Good selection of groceries, if you like ALDI you will like Rewe. We like shopping there.read more
This was our go to grocery when we were staying in Koblenz. There's other similar stores in the…read morearea, but this one was definitely the best by far. Biggest plus about this place is the bakery out front. For a supermarket they have an unbelievable selection of breads, pretzels and cakes, all fresh and delicious, no matter what time of day you stop by. If you happen to be in this part of Koblenz, definitely stop by this Rewe.

Been to the Koblenz one (on the Hohenzollernstrasse) and the Neuwied one - and can not understand…read morethe hype they generate. While both are selling beverages in store, you gotta cue and go outside again to cash in your "Pfand" (CRV) and cue again. If you approach the staff and ask for help the answer was - again, multiple times "if we have it, it must be somewhere there " pointing to a direction that could be anywhere in the store. No other store is this customer unfriendly. The sushi I bought in Neuwied was rather meh, most of the packaged meats are rated class 1 - which is the lowest how to keep any animal. I will not go again. Even discounters like Lidl offer better customer service - and significant lower prices. A shame really.
A relatively small, fine, stylish restaurant that can be found inconspicuously in the Oberen Löhr…read more(you really have have to look). They does not serve standard dishes, but strives for individuality, with a good atmosphere, attentive service. The place was well attended, middle-class audience; nevertheless, it was not loud (the audience knew how to behave, unfortunately not a matter of course today). It lacks any kind of flexibility though. First, they ran out of spinach. OK. They recommended the arugula with cherry tomatoes instead. Fine with us. Then they realized that's gone too. My business associates - a regular there - suggested that the wonderful Turkish veggie market around the corner is still open ;-) Not even a smile :-( They have what they have - period. The somewhat high price-performance ratio was OK. Not a top gourmet restaurant, but recommended for a night out, particularly when you want to dine as a couple. Would I go again? Possibly. Would I drive 30+ min detour just to dine here (mandatory in my rating scheme to achieve five stars). Sorry, no. Both service and food were simply not good enough, I was tempted to give three stars, but if in doubt - I did not want to hurt the restaurant as our guests and other guests seemed to be happy.

I can't give 5 stars because the store itself gets very hot during summer times. I get that this is Germany and that people prefer to sweat while they're running errands. I however thought it was uncomfortably hot in there and I feel sorry for the staff that has to work in these conditions.

Café Baumann is an icon in Koblenz. Their bakery products are amazing - and my Mum, who still lives…read morein Koblenz, goes there all the time - since 30+ years. Yesterday, old friends took us for breakfast - and I hate to say it, but it was less than average, and the service was not only inattentive, but the execution was awful - and any product that did not come from the bakery was less than average. The salami and turkey was ... cheap. The four of us hated it. Then, it took three attempts to get a soft boiled egg - and it arrived 30 mins after breakfast. Once the service had cleaned our plates, it just disappeared. We sat there for another hour - as you do in Germany - and they did not even ask if we cared for anything else. I would understand if the place was packed - but at this particular time, two-thirds of the tables were vacant. They did not even bother to bring the check - we had to find someone to pay. Sorry, as much as I love your place, if I had to pick a place where to go today, I'd rather risk checking out any new place than going again. And again, this comes from a customer who has been at least 100 times in the last 30 years.

Nevertheless, cakes, pastries and chocolates are of a very good quality, though not outstanding. Apparently the place has been Rhineland-Palatinate 'Cafe of Year' some 20 years ago, well things might have been different then.
