My friend and I met here for our girls time. I love books, I love the smell of it, the vibe at bookstores and this spot delivered. Books were nearly put away, clean environment. We also grabbed lunch at the Starbucks inside and it was good. I would return here.

This is a great Barnes & Noble location. The store is very nice and large and had a built in Starbucks that is big enough to actually sit and enjoy coffee. The store has a full kids section and other sections. I love the variety available. The staff is very nice and friendly. I will definitely be back.

This place is huge with plenty of books section and with starbucks like other stores of B&N. Well clean and tidy store. Plenty of gift card options too. Only issue I noticed was number of cashiers. Just 1 at main entrance checkout counter. She was nice though but I wonder the chaos when customers are more. Probably it was due to late evening (around 8 pm).

Awesome bookstore. You can find mostly anything you would like. They have magazines, planners, & games. Came here because a friend got me a gift card for the cafe. Yes there's a cafe inside, with so many options to choose from, which I was surprised. The have cakes, cupcakes, cookies, sandwiches & soup. Also they serve Starbucks coffee. I love Starbucks but when I had one of theirs it tasted better then the original Starbucks store I go to. I got a caramel frappacino and so did my brother & he agreed that it was one of the best frappacinos he had. I tried one of their cheesecake but it was hard & yellow. Felt like it was there too long. It says it's a Cheesecake Factory brand but definitely didn't taste like one.

    Alyssa, best barista ever!

This review is for the Starbucks inside Barnes & Noble. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Alyssa. She was the barista who made my day. I had a question about the sweet cold foam cold brew, and she helped me figure out that it was not what I was feeling. Instead I got a Carmel macchiato with the foam. I told her the sweet cold foam was like a hug for your mouth. She was so pleasant and fantastic at her job it made me happy. I ended up looking at an issue of Juxtapose near the shop and I paid attention to the fact that it wasn't just me she was good to. Her customer service was stellar with every single person that walked up to her counter. She took care of everyone with love; her drinks were a reflection of her. My drink was probably one of the best drinks I've walked away with in a wile. It really hit a 10 on the it's so good it's stupid meter. I like a lot of ice, but not too much. I know you're thinking oh Lordy she's that girl, but my mom taught me it's ok to ask for things like you want them. It's ok to expect quality when purchasing an item, and that staff should have a respect for the products they pump out. Is that the case always? No, but today I found all of that and more with Alyssa. Not only was my drink stupid good, but I believe it was made with the most love ever. PS. I think it's important to say something when people do well at their jobs. PPS. Thanks Alyssa!

    Really clean and nice

Jackpot--they had exactly what I was looking for! First, I have to mention the book bar inside, First Draft. We didn't actually get a chance to go in, but I absolutely love the convenience of having a bookshop and bar together. And I especially love a good play on words, so if I'd had more time and hadn't had my teenager with me, I definitely would have checked it out! Anyway, I walked in and cut right to the chase, asking an employee where I could find the postcards. They pointed me in the right direction, and I found them immediately. We were on a bit of a time crunch, so I didn't get the chance to explore EVERYTHING they had, but I easily could have spent quite a while browsing the books, trinkets, gifts, and all the other fun things throughout the store. Then something caught my eye that I was SO excited about--the mini print vending machine! I had seen these on TikTok before, including ones in San Francisco, so finding one here was a really pleasant surprise. I dug around in my purse and managed to come up with enough quarters to get two prints. I absolutely loved the prints, and they made such a fun and affordable souvenir to bring home. It was one of those unexpected little finds that made the stop even better. My only complaint is that I didn't have more time to explore. I would have loved to browse the store longer and grab a drink at First Draft. Changing Hands is definitely a little gem in the Phoenix area, and I'm glad another store pointed me in their direction!

My sister and I had just visited their Tempe location and were delighted in how similar but different this Changing Hands was from Tempe's shop. Namely, this Changing Hands has a little area for coffee, booze, and bites. Just like the Tempe shop, they have an amazing selection of books and gift items and so much more. I find their prices to be so fair, especially for a fairly small indie bookshop--support small book sellers! We also loved that this shop has a tiny art print vending machine...think of the sticker machines from your childhood that traded quarters for stickers...but cooler!

When we arrived, I realized I remembered this spot from when I was a kid, I just hadn't been back since I was younger. This spot is absolutely STUFFED with books, comic books, VHS tapes and more. You could spend quite a long time wandering around looking at all of the books they have to offer. It can be slightly overwhelming especially if you are looking for something specific as there wasn't really any clear guidance on where to find certain sections. We still had a lot of fun though wandering around and seeing what we could find. If you are looking for the prices, they are written in pencil on the inside of the books. You can find a mixture of mostly used books along with some new books. They have a cute shop cat that you can sometimes spot wandering around, or asleep at the front. The woman who was working the register the day we visited was friendly! They also had a cart out-front with a number of books that were free to grab. There is plenty of parking out-front.

Once I was got to the store, I had to explore. I think that if one were to regularly visit Books, he/she would find some rare editions and other gems. Also, they had what looked like reproductions of banned book announcements posted around the store: all were of classic novels that we can't imagine not having access to as students. (See photos: Charlotte's Web, Huck Finn, Fahrenheit 451...) They were quite entertaining, in a disturbing way. They had the effect of making me feel so grateful that past efforts of censorship in the US had failed. In 2024, this is still a real threat. Tiny stores like this one are real treasures. Let's keep them in business.
