We were in the market for pavers on our driveway and walkway. We chose Bastos to do the job. We had the sales guy come out for the estimate for our project, who was very helpful. To start our process we actually went to their office in fort myers where we were greeted upon entering By the two office girls who were very helpful in helping us choose the pavers which they actually have all the samples laid out on the floor, We signed the contract and Bastos ordered the pavers we chose. Six weeks later they started our job. Day one the demo folks came to remove the concrete driveway and walkway, these two workers were very professional and had the job completed in three hours. Day two four installers show up at 8 am and started the leveling process which is really an important task. This process took about three hours . Next, They started laying the pavers in the driveway which took the rest of the day, when they left they had probably 80% of the job completed and came back the next morning to finish. So after 3 days the job was completed. We are very happy with the outcome and they left the job site cleaner than when they arrived. read more

They did our driveway and we receive compliments constantly. Later they came back and expanded an existing paver patio with new pavers five-six years younger than the originals. Bastos replaced our concrete driveway with pavers. We selected the pavers based on what we saw in their showroom. The installation went as planned and was done with high quality and ahead of schedule. However, the color looked different. I was subsequently told that the pavers in their showroom had recently been replaced after we selected the color and that the manufacturer had changed the name of the color several years ago. They explained that they had no control over the manufacturer. I will be repainting our house. Make sure you are ordering the pavers that are actually available! read more

If this review was solely based on the physical work done by the work crew I would have rated Bastos Pavers higher Unfortunately, their office team and on site supervision has been horrible throughout the more than six month project. The work crew leveraged up my rating to two stars. The office / supervisory rated would have been zero Communication from Bastos Pavers to us was either non existent or sent to the wrong party When additional Bastos people (supervision?) showed up at our home they never introduced themselves and no one on site spoke English so you could not communicate We were given no advance notice when they showed up to do the project three weeks before the scheduled date. Bastos misquoted the original estimate and we became obligated to cover an up charge that equated to nearly 25% of the quoted amount or not have the project completed. Bastos tried to blame us for a shortage of pavers (said we changed extent of coverage area -which we did not ) until we produced a site drawing that the Bastos estimator had at time of original estimate Bastos sent the final bill to the wrong party read more

Bastos' Pavers installed new travertine pavers at our home in the Verandah recently and did an excellent job. I started using Ray 10 years ago when he was just starting out. (and did most of the work himself). Our daughter and grandkids now live in that home and the driveway he installed back then still looks great! Recently we wanted to upgrade our pool deck and Ray recommended Travertine pavers for the job. Don't ever use Bastos Pavers Inc. !!! We placed our order on May 6th 2021. They required 40% down. Starting date was supposed to be Dec 15th. Which I believe is plenty plenty of time. Now they are saying that they are 3to5 weeks behind in schedule. So they have had our money probably earning interest and we have NOTHING!!!! read more

We had our lanai screened in and pavers extended to driveway around March of 2020. Due to Covid and other health issues we did not return to Florida until December of 2021 at which time we found that one of the new pavers sank. Bastos refused to fix it under the warranty which was for 2 years. They claimed the paver in question was not theirs in spite of us providing before and after pictures proving it was theirs. They sent me a $400 estimate for the repair. After much back and forth they lowered it to $200. I paid it just to get the repair done and put this experience behind me. I am a designer so I work with many types of contractors and I have to say that the entire process was seamless. Thank you to Danielle in the office and Ray for clear communication and always keeping us informed of what was happening and when. The installation took half the time quoted and when they were done they pressure washed my fence and the side of my home to get the dust off and took all their garbage with them. The site was left clean and the patio is stunningly beautiful. Bastos' pavers recently power washed and sealed our driveway and lanai. They did an absolutely fabulous job! They showed up when they told us they would be there and went that extra mile no matter what we asked. The two young men were polite courteous and worked so very hard. I hired bastos pavers at the recommendation of my pool refinishing company, Coastal Pools to pave my pool area. I was told that it would be a maximum of 9 weeks to get the materials. I was given a start date within that parameter. I gave the paving company $3,000 as a down payment. They canceled the first start date. I told them that I was not happy but, would expect an excellent job when they got here. I was given a second start date. I called the day before and asked what time they were going to start the job.The secretary said that she believed that there was a change in plans. I called Costal pools. They called Bastos. Indeed, they wanted to again change my start date. My pool representative said that I had been waiting much too long. Bastos called me and said that they would come and start the job. They appeared the next morning. Bastos was irritable and nasty. He changed the contracted plans which would have necessitated more tile work by coastal pools. He stormed out saying that he was not going to do the job. I said...we have a contract...he said too bad. He left...materials and all. My pool contractor called him and told him that he needed to apologize to both me and him. He refused. Coastal pools who has given Bastos more than $200K worth of business refuses to ever work with him again. I have to start all over. Never hire these people!!!! read more

Bastos came with excellent recommendations in area so I may be one of few but here are a few important things to consider when considering any paver repair work - they reset pavers around my pool then clean and refilled sand and resealed my entire pool area, Result: Mess - sand was everywhere, around pool deck, in the pool, in slider tracks.... I am pool company spend many hours cleaning up sand. Original Problem - they were to resolve settling of pavers done by someone else and I explained during sales and install visits need to push down from surface to fill cavities below the surface... workers did not speak english and then too late to insure work done properly. My message is to get every detail about job on paper. read more

We would not recommend. First they installed the drain in the wrong place so it had to be ripped out along with many pavers , many of which were small sharp pieces along the pool. Then tried to convince us that that's how they have to do it. Aside from being a saftey issue, it looked very unprofessional and sloppy. Right there I don't expect to have to argue especially about a safety issue. To them everything can be fixed with adding more sand. This project was put in over a clean cement patio , a gorgeous pool that had just been retiled, resurfaced, and new coping. They left us with sand all over and many wider gaps filled with sand. They cut the pavers on the patio other than out side of the screen leaving layers of brick dust all over windows , bar, everything. This ca not be a satisfactory way to do business.Layers of sand in the pool, morter shoeprints that had to be removed , and a drainage problem that leaves an area of the patio constainly wet.Every thing we brought to their attention was either an argument or ignored. A one day job turned out to be many until we just had enough. They received all their money but left us unhappy and having to fix the issues ourselves. Weeks later we are still cleaning up and dealing with water under the patio cover draining the wrong way all the way to our door, an issue we never had prior to this work. I was at a house doing some yard work for a client and employee,s of Bastos Pavers were next door putting in pavers on the lanai and pool area. They were constantly yelling and swearing in a loud manner. I found this unacceptable in a area near a city park with many children playing. Very unprofessional. read more
