Barnes and Noble has lots of options for books, magazines, music, and gifts- including vinyl records. B&N has an entrance inside Magnolia Mall as well as an outside one, but the entrance near the outside has the cafe and most of the seating. Most books are list price and B&N doesn't have weekly sales, but I saw tables of buy one get one free books- perfect for gift giving or keeping for yourself. If you're a passenger on a road trip on I-95, it's a great place to find reading material for the drive. In typical B&N fashion, the kids section is gorgeous and seems so magical- it makes me want to be a kid again and curl up and read. Barnes and Noble is a fun place to hang out and see what's new. It's the only large bookstore in town and one of the nicer stores in Magnolia Mall, so it's great that Florence has it. read more

Great customer service, and a very good selection! I had a book signing here, and will absolutely consider going back.

We visited the store through the Magnolia Mall entrance. Went to make our purchase and couldn't find an associate ANYWHERE! We made the alarm go off 5 times with our merchandise! NO ONE came! You could have robbed the store blind if you were a bad person. After 20 mins, we went to the back of the store (passing 3 EMPTY registers) to find 5 associates in the back corner sharing phone photos of their family. We stood there, waiting to be checked out. I can tell you EVERYTHING about their kids! They didn't acknowledge us, they looked AROUND us as if we weren't there! One left the group and walked AROUND us without saying a word! We put our merchandise down and left without purchasing ANYTHING! WE WILL NOT BE BACK! There were approximately 20 customers in the store with us without any assistance, some even waiting to be helped while the 4 associates were having their "Pow Wow" in the back corner! We made a special trip just to go to this store today to purchase vinyl records and it was a waste of time! RIDICULOUS! Maybe the associates will make time to restock all the merchandise left behind. read more

I am a regular customer at Barnes and Noble and mostly go to the cafe. The store itself is good. About a month ago I noticed a person who I think is the new cafe manager Karen or something. She seems very snarky, and unprofessional towards customers and employees. I would not have mentioned it if it had only happened once but its been multiple times now. Her drinks that she personally makes for some reason do not taste as good as the other employees. One time I saw her go directly in the back room when their was a line almost out the door. read more

I like to physically walk into book stores sometimes just to interact with the workers and maybe spot some good deals... Amazon isn't always the cheapest you know! With an in person purchase you also get the added benefit of instantly having your book. Yeah yeah yeah, I know with ebooks you get the same convenience, but some books I love having the physical copy. With all that said, I never really like Barnes & Noble, but this location had a friendly staff and I like that it's connected to the mall directly. Most locations I visit don't offer direct access to the mall. read more

It is refreshing to see that the art of the printed word is still alive and well. From calendars to CDs, to DVD to books, they were stacked. Many retailers are cutting back on pure inventory, but not this Barnes & Noble. The selection and recommended end shelves provided all your needs and spaced out very well. The cafe was of particular cleanliness and high quality including great selection and friendly staff. There is also the convenience of two entrances (external and mall). Overall, this spacious, well stocked and friendly Barnes & Noble made for an enjoyable visit and thankful there are still quality booksellers. read more

Books are going out of style and B&N is last bastion to our traditional intellectual arts. They sell books, magazine, and music plus a starbucks cafe--in case you were locked up in your digital cave and didn't know what they sold. I've always loved B&N stores---very consistent product, inventory, layout, and service in each of the Barnes and Nobles I've been to. Prices are usually retail but I feel they are still fair at that. You could join their "frequent buyer" club to get discounts. Do the world a favor and share a book with someone! read more
