I can't believe self respecting men will go to somewhere like Toni and Guy and pay 90 dollars to get a 19 year old apprentice off her face from last night to give them a fade when guys like this exist . Perhaps it is because they only remain perched on the rims of suburgatory , hidden away from the disaffected glare. You can get a beard shave , with a straight edge razor. You can get your head entirely scraped clean and rubbed to a fine shine. You can watch Jeremy Kyle and discuss whether or not it is real or scripted. This place is the reason men have hair. Mark was my stylist and he honestly rocked it :). I decided to add a handful of foils to my hair to give me a sun-kissed look and he was competitive with his prices for this as well. All stylists are generally senior cutters from large salons (think Serveilles, Stephen Mair, French Revolver or Toni & Guy) who charge only a fraction of the cost. The space is minimalist and stylish - with no fuss. Two locations at the moment - Auckland City or Eden Terrace. Staff are friendly & engaging: speak to you with interest, not a clone. If in need of a haircut my boyfriend is always sure to come here as this is one of the best barbers he believes he has visited to date (I think he always comes out with a great, clean and tidy hair cut). Occasionally they will use a switch blade to tidy up the edges, and finish it off with a spray of cologne. Located in the heart of Dominion road, there is easy street parking around the corner on Rockland's Ave. They do not have a website and are quite hard to find information about online, but take our word from experience.

Based on this, I'm highly recommending this Mt Eden barber shop. New Way Barbers is in the 8 Nugent complex and must already get a lot of patronage from local businessmen and from the gym across the way. Based on the handsome new look Bald Eagles from the Shave for a Cure event, I can also imagine men come from far and wide to use their services. The barber shop has a masculine feel, it's a place where a guy would feel comfortable getting a haircut. They are obviously Mohamed Ali fans because there is a lot of the famous boxers photography displayed on the walls. They have all of the essential guy hair products top.

And the guy wasn't unfriendly, although he was pretty much silent the whole time. Until it was time to pay, this is, and I got out my eftpos card, when he basically told me off for not having cash. Now I understand that there are costs involved with having eftpos in your shop, and if people pay in cash then that's ten dollars less you have to mention to the IRD, but actually none of that is my problem. You've got eftpos in your shop, I want to pay by eftpos, that should be fine. There's no way to justify making me feel like a dick about it. However, I went past here the other day and there was another guy in there cutting hair. So whether the one I dealt with has left, or whether they have more than one barber, I don't know. But it's worth bearing in mind.
