    Gorgeous!

Oh my Dionysus, I love this winery! From the beautifully successful efforts placemaking in an industrial location, to the kind and educated and casual but extraordinarily friendly wine staff, to the excellent local art gallery, to the top-notch wine, Barrister has set the bar as my favorite winery in Spokane. Tried a flied that was polished off with their award-winning Petit Verdot -- my personal favorite! Highly recommend this and the Cabernet Sauvignon. Th staff were great and greeted every customer who walked in the door with warm smiles and a homey familiarity, but more so every customer who came in was friendly and fun to chat with. Like attracts like! Loved it and can't wait to come back again. More than great wine, Barrister is a great experience.

Great tasting room. Wonderful staff. Big bold reds. They even offered a tour of their wine cellar. Enjoyed our visit here.

Was able to get in, get wine and sit down as quickly as I desired (I was caught up in a fun conversation about the production happening just behind the counter as my tasting was being poured). We arrived an hour before closing, and being unseasonably warm in October, decided to sit on the upper outdoor seats across the parking lot. Adirondack chairs around wooden tables; which the tables are not level being tree stumps, but they are cute. This area looks to get afternoon sun to the west as I could see sun shading towards the direction of the sunset. The local deer were walking up pretty close to nibble on the adjacent plum trees so that was fun to watch and listen to their communication snorts. Excellent friendly Knowledgeable staff. I was invited to come behind the counter and see the fermentation stages being done. We didn't stay more than one round as we had plans for dinner but I will definitely be back.

They are a smaller local winery they immediately excel at making you feel at home and part of the family. They only had 4 wines for tasting purposes when I was there. The rose was the star of the tasting, but they were all beautifully done and interesting. I'm more of a red fan and they won me over with their Rose. I can't wait to see more from them.

Standard flight of wine was a bit expensive, but they let you apply the full amount to a wine purchase. Pretty good deal. They have a special room, fairly empty, for wine club members. Service was good. Low key. Not pushy. Maybe not super knowledgeable either. If we lived in Spokane, we would probably be members.

However, my recent experience was frustrating because my party and I were cut off for being "drunk" before we had consumed any alcohol at all. We arrived at the restaurant and, after receiving a Guest Flight (tasters) but before tasting, staff determined that we were intoxicated and refused alcohol service. The problem is that none of us had been drinking. Being incorrectly labeled as drunk was both embarrassing and disappointing. What bothered me most was the apparent lack of effort to verify the situation or have a conversation with us before making that determination. A simple discussion could have cleared up the misunderstanding. Instead, assumptions were made, and we were treated accordingly. I appreciate that servers and managers have a difficult job and must make judgment calls to ensure safety and comply with liquor laws. In this case, though, the judgment was wrong, and the experience left us feeling unfairly judged and unwelcome. I am sharing this review not because I oppose responsible alcohol service, but because I believe customers should be treated with fairness and respect. I hope management uses this as a training opportunity to help staff better assess situations before labeling patrons as intoxicated when they have not consumed any alcohol. Even other patrons sitting around us commented on how ridiculous and out of line your service to us was. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I do not recommend this restaurant.
