildest Sex Games," as well as graphic illustrations of partial nudity. Why? I applaud the store's efforts of promoting literacy and learning to our youth, but I equally lament the poor placement of this section. Is there no other location within the store where this could be placed? As a parent, woman, and educator of youth, I find this despicable. I know sex sells, but find another spot for this trash--not in the pathway of our children. Two stars for the friendly staff and availability of children's literature; three off until they relocate that section. read more

I have a new addiction these days... table top games. Not the older games we all played growing up, such as Monopoly, Yahtzee, etc... but the newer wave of extremely clever, well-designed, creative, and wonderfully-themed games like King Of Tokyo, Takenoko, Lords Of Waterdeep, etc. And man, Barnes & Noble has a pretty damn good selection of these. Sure, it may be a bit less expensive to find these online, but if you still like going to an actual store and browsing through all of the cool box artwork, then this is the best selection of table top games you'll find in Boynton. Of course, this location also has all of the other nice things you come to expect from Barnes & Noble in general... a decent, well-organized book selection, some great bargain finds, and friendly service. Their movie collection is lacking though. Almost every other Barnes & Noble I've been to trumps it. But other than that, it's always a pleasure coming here. read more

I have been to this store several times. It is a great place to shop for books, gifts etc. This Barnes and Noble compares to other ones that I have been to. They have all the books divided into sections. Its very organized once you find the section that you are looking for. The staff is also helpful if you get a little lost. Its a great place for gifts because they have so much more than just books. They also sell chocolate, board games both for adults and children as well as merchandise for popular books and movies such as the Hunger Games and Harry Potter. They also have calendars and planners. I like the kits that they have too that include kits to make sushi, cupcakes, crocheting etc. They also have children's kits too. Another nice thing about Barnes and Noble is they have a Starbucks cafe if you want to sit down and study or just have drink while flipping through books. read more

I've frequented this Barnes & Noble location for many years. With the welcomed addition of a Starbucks (note: this one isn't fully associated with Starbucks, so you can't use Sbux gift cards or Rewards cards here), I've found myself staying longer because I've been happily caffeinated. :) The vast selection of books sprawls through many varieties and (my personal favorite) the manga/graphic novel selection is VAST and generally well stocked. Last night I drove to this location to purchase books that my children needed for their required reading for school. I checked the inventory online and was told your store had them and the cost would be around $35. I went to the store and was told that the in-store price was not the discounted price because the stores have overhead costs. Why are your books online a "better" value than your books in the stores? Both places have overhead, utilities costs, shipping costs, etc. Allowing me to pick up my order in the store would have saved you the additional shipping cost. But NOOOOO, I was told in order to get them at the online price, I need to buy them online. RealIy? And then I was told I could save an additional $5 on my $54 purchase if I spend $25 for a yearly membership. So that's $79 to save $5. Or I could order with another vendor since you pissed me off for $33. Being admonished at the register that because I didn't buy a membership to save that $5 is not the way to make a customer feel. read more

As a complete lover of Books and Related Media, I cannot stress how much I love this store. It has been more than business for me. This particular location has been a personal sanctuary for multiple reasons over the past eleven years. The staff are more than friendly and helpful, the selection is not bad at all, the staff will be more than eager to order a title that you so desire that is not currently stocked, and the cafe area is an excellent place to relax and complete whatever task on your electronic device you need (even if the food served is not to my particular liking). Heck! Even the customers are lovely people on average. Given that B&N is one of the few remaining bookseller chains in this country only makes its presence that much more relevant. 5.2 Stars! read more

Also the staff is incredibly friendly; at this point, they know me by name because I am an avid reader (I easily finish 3 books a week), so this place is a haven of imagination for me. I have been coming here since they opened. My only complaints are that the amount of seating, other than the cafe, has been slowly shrinking to next to nothing. It's also been disappointing to see about 25% of the store turn into a toy store. I think their variety of books has suffered as a result. The number of books about bands and musicians is very small and is focused only on mega groups. read more
