Pretty cool place and has a Starbucks inside, though their card reader was down yesterday so had to pay cash. They had some Spanish books for my wife including a really good one to help her learn English (Ingles) better. Had a couple places to sit and look at things. A few more sitting areas would be nice, but I understand you want people to buy and not sit around reading all day. Nice atmosphere lots of books as usual. read more

This is a great Barnes & Noble location. The store is very nice and large and had a built in Starbucks that is big enough to actually sit and enjoy coffee. The store has a full kids section and other sections. I love the variety available. The staff is very nice and friendly. I will definitely be back. read more

I feel compelled to enter any bookstore that comes within sight and this is one of my favorites. I usually have several books going at once and still keep buying more. I am addicted to cookbooks and they just do not "feel" the same or give the proper kitchen motivation on an e-reader. Consequently, they are multiplying rapidly in my home. The great thing about this store (besides the nice big Starbucks) is that I always find some little non-book item that either I can't live without or is absolutely perfect for someone else. I've already picked up several stocking stuffers. It's also a great place to find specialty magazines which make a lovely pick-me-up gift for someone recuperating. I also should point out that the staff here is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It's worth a visit. read more

I had some free time to kill and so I decided to check out this location since I'd never been in before. Parking lot is large and was easy to find a spot. Once inside I was greeted right away with a smile. The store was clean and held a Starbucks like most these days. Some of the shelves were empty, but I was able to find what interested me very easy. Awesome bookstore. You can find mostly anything you would like. They have magazines, planners, & games. Came here because a friend got me a gift card for the cafe. Yes there's a cafe inside, with so many options to choose from, which I was surprised. The have cakes, cupcakes, cookies, sandwiches & soup. Also they serve Starbucks coffee. I love Starbucks but when I had one of theirs it tasted better then the original Starbucks store I go to. I got a caramel frappacino and so did my brother & he agreed that it was one of the best frappacinos he had. I tried one of their cheesecake but it was hard & yellow. Felt like it was there too long. It says it's a Cheesecake Factory brand but definitely didn't taste like one. read more

This review is for the Starbucks inside Barnes & Noble. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Alyssa. She was the barista who made my day. I had a question about the sweet cold foam cold brew, and she helped me figure out that it was not what I was feeling. Instead I got a Carmel macchiato with the foam. I told her the sweet cold foam was like a hug for your mouth. She was so pleasant and fantastic at her job it made me happy. I ended up looking at an issue of Juxtapose near the shop and I paid attention to the fact that it wasn't just me she was good to. Her customer service was stellar with every single person that walked up to her counter. She took care of everyone with love; her drinks were a reflection of her. My drink was probably one of the best drinks I've walked away with in a wile. It really hit a 10 on the it's so good it's stupid meter. I like a lot of ice, but not too much. I know you're thinking oh Lordy she's that girl, but my mom taught me it's ok to ask for things like you want them. It's ok to expect quality when purchasing an item, and that staff should have a respect for the products they pump out. Is that the case always? No, but today I found all of that and more with Alyssa. Not only was my drink stupid good, but I believe it was made with the most love ever. PS. I will be very honest and I read all of my books and articles online but I do have young nieces and nephews that love to read books. This location has multiple weekly activities for them especially during the summer and school breaks. The store is always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful when you can fImd one that isn't helping someone else. P.S. Visited this store on Friday and couldn't believe they still had the filthy plastic screens up at the checkout counter. When I asked the employee why they were still up she literally said "I think my manager is too lazy to take them down." The plastic is so dirty you can barely see through them, just so disgusting and full of germs. If you want me to take my business online, I'll be happy to. Will not be returning. read more

We just got home from a trip to Barnes & Noble purchasing magazines. They are having a buy one get one 50% off. After selecting our magazines, they had just closed the 2nd register so we had to wait awhile for 4 people ahead of us on the only working register. By the time we got to the front, the guy who had shut down his register early said that we would be getting 50% off one magazine and 60% off another for the wait ( we were purchasing 5 magazines) when we got home we realized we did not. How disappointing and frustrating. Is it even worth the time and gas to have to drive there and complain. Ughhhh! read more

I Went into the store near closing hours and two employees did not want to serve us. We would've bought things at the location but there rude manners made us leave. If they didn't want us to come in the store they should've closed it earlier because this is bs. The two employees were too busy talking bad about us to another customer at checkout to give us some sort of respect and allow us to shop there. I love browsing Barnes and Noble. It is a little bit out of the way (much further north than I would prefer), but this location is amazing. The staff is super helpful without being overbearing. Received pick up notification for order. Went to pick up order and two associates could not find order. Spoke with manager, Kyle, and he said that order was canceled. He could not explain why I received an email that my order was ready or that I didn't receive a cancelation notice or call. He gave me a phone number for customer service (wrote it down) but it was the wrong number. I had books in hand to purchase with pick up but I will never buy from this location again. read more

I have always enjoyed browsing bookstores and this store is so welcoming. I especially like their large bargain section and the treats in the cafe. I also find it convenient that the back of the store is now filled with games for all ages. It has become my go-to location for buying gifts. I highly recommend grabbing a coffee and browsing this store but I think it'll be hard not to fill a basket with books and things. read more

The store is always tidy and peaceful whenever I visit. All of the associates are always friendly, whether I'm in the cafe or looking for a book. Despite these bizarre times, they're always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. This location never feels eerie because of what's going on. I typically frequent the Desert Ridge location since it's closer to where I live, but I'll often stop in to this location when in the area. It's a good, basic example of the franchise and I've frankly never had a bad experience here. The parking situation is definitely better than the mess that is Desert Ridge. The selection is always good and it's a very rare occasion when I walk out without something new to read. The staff has always been friendly, at least at the checkout; I haven't had much interaction with any associates on the floor but I tend to just go about my browsing without wanting any help anyway, so it's not much of an issue for me. I rarely, if ever, make use of the usual Starbuck's section so I can't really speak to those who complain about the quality of the fare or that they don't accept Starbucks cards. Though that is typical of most all such services located within stores: they are only offering Starbuck's-branded items and are not actual Starbuck's stores and as such are part of the store they're in. Anyway, overall I like this location quite a bit and when I'm in the Deer Valley area am usually going to make a stop in. Nice place. read more

The food here is flavorless and terrible! My son and I feel sick every time we have eaten it. The bathroom toilets look like they haven't been cleaned in a decade or so. Then there's a creepy guy working here who I think is a manager. I asked him about a coupon one day and he obviously didn't understand my question and was overbearing and persistent so I couldn't explain. Like gosh I musta been such an inconvenience to this idiot who acted like he hadn't talked to another human being before! So I just left. We had been shopping at other stores across the street and carpooled and left one car in front of B&N. when we came back the same guy was leaving the store and made a point to glare at us! read more

It is trying times and important to keep everyone safe. Unfortunately being part of the community that is unable to wear a mask due to medical reasons is very difficult. Every time our families try to have some normalcy during a pandemic is a very anxious outing for me and for people with a medical condition that prevents one from wearing a mask especially that isn't one everyone can see. We get discriminated against for the few times we try to go out so we are not forced to always remain home. Our kids wanted to do some Christmas shopping like normal Instead of just online and for others in our house so they don't see what they are getting them for Christmas. They have a sign out from like many stores but theirs says NO exceptions well according to our government medical conditions are the exception but not in this establishment. When going in an employee stoped is asking if I have a mask when I say I don't not as I have a medical condition and can not wear one he says I have to wear one in-order to shop I explain my condition prevents me from being able to wear one. he says he can get me a mask and can help me shop efficiently to make it quick which would be great if I had a choice to wear one or not but this not my case I declined again stating I can't not due to a medical condition and will not be shopping and thanked him for discriminating against my medical condition. I know he's keeping everyone safe and it's difficult but people like me need to be able to have some sense of normalcy here and there as well feel safe and comfortable in our outing experiences during these hard times and not fear joining our families for an outing as it is not our choice to be able to wear a mask or not and your policies should reflect this. This was a very disappointing experience because we all know finding the perfect gift is what makes the gift of giving magical and it is not the same online as it is finding that perfect treasure on the shelf. This does not reflect on the employee one bit as he was doing what he was told this is on the company not being inclusive of people with medical conditions that can not wear a mask. read more

I always love coming into Barnes & Noble. It is so peaceful and quiet and there is sucha large collection of books there. They also have movies, a coffee bar, and games. The only bad thing is that sometimes they don't have EVERY book you need which was my case and the employee stood around talking to another employee while I stood there watching/listening when I needed help. This is our favorite location by far...best bookstore in the valley. It is very large & has a full service Starbucks. The store is nicely laid out & unlike other mega size Barnes & Nobles we've tried, there is a tremendous variety here. Also unlike other locations we've tried, this one has the absolute best & most helpful customer service. This store is a little bit out of our way, but lately it's the only one we use. I never thought it could be done - customer service so mediocre that it turns me against a building housing thousands of books! The only thing brick and mortar booksellers have over the net is SERVICE. Ok, AND instant availability in hard copy but then again, I can instantly download so who needs a hard copy. Well, I do because I'm one of those types but I'd rather wait a month than give you a dime. Why? Dear Staff: When you scowl at me (if acknowledge me at all) and then answer the phone and go to look for that customer's item while I was waiting first, why...I'm outta there. This has happened more than once. Also - Heaven help the person who tries to return anything here. I'll barely wish upon this one star that you get it together because this isn't the first time you've disappointed me. It's a far drive to my "local" book seller but I'm willing to go the distance - something every employee should consider doing for each customer - especially the one standing right in front of her. read more

Do you people know that when you make a purchase at Barnes and Noble that, when you use your credit card at their stores you will be automatically charged for a membership running around $ 25.00 to $ 30.00 a month. You will not even notice it on your statements as it flys under the radar as BN on your credit card statement. I have only used their services about 3 times and have been milked for hundreds of dollars. I am mostly blind, so it is hard for me to see this on the statement. Also because of this i cannot read very well. My few purchases have been gifts for others. If I was an avid reader I might not mind the hundreds of dollars for nothing.
