I told him I would pay in cash once the services were completed. The day of the job two electricians showed up expecting to work four hours. When it only took one guy barely 90 minutes to complete the job they tried to charge us for the full four hours! My husband refused and was able to get somewhat of a lower price- which was still a gross overcharge for the job that was actually completed. I was told over the phone that labor would be $90/hr. The invoice states that we needed $60 in parts. That should be a total of $195, we were still charge over $300!!!! Now I know why they wanted my credit card in the first place -so they could be assured to get $400 whether they earned it or not. What a scam. (This was the Fort Wayne location of this business).

I had no concerns about buying this car sight unseen because of John's thorough inspection and deep knowledge. John quickly responded to my email asking for information about an inspection and when we decided to move forward, he quickly scheduled a call with me to understand my objectives for the purchase. After that call he scheduled the trip for a few days later. John must have spent 4+ hours with the car and his inspection included a drive and engine pressure test.  John called me during his drive home to give me a quick preview of what he found. Less than 24 hours later, I received a 12 page written report with 18 sections, each with easy to understand commentary and ratings. Additionally, he provided over an hour and 15 minutes of video with commentary and nearly 400 photos. Especially with the  video commentary, I felt like I was under the car and in the engine bay with John. After I reviewed the full report, John spent 45 minutes on the phone with me walking me through all of his findings. What I really respected about John was his knowledge of classic cars. What I really appreciated about John was his thoroughness and how he always kept my goal of wanting a mechanically solid driver we could enjoy on cruise nights and runs to the ice cream store, not a trailer queen classic, top of mind in our discussion. John was also kind and friendly during the entire process. I highly recommend John's inspection services and would hire him again if I was buying another classic car.

He spent almost 4 hours with the car - and then additional time preparing the report that I got on a holiday weekend. He helped me understand the report - and make the decision to continue my search. He helped me find other cars available and make informed decisions and ultimately I found the best car at the best price in the cleanest and original condition. They always took time to tweak my computer design mistakes (being a neophyte these tended to be legion...) and carefully usher me through the process, even when we were working with time-sensitive materials.
