These are small, structured group sessions that are great venues for socialization and foundation training. Farrah is a world class trainer and endlessly patient. She took time before and after class to give us pointers and was also very available via text for questions. We'll be back in town in a few months and plan to sign up for her adolescent program. She's also recently brought on another trainer, Laura, who is wonderful as well. We've learned so much from both of them and look forward to being back soon!

They have a fantastic program set up for residents and visitors to the Aspen area where you can go and take the dogs for a walk, or a hike or spend the day with them at the park or your favorite coffee shop. Each dog is equipped with a coat that lets everyone know that he's "ADOPTABLE". That's what brought us in to just "look at" the dogs... The cages for the animals are large and clean, there is a HUGE area in the back with giant boulders that the big dogs can run up on and overlook the Aspen airport as well as the whole valley. The area where you can meet your prospective adoptee is also huge with park benches, a tree, balls and doggie treat so you can really hang out with and check out how your dog is going to behave. To help with funding they also offer grooming and boarding on premises. I think this place should be the model for all other shelters everywhere.. Just an amazing process and facilities. We couldn't be happier with our mixed breed lab pup.

The shelter is completely kill-free, so animals come from all over the states to be sheltered here. Adopting is easy, and the pet comes neutered/spayed and with all its shots. You can go and help socialize pets, or take them out for the day, a simple walk, a hike, or even take one home for the night! All of these animals are great souls who just want someone to love and be loved by. The facilities are wonderful and have been completely revamped from what they used to be. Located right across from the airport, it is easy to get to, so stop by and say hello! Maybe you'll walk away with a new family member!

They seem to possess the expertise and experience, and most importantly, love, to manage difficult dogs who dont play well with others, dog and human. I know its odd to write a review without actually using RPM's facility, but i was so impressed with the time they took to educate me on their approach to dealing with difficult dogs and how devoted they are to caring for your dog like it was there own.

Not a day goes by that I don't regret bringing my dog here for boarding. I checked my dog Nirvana…read morein for boarding on February 6, 2023 in good health with no prior injuries. In the morning of February 7, 2023 I received text messages and photos of Nirvana from the manager Stacy that mentioned nothing of this injury. She said that Nirvana was doing just great via text. (see photos below) However, my dog looked very uncomfortable and now knowing that she had a torn ligament, it seems like she was not being properly cared for as the photos so her sitting in an office chair, meaning that they were having her crawl in and out of the chair while she was injured, and also putting her in a situation where she could've further injured herself. On February 8, 2023 I received a phone call from the manager Stacey, stating that Nirvana had suffered a minor sprain while boarding, and had developed a limp. Allegedly Nirvana was examined by a veterinarian Dr.Sarah Love who is their "resident" Vet (owner's wife). They advised me that the "minor injury" would heal naturally within a few weeks, and that no further care or diagnostics was deemed to be needed by Dr. Love. Nirvana's medical records prove she never had a limp/injury before this incident. Because of the dishonesty and lack of transparency about the injury in boarding, my dog did not get the proper medical care she needed in an appropriate amount of time. A few months passed and she continued to not heal, and seemed to be in pain. In autumn of 2023 I took her in for an examination from a vet in our local community of Santa Monica, CA. The staff was immediately very concerned and asking for medical records from the initial examination. I explained that no medical records were ever provided and despite making multiple phone calls to contact Rocky Mountain Pet Resort or Dr. Sarah love for medical records of the alleged exam that took place, they have refused to cooperate or provide any records. After receiving radiology in October 2023, and proper care here in California, my dog was diagnosed with a permanent ligament injury. She has been prescribed medication that she permanently hast to take that she never had to take before prior to this injury. The veterinarian made it very clear that if the injury had been properly disclosed at the time, and had been properly examined by a medical professional, that there was more that could have been done when the initial injury took place. Unfortunately, because Rocky Mountain pet resort intentionally deceived me regarding the severity of her injury neglected to provide Nirvana proper care in a timely manner in response to the injury. The injury has now become a chronic permanent injury that does not have any options as far as further surgeries or treatment. Rocky Mountain Pet Resort has been so difficult regarding the situation that they have even asked me to no longer contact them, yet they were never able to professionally respond to the situation either. They have refused any refunds for her care, and I have accumulated many medical bills for my dog since bringing her to this facility. The worst part is that my dog lives in chronic pain on a daily basis, and she is in so much pain that she does not even want to go down the stairs to use the restroom. She used to be able to enjoy her quality of life after being rescued by me and we used to be able to go on long walks around the Los Angeles Marina now she is barely able to complete a quarter mile walk around our neighborhood. She constantly is licking the injury and also this creates other concerns like she could cause an infection because she licks her self to the point where there is a open wound out of pain. Now she also has to wear an E collar often, and that is not very comfortable for her. Her life was never like this until she boarded at Rocky Mountain Pet Resort. I took ample time to disclose Nirvana's special needs due to her situation as a rescue dog. Stacey assured me that Rocky Mountain Pet Resort had the capacity to work with her as a rescue dog and handle her special accommodations that we had discussed. This injury could've been easily prevented had the boarding facility followed the appropriate care for my dog. Prior to boarding Nirvana I took the time to disclose her special needs, and it was discussed that she was from Los Angeles an unfamiliar with snow. It was also disclosed that she cannot really be around other dogs. During this conversation Stacey was provided very detailed directions to not walk her without a leash on and keep her away from other dogs. And if needed to minimize walks, and to not take her on the snow. They ignored all special care instructions & fed her food that could have triggered intestinal bleeding!

Our regular boarding kennel was booked out. We found Cozy Little Kennel (CLK) on a Google search…read moreand booked a stay for our dog, Loki. We were a little concerned as this was a type of "Cold Call" and weren't sure what to expect. But after we arrived it was clear that CLK was represented accurately in its website and we felt great about leaving Loke at CLK. The outdoor play environment was perfect for Loki as he is a very active and athletic pooch. He obviously had friends and there was nearby human supervision and interaction. The indoor kennel area was clean and organized with heated floors for comfort. Loki seemed very happy when we found him upon our return. CLK may just be our "Go-To" boarding kennel for our future needs.

The fact that she could not address the actual reason that I came to her, was ludicrously expensive, and then had the nerve to claim she had to told me that on the phone-- when I had expressed doubts DURING THAT CONVERSATION and she had insisted that something could be done over time-- so that I would drive an hour and a half each way to see her, was egregious. Along with her constant plugging of products that I didn't need (and she conveniently sold)-- and her suggestion that almost 2 hours of walking my dog a day isn't enough-- really what I got in this encounter was a $200 lesson on how to get my dog not to pull on a leash. I was told everything about my lifestyle with my dog is wrong, without her even asking for specifics on my dog's behavior or what is realistic given our setup. One size fits all approach, and the BONUS that changing all of it cannot improve his chances for safety or an improvement of behavior where it matters most. Chris didn't check that I understood how to do what she was saying. I repeatedly had to correct her on things that she had assumed about my dog. She put my dog in a situation with an unknown dog without asking me if it was okay or even warning me. Still most importantly at the end of the day, her only solution to my dog's behavioral problems was 24 hours a day policing or physical separation-- in other words, something I could have worked out on my own without shelling out a whole day and a couple hundred bucks. Chris is skeptical about "new school positive training" for dogs and maintains opinions that fly in the face of new research--- like tug of war being "practice" for aggression-- when studies have shown that isn't that case. She seems to think that nothing is wrong with making your dog lay in a confined space for hours on end with no stimulation. Honestly, the entire thing felt like a racket with her going through everything I said and saying it is wrong, and then at the end of the day telling me it wouldn't make any difference unless I could commit to keeping my dog locked up. it is so much easier to go through and nit-pick everything someone is doing to make someone feel like they are "getting advice" than it is to actually train a dog to think or behave in a different way. And frankly, although expressing greater dominance over a dog may have value, expressing no affection for and treating your dog like a freaking inanimate object to "establish first position dominance" is not the reason most people have dogs. I will be using the leash technique, something I had already heard but she fine-tuned, and one or two other pieces of advice, but as for an actual way to change his behavior I'm going to have to do a lot more research since she was unable to help me and unwilling to admit that help was possible. Frankly, I left her place discouraged, hopeless, angry, and annoyed at having to back down a 100 yard driveway that is inexplicably bedecked with an obstacle course full of cones. She also tried to upcharge me $30 for a collar, which I am mailing back to her after realizing it is half as much on amazon.

Red Hill nearly killed my cat…read more The "care" at this facility sent my loved 13 year old cat to the V.R.C.C. Emergency Hospital, starving, malnourished, dehydrated, and hanging on by a thread. Here are the facts: - Red Hill never read my cats previous medical records. - They repeatedly dismissed our urgency to diagnose and treat our cat. - They took an entire month to run basic tests (I.e. bloodwork, fecal analysis, etc.) - They placed him on a strict diet for 8 weeks which HE WAS NOT EATING and ignored his severe weight loss. (He has always been healthy at around 10-11 lbs and was 7.95 when we got to the V.R.C.C. in Englewood.) And finally, - They claimed that "the lack of doing anything to help our cat is not negligence." I would recommend to anyone considering this facility or currently being seen at this facility, to run as fast and far away as humanly possible. This place is a disgrace to veterinary care, and it is astonishing that they are still allowed to practice medicine of any kind. 1 star was an obligation as a review cannot be posted without a rating. I also want to add that I have nothing to gain personally from posting this review. My only goal is to share our terrifying experience, so hopefully nobody else EVER has to endure what we did.
