Beyond amazing work, awesome people to deal with. This is the second bad car accident I had where the person didn't have insurance. Barrys absolutely rebuilt my car better then when I even bought it. As a now traveling healthcare worker, I needed a rental they even helped me with that. Some of the negative reviews kinda boggle the mind with the price changed from the estimate. As someone who grew in the auto business as a shop girl for my dad's place, there are normally always unforeseen repairs needed that can't be seen at the time of an estimate till the car is actually torn apart for repair. I had a very minor repair needed for my drivers door. Wasn't something to put through insurance, it probably happened in a parking lot, but it always bothered me. I called and they asked if I could bring it in so they could see it in person I stopped. They gave me a couple suggestions. I picked what fit my budget. I had Barry's repair my car after a recent crash. They are the only place I will take my vehicles to be repaired! Their customer service is exceptional and the repair technicians are suburb. No matter how difficult they will go above and beyond to make the vehicle perfect. My vehicle's paint was very difficult to replicate and they spent countless time making sure it was a perfect paint match and they would not settle for anything but perfection! My Honda Civic's rear driver side quarter panel was smashed in while parked. Barry's Paint Shop is one of the few repair facilities recommended by Honda so I decided to repair my car there. Overall: The customer service and quality of work at Barry's paint shop is fantastic. You can trust Barry's to make your repair experience as easy as possible and that your repair will be done to the highest standards in the industry. Pros: All of the people I spoke to at Barry's were extremely nice and very helpful. Barry's worked with my insurance company and Enterprise to ensure that my rental car was ready when I needed it and kept me aware of the repair process. Barry's took special care to ensure that the paint match was perfect on the repair and wash, waxed, and detailed my car before I picked it up. Cons: It is clear that Barry's is a highly regarded repair facility based on how busy they are. Unfortunately, this also means Barry's might not be able to repair your car immediately after your accident. Barry's wasn't able to schedule my repair until two weeks after the accident (although I think I imagine they would have worked on it sooner if it weren't drivable). Also, because Barry's wanted to make sure my repair was perfect, the repair took an additional week than what was originally projected due to some initial issues with the color matching on the paint. read more

I recently had repair work done on my 2014 Ford Focus hatchback after getting rear-ended. I stopped in to get an estimate done by Wendell, and he was very friendly and helpful. He even took the time to give me an additional estimate for some other damage that was unrelated to the accident. The estimate said that my car would be at the shop for 4 business days, and it was done in exactly that much time. I received a daily status update email stating what stage of work was being done (disassembly, repair, paint, etc). I was able to pick up and drop off my rental car onsite as well. Once I went to pick the car up, they had washed it and vacuumed and detailed the interior as well. The work came out fantastic and I was very pleased with the paint matching, as my car is tuxedo black, which has a lot of metallic in it (it sparkles with bits of red and green in bright sunlight), so I was definitely impressed with how well the work came out, given the color. I have always heard nothing but great things about Barry's and am happy to say it was all 100% accurate. I would definitely go to Barry's again (well, hopefully I won't need to lol). read more

Frustrating and incompetent. Review is based on an improperly performed estimate. After a week delay, they gave me an incorrect/incomplete preliminary estimate, which was approved by insurance. They then revised the estimate by almost 20% without my knowledge, which ended up pushing the repair cost to a total loss. All communication was slow and difficult, at best. I would not have been as upset if the original estimate had accurately taken everything into account. If not for the general mismanagement of the entire process, I would have suspected the shop of attempting to bilk the insurance policy after payment had already been approved. The disorganization and general failure of the shop to perform in a professional, accountable manner, however, lead me to believe that their unacceptable performance was not rooted in malice, but rather in incompetence. read more

So it was the day before Christmas Eve. I got off my shift at 11 at the hospital. After picking up my son about halfway home my car started making unusual vibrations. I pulled over into the bank across from sonic in Akron. My tire had gone flat. Stupidly I didn't renew my Triple a membership. It was almost midnight, my son was in the car, I didn't have time to break out the yellow pages. I had been to Barry's acouple years ago so I called them. They are over in Ephrata up the road from redners. They picked up my car and took it back to their lot. $225 towing fee. Plus $75 dollars for a new tire. My total came to $340. I'm guessing the extra was labor. Needless to say I will only use Barry's for an accident. I wouldn't recommend them for towing services. Kens auto service is in ephrata as well and I would HIGHLY recommend him. Kens is run by a veteran and is honest and trustworthy. P.s. I'd recommend putting towing costs on your website. Barry's Paint Shop is a great place to fix your car when bad things happen to it. I've been there a few times over about 15 years now, with more than one car, and they've always made things right. They warranty their work, so in the rare event something isn't quite the way it should be, they'll take care of it, no hassle. Walking in the door at Barry's is an experience all by itself. The folks at that front desk see people every day who just had a bad experience, but they just smile and ask how they can help. Any bad mood one might have seems to melt away with this approach. Barry's works well with lots of insurance companies -- they even post ratings behind the desk. More often than not, you can get your insurance adjustment, rental car and repair in one stop by going to Barry's. My only suggestion would be to expand their customer service hours. For those of us who work during the day, 8-5 weekdays can make for a rush when trying to get there before they close. read more

I scraped the side of my car and was happy when two or three close friends recommended Barry's as a great place for body/paint work. After about five days in the shop, we got our car back and upon inspection at home there were paint bubbles from the paint dripping/drying. We took it back and they had us bring it in a few weeks later to fix their work. Upon picking up our car a second time and upon inspection of the same place, the paint bubbles were gone but there was now clearly a new scratch/area they had damaged in the process. Rather than disclosing it to us, they had simply tried to patch it up! Didn't even do the nice thing and buff it out/paint it or disclose it to us (so much for the golden rule they advertise on their website). They offered to have us bring it in for a THIRD time to fix their damage, but at that point, are we really to expect that they will do it right?? read more

I took my 2012 Nissan to Barry's for an estimate after being seriously side swiped in a parking lot. I was greeted by a very pleasant & professional receptionist, Emily. Darryl provided the estimate and reviewed each item with me. My car considered was not drivable for safety reasons. I was able to get a rental immediately and Wendall switched my grandson's car seat to the rental for me. Emily made the contacts to the insurance company and the rental car company to finalized all arrangements. The work was done in a timely manner and the repairs and paint job could not have been better. I was very pleased with the work and the help and kindness provided by Emily and her co-worker, Hannah. I then referred a friend to Barry's for a repair to her car. Not realizing the extent of repair needed, she could have been told an exaggerated cost but Darryl took the car to examine it on the lift and brought the car out in 15 minutes, completely repaired & touched up for an unbelievable low cost. Another testament to not only their work but also to their honesty. Barry's will always be my go to place for vehicle repair & body work. read more

In August of 2016 I was involved in a very minor fender bender that left the radiator in my 2013 Fiat cracked. I chose to have my car taken to Barry's Paint Shop as they were near my house and offered towing services. I waited for 2 weeks to hear from the shop and finally received a call that it was ready. I had my car back for less than 24 hours when it burst into flames and was destroyed. Fortunately, I was not in the car the time, but if I had been I doubt I would be here to write my story now. The car was consumed in a matter of minutes and the locks on the car malfunctioned because of the heat. I loved that car and was emotionally destroyed by this. After settling things with my insurance company I emailed the shop and requested they refund my deductible as I believe they are completely responsible for the loss of my car. However, I never received a response. If you care about your car do not take it to Barry's Paint Shop. Clearly they are not well trained mechanics and they do not care about their customers. read more

Used Barry's Crap Shop a few years ago when my car was in a hit and run because I had used them several years prior and the work was good. However, when my car was finished, the paint didn't completely match. Looked more silver than gold, there was a spot that wasn't even painted and they didn't paint the bottom to match the other side. The inside of my car was worse, yes, I said inside!! There were greasy finger prints all of the windows and doors. There also was long streaks of glue or grease on the back seats. My trim from my windows was coming off. When I told them about this, the manager(I think his name was Daryl Stolsfus) told me, "well, it is an old car" and looked at me like I was seeing things when I pointed out the poor paint job. I immediately replied back that, that didn't matter and this is not how my car was when I brought it to them and the paint job was clearly inadequate. I also told them not to roll down my driver side window as you can't get it back up but they did and then I couldn't get it back up. I had to have them replace the motor and that was an extra expense for me, NOT them not to mention an extra 3 hour wait.OK, so I took the car home and we had some rain. Next thing you know, my trunk is flooded! The didn't replace the gasket/lining that seals the trunk when you close it. Took it back but they fixed it with a used one that had full slices in it from where they removed it from another car to re-use it on mine! Guess they were trying to save some money.I had contemplated about leaving such a bad review but after my car was recently hit in a parking lot in the same spot and I took it for an estimate at a good repair shop they right away could tell me it was previously hit in the same spot because the paint was a different color than the rest of the car, the was a spot not painted and the under part didn't match the other side. Grrr.....Barry's Crap Shop, I should have made you do the repair over. Just remember this, Word of mouth is faster than advertising! read more

Vehicle was there from April 6 till April 17th. A turkey hit my vehicle so fender, hood, light and bumper need repaired or replaced. Paid deductible and got my key and let them know I would be back for the vehicle later in the evening. No one at any time went over my car with me or the repairs that were done. Nothing lines ups and is completely off. Paid extra for them to fix the chips on my bumper that were not part of initial repair and are still there. Not happy with all the bubbles and dirty in the paint either. Plus moldings were damaged, blending is horrible and over spray on windows. They washed the vehicle however still dirt streaks on car and so type of compound all over it. Very dissatisfied and will never recommend or do business here again. Waste of my money to have them fix something and they do a horrible job. Should have never had them refinish whole bumper and it still looks like crap. Don't go here. read more

I took my two work trucks there after the Reading hail storm. I took it there because of the lifetime warranty....they are work trucks and I plan to have them there for awhile. The finished product I was completely happy with. The one thing that bothered me was the lack of communication with them on delays. These are WORK trucks and I had to rent a car to drive until I got our trucks back so it wouldve been nice to hear from them concerning the delays vs me calling them when the original and then modified dates came and went. I understand things can delay the finished product once they tear into it but still.....I had to rent my car for an extra week and a half and I had to keep calling them for updates after they said it would be done. I loved our trucks after they were repaired but I would think twice about taking them there again. Now a second car or project I wouldnt hesitate to give them if i werent relying on it everyday.
