I spoke to billing several times about my insurance and was assured I was paying $40 per visit and then all of a sudden I start seeing charges for $176 per visit posting to my account without my permission. I asked them to remove my card and they didn't. I removed it from the app and the charges just keep going through. They lied to me and then refuse to accept any accountability. I contacted AMEX and stopped payments above $40 and am going to do everything I can to make sure everyone knows they are liars who treat their customers like crap. Who on earth would pay $176 to have someone massage their injury for 15 min? I'm so pissed off. read more

Due to the nature of a past injury I come in every few months and Dr. Mahoney is great--very professional and kind, and always gives me as much as time as I need. She is also great about going over different treatment options that are an option. When she's running late staff check in to let you know she's on her way, and offer water if you're thirsty, and appreciate you for your patience. That goes a long way!! I was recently injured while out of town on business and was referred to this group by my primary care doctor. They have multiple offices including Schaumburg, Elk Grove Village, Bartlett and this Buffalo Grove location. Allow me to tell you now that the Buffalo Grove location, while easy to get to, is a pain to get home from (to Schaumburg) during rush hour. Do not try it. Period. My M.D. referred me to Dr. Patel for an ankle injury and Dr. Nourbash for my shoulder injury. During my call to make my appointment, the woman on the phone, whom was very helpful, by the way, informed me that it's hard to find a time when both of these doctors are in the same place at the same time and could see me both on the same day. With that being said, and my doctor telling me that anyone in their group would be good to see, I asked for a doc that could see me for both my injuries. Dr. Rotstein was the guy. I jumped online to see their website www.barringtonortho.com (interesting name since none of their locations are actually in Barrington) and was able to read up on each doctor. I learned that Dr. Rotstein went to University of Michigan and if you know me at all, you know that I'm married to a hardcore Michigan fan! Go BLUE!!! So that made me feel a little more comfortable going to see someone I have never met before. I'm very picky about my doctors and extremely loyal when I find one I'm comfortable with and trust, so I was hopeful that this experience may help me find a new doctor that I could have that relationship with. I went to see this specialist, not knowing what to expect and found myself pleasantly surprised with the staff. The lovely women at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. I'm in some serious pain right now so dealing with nice people is just what this patient was needing. Thanks, ladies! The office building seemed to be a good size. It was clean and very well maintained. Dr. O'Sullivan was first to come in to see me and he was AWESOME. Incredible bedside manner, excellent personality and I could just tell that he cared. Although he poked at my injuries and made me cry, he definitely was as gentle as he could have been for what he needed to do. He kept apologizing for hurting me but he had to examine me fully....I totally understood, although, truth be told, I kinda disliked him in the moments he was hurting me. The Xray tech that took my beautiful photos of me in some lovely positions was professional and handled me with care!! She chatted with me a little but mostly did what she could to get me in and out so that I could go back to my exam room where I was much more comfortable. When the doctor came in, he was professional and straight to the point. I never got a chance to tell him that I read his profile on their site and was happy to see he went to a decent school but hey, I wasn't there to make friends. Dr. O'Sullivan returned to my exam room to fit me for my new sexy boot that he informed me I could bedazzle if I wanted to (yes, I'm thinking about it!!) and gave me some instructions as to how to proceed. We talked about how is best for me to get around and at this point, they are keeping me on the lovely crutches that I absolutely hate but since I can't put weight on my foot, this is pretty much my option. Would I go back? Yes, I have to in 2 weeks. Would I go to this office? Not if I can avoid it...it's not convenient for me at all. If Dr. O'Sullivan is only available at this office, then I may consider it. Overall, I had a good experience. Dr. O'Sullivan totally earned the 3 of my 4 stars and the office staff and Dr. Rotstein earned my 4th star. See you all in a few weeks! read more

Poor review solely for the terrible experience we had scheduling a surgery for our daughter. Dr Bernstein was great and we'd love to have him perform the surgery, but he does not perform morning surgeries so we'd have to torture our 3 yo by making her fast until 1 in the afternoon. When we called to schedule and found this out, the scheduler said she would work on moving his day around and getting her in for a first thing in the AM appointment and get back to me. That was two months ago. After leaving multiple messages for her, I finally got a hold of her today and she now has amnesia about the whole thing, saying it wasn't possible to do and she wouldn't have offered to do that. She then blamed me for misunderstanding (I did not, it was perfectly clear what she was supposed to do and i have notes from our initial call on it). Meanwhile, we have now lost 2 months and could have been working with a different doctor if she had not promised me she would work with us to schedule a morning surgery. Incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with a lack of professionalism. read more

I have seen the light! Now that I've actually been to another physical therapist at a different company, I realize the 'therapy' I received at Barrington Orthopedics is both laughable and scary. They never gave me an assessment of any kind. The physical therapist here just started working on me immediately. I now know that this is unsafe. The equipment is all old, dirty & run down. They have those 80's looking "motivational" posters on the walls. While my therapist was a nice person, the other employees were slightly rude & unprofessional, and pretty much everything about this place is totally sub par now that I have something to compare it to. Avoid. There are *much* better places in the area to go to for physical therapy. read more

While I did like my doctor waiting more than an hour for him with scheduled appointments got old. Waiting 20 minutes on the phone to make an appointment got old. Waiting 25 minutes for a scheduled MRI got old. The general administration and they way thus business is run is a disaster and will unfortunately made me find a new doctor at a different practice. read more

I scheduled my visit to Dr n. Patel about 2 weeks in advance.( At the time that was first appointment available) I arrived 15 min before my appointment and was told that my appointment has been cancelled, because my phone is disconnected and they could not reach me. Person who took my information initially did not bother to make sure she had all the info correct. Everyone makes mistakes, but she could make sure that she had correct number before letting me go. 2nd problem I was told that "Dr Patel CALLED OFF for today". Must be nice. I took day off from work, waited 2 weeks for appointment, drove in traffic hour to see this Dr for my swollen ankle. I don't know if I have a blood clot there, problem with my ankle or vital organ? They insisted doing an x-ray of my lower back even though I repeatedly insisted that the pain was not in my lower back but in my ribs. He looked at the x-ray and said I looked fine. I explained that the pain was higher than the x-ray showed but he didn't care. I felt like a number and not a patient. read more

I was referred here from an E.R. visit to a local hospital. I called to make an appointment to see if my hand injury was ligament-related, as the E.R. doctor said no bones were broken. The doctor's office was beyond rude. I showed up 5 minutes late because a delivery truck was parked in their lot entrance and I had to park two blocks down. When I came in I was told my appointment was cancelled because I was a "no show." I know why now. They were "forced" to see me because their practice was on-call for the hospital the day I had to go to the E.R. I recently had to go on medicaid as I lost my job. I was treated like the plague. I had a two dollar co-pay, which I was happy to pay. They said they didn't have change for a 20 dollar bill and I had to walk across the street to a Culver's to get change. After waiting 30 minutes in a room that was so hot I almost passed out, a PA finally came in. She was beyond rude. She took off the splint that was put on by the E.R. and excused herself. The doctor came in 20 minutes later and told me that I had arthritis!! He then told me I could buy a hand splint at Walgreen's, but that I had to pay for it. Fine, but could they have maybe replaced what THEY took off my arm that WAS helping me?????? I was escorted out quickly, no follow-up scheduled, nothing!! After a few days of my hand swelling and increased pain another doctor finally made an accurate diagnosis: A tear in the ligament to my thumb.
