If I could give zero, I would. First of all, the line for the pharmacy got to the point where it was half down two isles. Waiting for 20 minutes to ask for something behind the counter because it wasn't available on the floor. Once reaching the counter, I asked one of the pharmacist for the item I was needing and I was met with lack of basic human decency. Man stood there and proceeded to loudly announce that he can not get me the item I need because it violates his religious beliefs and I WILL NEED TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE. I understand if the item I am looking for doesn't line up with this man's religious beliefs. What I am appalled about is the absolute lack of customer service and medical care. My item was three feet away from him. I can not get that item without the service of the pharmacy. I was humiliated and was left emotionally distressed by this individual. I was refused medical care due to someone else's religious beliefs. Unacceptable. read more

Pharmacy only. Can I leave zero stars?? First they list my sons meningitis vaccine record. Then they got the vaccine dates wrong. Finally they failed to upload it to the stave vaccine site. For my daughters prescription I received a text to pick up. When I got here I was told it would be 2 hours. Two hours later there was line 16 people deep. Next day-same line. What the heck happened?? Rite-Aid happened. So transferred all my prescriptions to Costco. read more

I had my doctor send a prescription to Bartell's instead of QFC because I was coming by for something else. When I arrived they were woefully understaffed and the line was down the aisle After a long way I finally got to the counter. When they produced the prescription it was over five times the cost of QFC. I have seen occasional deals on good RX but they usually are higher cost than alternatives. They are neither a service leader nor a price leader. They were a much better pharmacy when they were independently owned before they were bought out. It's a shame. read more

While I like that there is a QFC next door and Bellevue Square is across the street, I don't like this Bartell Drugs location very much. The downtown Bellevue location is old and small. It is difficult to find the food items on sale in the ad. There isn't an aisle that is fully dedicated to foodstuffs here meaning you will have to look through all of the special displays for the items you want. This store has two entrances, so there are two checkout areas near each entrance. Depending on how they are staffed, you might have to head to the checkout on the other side of the store. Parking is okay. There is a section of parking spaces devoted to Bartell. You can also park on the QFC side of the parking lot. I don't recommend this location, but it is fine if you are just here to pick up drugstore items. Though if you are willing to drive a little, the Bartell Drugs location near Uwajimaya is a bit better. I do have trouble finding stuff there sometimes too, but it is a bit bigger in size. Or go to my preferred location, the one at Crossroads which has a easy to figure layout and has recently been renovated. read more

I cam here to stock up on water and i needed to find some Aplets and Coblets. Being that it was summer, it was hard to find some, but i found some here. They do have a quick expiration date, it expires in Sept. The place is pretty clean, but the one cashier that worked on the day i was there, looked so grumpy. I know that everyone has their days, but man did he need an attitude adjustment. On the other days i went back to this place, i received excellent customer service. I do love how their candy and snack section has a lot of local items made in Washington. You can also buy some souvenirs here, so you don't have to to find a Made in Washington store. read more

This review is for the store only; I have not ever used the pharmacy here. I have always been a big Bartells fan, and I've been to this site perhaps 4-5 times in the past decade (it's just not close to my home or workplace). It's always been great, as the other Bartells are: I love the local merchandise they offer, I think their price points are more than reasonable, and I like the variety of items they sell. But this particular Bartells just BLOWS ME AWAY. They recently did a big renovation here and man, this is like the Taj Mahal of all Bartells! It's now difficult to go back to my local site, after experiencing this new store. First of all, this store is humongous; hands down, the largest Bartells I've ever been too. The pharmacy area is now more enclosed, large, and the best part: there are bathrooms for customers located in this area! There have been so many times where my kids or I needed a bathroom while at a Bartells, and we've always had to hunt down an employee to unlock a bathroom somewhere (usually an employee bathroom at that). Well, this site has large, new bathroom facilities for men and women. Finally! There is a super large food area, including refrigerated foods and specialty bakery items (like big, frosted Seahawks cookies!). And, get this: there is a soda fountain here! With a counter and bar stools and everything! I had a great latte here, and the overhead menu shows they make lots of different coffees, and they serve ice creams, too. How cool is that! The staff are present all around in case you need help finding something. And they are really helpful and nice. Great store, all around! read more

She went above and beyond to get the approval needed and worked late so that we could go home and start her medication immediately. Recently the pharmacy here has become very unresponsive and very unhelpful. Despite calling countless amounts of times during various days and times of days my call is never picked up. My doctors office faxed over a prescription 5 times and they claim to not have received even after many days. They do not provide updates when there are issues with your prescription being filled. They don't pick up the phone for doctors, customers, or other pharmacies. Take your business elsewhere or plan on spending lots of time going back and forth in person to get intermediate communication that should be delt with over a 5 min phone call. read more

To get as many people funneled through and always a wait, always inaccurate wait times on the phone and always some convoluted issue. It's difficult moving prescriptions for entire family however that's the next step. And BEWARE...they will close for lunch at 1:30 without telling those in line they are closing. The rudest employee at the photo booth. I came to take my passport photo and when it came time to take my photo, the employee told me I wasn't sitting right, he proceeded to take five minutes telling me how to correctly sit for a photo which I have done multiple times. He kept saying I was sitting weird and would make weird faces at me saying that's how I looked like and how I looked "weird". It was rude and completely unprofessional, he made me feel extremely uncomfortable to the point where I told him I didn't even want a photo, got up and left. Every month for the past three months they have told me that I didn't have a prescription for things I pickup monthly. I have had to call my doctors and every month it turns out they were wrong. The state needs to shut down this pharmacy. Prepare to make two or three or more trips before your prescription is filled. You cannot speak with a person by phone. Lines are long. There is a long wait to speak to a pharmacist. They shut down at various times throughout the day, not all announced, in a vain attempt to catch up. The area behind the counter appears extremely disorganized. The rest of the store is pretty pathetic, too, but it won't harm you in the same way that dispensing the incorrect medication might. read more

Pharmacy operation is a disaster. After 4 miserable and lengthy waits and several errors in filling prescriptions, I finally wrote to their customer feedback line to complain and tell them I was done. Got a call from the 'pharmacy manager' asking me to call back to address my incident. Called back and phone was answered with "can you hold a brief moment?" I said yes and am typing this review 15 minutes later still on hold. I have transferred all my scripts to another pharmacy and suggest you avoid this one and do as I have. It's painful to see seniors standing in line for 15-20 minutes while the 4-6 dysfunctional staff members ignore them. If you have a question about a medication or a prescription, you either have to leave a message and wait for a few days for a call back, or you have to make a trip there in person just to ask questions! We used to love Bartell drugs and took every opportunity to go in there and buy things. All of our prescriptions have been there for a long time. Now that Rite Aid took them over, they are absolutely horrible in customer service. Today the pharmacy told me I'd have to come back for a third time to get my prescription because they hadn't gotten around to it yet. This makes it two days since the first prescription was put in. Their phone system tells you it will be ready in an hour. Of course you don't speak to a human being on the phone. Nevertheless, I gave them six hours and they still did not have the prescription ready. There doesn't appear to be any management. I recently went to Bartells in downtown Bellevue this past July to get travel immunizations. It is really difficult to find clinics that will give immunizations for travel. My doctor at Swedish could not provide travel immunizations. The quality of the consultation that I received from Bartells was excellent. In fact, my experience was so good that I decided to move some of my prescriptions from Walgreens to Bartells. It's great to be able to support a local business. read more

I've had to change pharmacies because of the Rite Aid take over. This used to be a good pharmacy but no more. I took prescriptions here only to be told that I'd have to wait 3 days for the pharmacist to fill it. When my doctors send the prescriptions electronically I was told they would not check for prescriptions for a week. The service is poor, people are rude. Refusing to fill prescriptions for three days is unacceptable but is typical Rite Aid behavior. read more

My patient never picked up a postoperative prescription and told me this right after surgery. I called this Bartell pharmacy and the pharmacist or technician I spoke with told me that they re-stocked the medication since it was filled 16 days ago and not picked up. She had a poor attitude on the phone and was condescending. She said she could have the prescription ready in an hour. I asked if she had the patient's phone number and she said no. I asked if she wanted it and she declined, saying "we never call the patients when prescriptions are ready, because that'd be like 500 calls a day." So...here's a pharmacy that gives bad attitude to physicians and doesn't call patients to communicate AT ALL when prescriptions have been received, are ready, are about to be re-stocked, etc... I guess this is consistent with every other experience I've had with Bartell pharmacy, both as a physician and as a patient, which is always NEGATIVE. read more

I used to take my Grandma to the one in Eastgate - that should sum it up.... They had a great deal on almonds - 2 cans for $2.50 with coupon (reg $10) so it was worth walking into. I could have written every one of these reviews because the same thing happened me. Tried to reorder on the call # & was told it could not he filled? I had 2 refills left! I tried Phoning to no answer. Finally just let it ring & when about to hang up - surprise - a voice mail!!! Left one (that was a week ago & still no return) by the way! Multiple visits, horrible wait times so left twice. Finally went when they first opened & was told there were no refills in the system. Back home to contact doctor. I was told there were two refills left & they could not resend. Back to pharmacy next AM when they first opened & was told the same thing. I said I would not leave until I could talk to the pharmacist - there was only one & only one clerk. I truly felt sorry for them. When I finally talked to the pharmacist she had to admit there is a glitch in the system & they are not showing refills & I am not the only one it is happening to. This took 8 days. I tried another prescription yesterday to have the same thing happen. I immediately went to a new pharmacy & asked to transfer to them which they said there were a lot of Bartell customers coming to them, but asked that I call my Dr & have them send it in to them BECAUSE THE SAME THING WAS HAPPENING TO THE PHARMACY - no return of calls & responding to faxes for 3 to 5 days! I have used this pharmacy for years. This week I came to pick up a prescription for blood pressure medications. It was called in two days prior. After waiting in line 45 minutes I was told they haven't gotten to it yet and are says behind. They promised it would be filled within two hours. I never got the text it was ready so came back 24 hours later. Now I waited in line 1.5 hours to be told it still wasn't ready. This is the worst service I have ever seen and they are withholding life saving medications in some cases. I will never shop at this Bartell's again, or any for that matter. I am very sad as I was a loyal shopper here for 30 years. I just can't understand what happened to our lovely Bartell's. read more

I have used this pharmacy for good service for 5 years but since the sale of the company it seems that they are now a hot mess to deal with. They never answer their phones or return messages left. Visits to the store were interminable and the operation looked like chaos personified. on the first visit I was told the prescription (a common item) would be filled in an hour and so I came back the next day. at that visit after another long wait I was told they couldn't fill the prescription that day, nor tell me when they could fill it, perhaps later in the week. the order had been phoned in on a thursday, this on a saturday. anyway, had to cancel and go somewhere else. counter staff seems quite new, harried and out of the loop... read more

I picked up a prescription on December 8, 2016. I noticed when I got home that the pills were smaller than the ones I currently had but just assumed it was from a different manufacturer. Tonight I started looking at the bottle and noticed that the description was not that of the pills I received. Luckily it's the correct meds just not the correct strength! I don't know how a pharmacist misses this when they are supposed to double check every tech filled script! What would have happened if it had been the wrong medication! I will start checking my meds from now on before leaving the store! Really thinking about contacting a lawyer!!!!! Update: took meds back spoke to Assistant Manager Colton. He didn't even apologize for the mistake! They are switching the meds out but they did nothing to show they actually cared that I was given the wrong medication!!!! Cleanest, most appealing Bartell's I've ever been in. But wow, the staff are remarkably disorganized. I've been waiting here for 45 minutes waiting for a flu shot when they said it would take 15 minutes. I informed them I've been waiting for a while and there's no care or considerations that they're telling people vastly inaccurate wait times. I see a lot of people standing around and no awareness of customer service. I won't be coming back. As I'm writing this, two women that have been here for 5 minutes were just taken back for theirs. It's unclear what the fucking issue is but I would expect things to be MUCH more professional and organized. read more

I'm a personal assistant and frequent Bartells fairly often for prescription meds - 9/10 times there is *something* wrong and rather than try to contact my boss, they wait until I've stood in line for over 30 minutes. And while I don't mind waiting in line (hey, I'm getting paid by the hour) I've seen elderly people waiting in these long lines, some having been dropped off because they can't drive. Staff is rarely 'friendly' - very yes/no and move on. They are usually out of the brand name sudafed and it's hit/miss on what else they are out of stock with (even the most basics - like a refrigerated probiotic). If you MUST use bartells, use the one across 405 (also on 8th). MUCH better service. read more

I have gone to this Bartell Drugs for over a decade since it was the closest pharmacy and drug store to my house, but I will now be going out of my way to purposely avoid this place. I have no idea what happened to this store, but my biggest issue has been with the pharmacy. I've been trying to get my prescription for over a week now with absolute no luck from the pharmacy. I was initially told that my prescription was not approved by insurance, so I waited. I came back and was told it was still not approved by my insurance, so I called my insurance. They were able to get one of the prescriptions sorted out and approved, but told me that the wrong prescription was sent in for some reason and it wasn't covered by my insurance. My insurance tried to call the Bartell Drugs pharmacy to switch out the prescription to what I was actually meant to receive, and nobody answered the phone. I'm honestly not shocked because almost every time I've called they just dump me to voicemail. My insurance then called my doctor who sent in the right prescription to the drug store. I went to go pickup the prescription that was for sure approved and check on the other that had recently been updated. I was told that the prescription was fixed and approved, but they didn't have it in stock so they had to order it. The lady at the pharmacy recognized how long I had been trying to get this prescription and so she rushed it for me. She told me it would be ready for pickup the next day anytime after 6:00 PM. I called the next day at around 7:00 pm to make sure the prescription had been sent to the store and that I could go pick it up. Again, nobody at the pharmacy answered my phone call. I called again around 8:30 pm and had someone answer my call, only to tell me that "they didn't have the prescription I was looking for and that it needed to be ordered." I purposely have been trying to stay on top of this because of the holiday weekend coming and I need this medication. I explain to the woman on the phone that I had already come in the day before and that it was ordered to be picked up today after 6:00 PM. She put me on hold to go and check the recent shipments and explains that she found it. I ask her when I can come pick it up and she very awkwardly says, "it's late, maybe come in tomorrow morning." I explain that I need this prescription so when can I get it today and she then goes on to tell me that "they're busy." I don't understand why I received this type of response because the pharmacy stays open til 10 PM and it's my business if I choose to wait while it's busy or come in later in the evening. I ask her when I can just get it today and she says "pick it up in an hour" and hangs up on me. I get a call back not even 5 minutes later with her telling me that "the prescription she found wasn't actually for me and that she'll keep looking." I get another call an hour later that she had found my prescription but that it wasn't approved by my insurance? I explain to the lady that the ONLY reason that the prescription was ordered was because I came in yesterday and was told it was approved, but they didn't have it. She keeps trying to check and continues to tell me that it's not approved by my insurance and I just need to call my insurance in the morning to get this sorted out. I'm now back to square one with trying to get Bartell's to respond to both my doctor and my insurance so that I can get my prescription. I also have no clue as to why I was told it was approved, and my medication was rush ordered, only to now be told that I can't even get it. I now can't even get it until the long weekend is over which I was trying to purposely avoid!! This pharmacy is quite possibly the most disorganized I've ever encountered and will be moving elsewhere. Luckily I'm not in any sort of pain and it's more of a large inconvenience, but I couldn't imagine dealing with this for days and being in pain trying to get ahold of my medication. I know I'm not the only person who has been dealing with similar issues to this - many of my neighbors and family have moved pharmacies because they've had so many problems with this location recently. This Bartell Drugs needs to get it together or they're going to completely lose all business. If this isn't your go-to pharmacy and drug store to begin with, STAY AWAY. read more

By far the best Bartell's I've ever been to, especially after its renovation. The store is big, with a lot of stock and friendly staff. I have to admit that every time I go to Bartell's I look at the Seahawks items, to see if they have anything different than another Bartell's and this location has the most Seahawks items! Love it. It's also a well-organized store and always clean, with visible sale signs. For take-out they have an ice creamery, local beer on tap with growlers, an espresso stand and some food items to go. This location is my favorite Bartell's. read more
