After passing by the art gallery and the souvenir store, I decided to get an early pick me up. Went to the counter and ordered and espresso. Service was great: polite and quick... just the way I liked it. I noticed that they sold the Tasmanian plush toys raising funds for the fire relief efforts (a noble cause). They have pastries and all sorts of coffee drinks available. For those who want a full on breakfast, you can grab that in the back. I only had my coffee here this morning and unfortunately the beans were a little too acidic for me. All in all, a great little place next to our hotel (Macq01) so I know where to go if I needed to grab something quick in the morning!

The coffee is pretty good too. The Breakfast Tostada however, lacked flavour. Scrambled egg, tomato, avocado, chorizo and tortilla is right up my alley but it just didn't work together - even with a giant chorizo sausage as the main flavour.

I checked the menu and to my delight, the prices were fair and the food sounded amazing. Hands down, this was the most flavorful, memorable, and enjoyable breakfast I ate in 2017. It tastes even better than it looks. My cappuccino was also the best I've had in a long, long time. All in all, this hidden gem is affordable, enjoyable, and I will go back the next time I visit Hobart. My mouth is watering just thinking about the breakfast I ordered there.

The oysters were delicious as expected and my favorite dish was definitely the toastie!! Insane cheese pull on that one and so flavorful! The cauliflower was just okay and I actually did not like the boats in the source dish much at all. Overall I felt a little let down with the meal but the service was amazing and I had a very kind and helpful server. I'd consider trying out FARO the higher end fine dining restaurant inside MONA instead of The Source if I am able to visit again!

Another local twist is the incorporation of individualized designs to the plates from local school children and the modern uniforms are designed in AUS and unisex. Beautiful, thoughtful meal and space. We loved it. Ate a leisurely lunch, then wandered downstairs to the ice cream cart and then walked it all off in the museum. A perfect afternoon.
