Usually we go to the Baskin-Robbins on the end of myrtle which is a little scary because I feel very suspect that the ice cream could be sanitary when you walk into that joint. But this place is a breath of fresh air. It is very well lit and just feels clean when you walk in. Everything looks organized and taken care of. Luis helped us today and he was so smiley and friendly to my kids. They have a bathroom for customers and it was pretty clean and smelled nice. This Baskin Robbins location had it's grand opening today, with special pricing for a single scoop of ice cream for $0.99 until 6 pm. This new location can be found in the same location as Smart & Final, specifically next door to Check Into Cash (took over the old Baklava Land) with parking available. This early evening, I came by here with my husband and little girl dog (please note that there is no outdoor seating like the location in Monrovia, so my husband stayed outside with our little girl while I was inside) for some ice cream. We ended up getting: Single Scoop Butter Pecan On Sugar Cone, $0.99 (tax included)- my husband's go to flavor, this ice cream was creamy and had the same consistency in texture and taste as all the other Baskin Robbins locations we have been to. The sugar cone was a nice added crunch and vehicle to holding the ice cream. Our little girl dog loved this ice cream. Single Scoop Cherries Jubilee, $0.99 (tax included)- I opted to get this flavor in a cup. I really loved the actual cherry pieces in ice cream, really made for a nice added flavor and texture. I think I have a new favorite go to ice cream flavor to get at Baskin Robbins now. ----------------------------- (Total= $1.98, tax included). Although there were quite a bit of people in line to take advantage of the grand opening special, the wait wasn't too long. In addition to special pricing, there was also music (that was blasting way too loud and wish it wasn't blaring) and a prize wheel. I love that this location has a menu board of what flavors are available, including the special flavor of the month (which happens to be candy mashup). I haven't seen too many other Baskin Robbins locations that have that. I also love the mural on the way that is specific to the Duarte location (love personal city touches). I am definitely happy that Baskin Robbins is now opened in Duarte and look forward to coming back real soon. Please note that all Baskin Robbins locations have special scoop specials on the 31st of every month that has 31 days. Coming up on October 31, you can get 1 scoop of ice cream for $1.70. read more

I had to repeat my order several times though the gentleman was polite and courteous. Tonight they were out of whip cream. On previous visits I had to ask them to take my order. Franchisees just need to ensure they have well trained staff and properly stocked inventory, FYI - my first job was with BR Corp. training Franchisees. Both times an employee named Abraham has been here and he seriously always looks pissed whenever someone comes in. The first time i bought an ice cream cake while another employee was writing the names on the cake i wanted to buy a single scoop to enjoy since i knew it was going to take a while to write multiple names on the cake, well Abraham saw i was walking around waiting for someone so i could order a single scoop, when someone else came in he finally came to the ice cream area where I've been waiting and was ready to order and he said sorry i can't help you, I'm helping the people behind you. Like what kind of customer service is that. I was like ok since he did say he will help me after he finished with them, and when he finished with them another person came in and complete ignored me again and helped the customers that barely came in. Well the second time i came in which was today 7/14, he just seemed so annoyed to be there. I usually go to my local ice cream shop but my kids insisted I took them here because they see this shop everyday after we drive home from school so I gave in and made the stop a few days ago and let me just say I haven't had such a great experience with any workers in a long time but this time a lovely young lady helped us out I believe her name was Edith she was great with the kids! Very disappointing to say the least! I've been going to this place since they first opened up. I was a loyal customer on a weekly basis. NOT ANYMORE! I ordered my brownie Sunday which comes with 2 scoops. The server must have been new since I had not seen here there before. She was nice and polite. God bless her. Without laboring about what she did or didn't do, the Sundae was served to me with very small scoops and a single pump of the hot fudge. It was nowhere the standard that they've served before. I didn't say a word to her and paid her. I noticed the manager was at the register and mentioned to him that the Sundae didn't come close to the size nor the content it was supposed to be. He just looked at me and said it was the right measurement. I walked out took a minute to drive off but realized I was underserved. I came back in and asked the manager to speak away from the other customers and he obliged. I stated to him that I was dissatisfied with the content of the ice cream to which he argued that the sundae was measured and that each scoop contained 2 ounces. He just pulled that fact out of thin air. He proceeded to question my intelligence about what the weight out to be when in fact the contents looked like half of the cup was filled. He was pompous and lacked understanding of my concern. He allowed me to walk out of the store without offering me a remedy the first time and now he was questioning me about the weight of the scoops. I didn't want to prolong the issue so I asked him to refund me. He agreed. I stood there for a few minutes waiting for him to refund me and realized he was going to stretch this thing out longer than it needed to be. After a couple of minutes-perhaps about 3 or 4 minutes, I just walked out without the refund. What a shame! This guy was unprofessional and completely lacked any etiquette or a hint of professionalism whatsoever. The kids in this store deserve our appreciation and gratitude. I don't fault the young lady whatsoever in this. I just don't believe this manager knows how to train his employees to be consistent in their service. I hate to say it but I won't be going to either of his stores in Duarte or Monrovia any more. His attitude really did make the difference. read more

Our family has been Baskin Robbins patrons since the 70's just love the yummy products!! We were so excited to see the brand new location in Duarte sadly we were disappointed we got a roll cake for my brothers birthday. I asked if they could write his name on it as we have always done they said they don't do that... we were very disappointed and given a plastic happy birthday one to stick in it instead. We were still very excited to celebrate with the cake but oh no the usually thick fudge which truly makes the cake so delicious was so thin it was barely there. The cake was just so so ...all I can think of maybe the staff needs to be instructed on thicker fudge application and also trained to learn how to scrip names on the cake.
