We've driven past this place many times and we finally tried it today and we're pretty disappointed. The service was fast but the food wasn't the best. The mozzarella sticks tasted good and the fries and tater tots tasted like every other fries and tater tots. The dissatisfaction came with the burger it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. It's a 2 inch thick patty and it was hard to eat and it lacked flavor. After a few bites you soon lose interest in the Burger and your done eating it. The restaurant is also very small, not fit for big groups. The tables are very small the brought out all the food very fast which is good but they didn't give us time to finish our appetizer to make some room on the table, we had to balance our 5 plates on a very small table read more

Was there today. Ordered the turkey burger and it was like rubber. Looked like a frozen patty. Not good! Staff was nice and service good. I, like so many others, have been to many restaurants and I have also been to many 'newly opened' restaurants. This place has done it right when it comes to openings. My general rule is not to attend a restaurant for at least one month for them to iron out the kinks, but at the suggestion of a friend, I came to the grand opening and was very pleasantly surprised. I, like Kris above, have been at the bar and served by Sammi on a few occasions already. She's the best, the perfect mix of funny, sarcastic and courteous. They have chosen the right staff all around as the service is always attentive but never overbearing, the atmosphere is always friendly, and the food is always tasty. I have had many of their great beers (it's rare that I find beers I haven't tried before, and BBB has several) and enjoyed appetizers, burgers and salads. Everything is top-notch, always cooked to perfection with wonderful flavor. Top recommends are the pretzel sticks (amazing...but fair warning, they are addictive), the bison and Kobe patties, and the tater tots with Detroit chili. Their salads are also great, and I've heard from others while at the bar that the vegetarian options are very good...although I have yet to try them. I went here on a Saturday night to give them a try and was pretty pleased. There was plenty of people here but we got sat almost immediately as there was only two of us and everyone else was in a larger group. We ordered the soft pretzels as an app as well as a beef burger (mine) and a bison burger (my buddy). The pretzels were good, piping hot and were complimented well by both the cheese dip and the cinnamon sugar dip. Crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside, they were very good. On to the burgers, mine was cooked exactly the way I wanted it (medium) and with all the fixins was a really good burger. My buddy on the other hand, ordered his bison burger medium rare and it was cooked medium well. It was too dry as bison is very lean. He told the waitress about it and showed her. She completely agreed and asked if he wanted it replaced. He said no since he'd already eaten a third of it but she still gave him a card for a free burger next time. This was very thoughtful and while this cooking misstep could have cost them stars, the action of the waitress (Megan) restored any potential loss that may have occurred as a result. Went on a Monday for 1/2 price drafts and appetizers. Their drafts were not working and no mention of substituting bottled beer at 1/2 price. Ordered sliders and a couple of other appetizers and they were all pretty average and not quite hot. So uninterested waitress, full price beer on 1/2 price beer night and slightly cold food. Tried for the first time today and it is SO good that I am leaving this review as I'm leaving the parking lot! My boyfriend and I both are amazed at how amazing everything was, down to the amazing service. Service is always great. However, it's been in my experience that the burgers are generally overcooked. I prefer my burger medium, pink all the way through, and have a better chance at this from Buffalo Wild Wings than from basement burger bar. Extremely disappointing that a "burger restaurant" can't cook a burger to proper temp. People who prefer their burgers well done to hockey pucked will love this place. read more

I was at basement burger bar Saturday morning. The food was okay really nothing to brag about. That wasn't the problem at all, though. First, it is very unprofessional to have your bartender texting behind the bar. Then when she found the time to put down her phone and take my drink order it took her a long time to make a Mascow Mule. It was definitely was not worth waiting 10 minutes for when it is suppose to be one of their speciality drinks. When she finally took my order she was very rude. Never have had a problem here before until today, my gimlet was not made correctly, and my salad sat under the warmer too long so it was nice and toasty. Another server, which was not ours came and took our ketchup off our table without saying a word. Yet another server came and bussed our table while our server was sitting right in front of us at the bar talking with the bartender. Nothing great and nothing bad. Place was cold I kept my jacket on the whole time which was annoying when trying to eat a burger that was going to get messy. Pepper shakers are filled to the rim which makes it difficult to add pepper I had to twist the cap and pour since nothing would come out. Service was a C grade. Bar tender didn't seem interested in speaking to me or asking if I needed anything else before giving me the bill. When I asked questions about the menu she was short answered. After reading reviews & in the area, decided to give it a try. What a HUGE disappointment. So yes, the place isn't in the "basement" but instead in a very cramped bar like situation. They sat 5 of us at a round table where we were smashed together-especially when the table was sat next to us--I kept hitting the person next to me if I moved. It was not busy yet we didn't get drinks from our server, nor our food--that was brought by a runner/kitchen staff. Onto the food. Bla. That's all I can say. My burger was dry & no flavor whatsoever. And pricey! We had 2 kid meals & they were cold upon arrival, and made wrong so we had to wait again for that to be made (and wait a long time). And there was nothing done or said-just the same bland burger brought back out. And again, this was asked to the food runner-not our server as she couldn't be found-and mind you, this place is small. And no visit from the manager-sorry for the issue with your meals. Again, that speaks volumes for your terrible customer service and awful food. Skip this place and ignore the better reviews---it is not good, not worth your time (and the great amount you'll lose waiting for your food), and not worth your $$. Disappointed! read more

I always get the turkey burger. Not cause the beef / buffalo isn't great, but because you'll never have a better turkey burger! Staff is friendly and attentive. If you can't squeeze in at the bar you'll probably have a short wait for a table. read more

Basement Burger Bar. I was confused about the name, because this location isn't in a basement... come to find out the original is in a basement, so question answered. Now, to the burgers. Lots of options, lots of choices, completely up to you. I got the French fries once and they were good, don't have any other experience with the sides here. I haven't been in a while because my wife is now gluten free, and she usually doesn't go for a lettuce wrap. Any chance of getting a gluten free bun here Basement? I don't know of any business around that has one, and you would be one of the first, if not the first. Food tasted good each time I've been, which has been 3 times so far. Service was decent. Place is a very small, as I'm sure some of the other reviews have mentioned. Sub-compact for what is is, but hey, it used to be a dry cleaner store. Our table seating was north & south. Party seated after us but next faced E & W. So cramped the hood of the lady's coat laid flat on our table as she took it off and she tried to keep it to herself. We scooted our table over as far as we could and we're OK, but close is very close. Parking is no different. Feel sorry for the other stores as quick stops & take outs will be too annoying to bother with. As for the food I agree with the previous positive reviews. I had the Kobe burger & it was very good. Going in I was thinking grinding-up Kobe is a waste of a good piece of meat, but it was only $9, so I gave it a try. I just wonder if it is really Kobe LIKE/TYPE vs actual Kobe? I doubt they could import the stuff from Japan for that price. I've had Kobe in Japan and it is very expensive. We will be back again to sample more. read more

Went there last night. Wasn't overly impressed with the burger. Place is very small and the single bathrooms is a definite let down. Had to wait in line to wash my hands. Should have made bigger bathrooms, but I guess they only had so much space to work with. Also parking is difficult in the strip center they are in. read more

BBB became our Friday night mainstay pretty much since its Canton grand opening. Why? BBB offers an assortment of exceptional Michigan craft beers. Taps rotate frequently and there are always several interesting beers to try. The burgers are great. Salads are crisp and fresh. This place doesn't skimp on toppings or sides. I'm really fond of their turkey burger which packs in more flavor than you'd expect. No matter what you order, it comes out great. Placed a carry out order from this location on my first visit and could not have been more disappointed. We ordered 3 burgers and 2 apps and spent over $50. There was a hair in one of the sides, one of the burgers did not have the toppings we paid extra for on it, and they completely forgot to put one of the apps in the order. My wife and I had dinner here last Friday. We arrived around 7pm and were told it was a 25 minute wait, not bad for the limited amount of seating. There were open chairs at the bar however, so we were able to sit right down and order food. We started with pretzel bread sticks that were served with a cheddar sauce and a cinnamon butter. If you've had them at Bar Louie, I can tell you that these blew them out of the water. Soft and delicious, heated to order and not sitting in some warming drawer to stale out. Both sauces were great. The beer selection was wide and eclectic. My wife had a two hearted, while I tried a Founder's pale coffee flavored pilsner. Fantastic. We both did the build your own burger 8oz ground beef. Bison, Turkey, and Veggie burgers were also available. She ordered medium-rare and got medium. I ordered medium and got medium-well. That being said, I was ready to lick the wax paper upon finishing.
