While their per project quote may have seemed high, actually hour per hour they were more cost effective than what I was paying per hour with other "budget friendly" contractors (whose names I am not going to name). The man did not bring proper tools, kept saying he would, never did, and I ended up buying the tool to try and expedite. Owner never tried to provide tools needed and blamed the guy he hired. Week one was spent taking up 200 sq ft of old floor but not all the motar. Power said he had aa crew down with prior job. Could start Monday. I would have all three. I had 3 guys half a day. Ended up one guy, everyone else gone. Poor communication. One day I am told "tomorrow, final demo and dry fitting cement board. Didn't happen. There was another day of demo and some incorrect dry fitting. This is the point at which I said no more. What really sent me over the edge was they turned my water off on Wednesday and I advised multiple times I had an appointment and needed to leave by 230. The owner was supposed to come back before I.Left and turned the water back on. He texted me at two twenty seven and said he was about twenty minutes away. I was so mad and I had to go, so I did if they were. Said he'd come back that night later from Bloomington. I guess and turn the water back on, but I said, forget it. I tried to do it myself, and I couldn't, so I spent a night without water. It is so disrespectful, in my opinion to tell somebody. You will be there before they leave. But then don't be there, and they end up having a night without any water. I had new flooring company come out who said as they looked in the bathroom that they had broken my plumbing pipe.Now I have to have that replaced and have a drywall person in to fix that. I asked for a refund of the unspent.Amount I had paid up front. The owner is giving me the run. Around and now he won't respond at all. I have a lot of texts that show everything i'm saying, if anybody wants to see them. The owner told me that I have very unrealistic expectations. That could be true. But when the new flooring guys told me what it would take to fix the problems this company caused, it's less time than these guys already spent here. One of the workers for this company also told me that the they have been working on a job in Champaign for a month and a half, and they're nowhere near done. That's unverified by me. But now I have to sue this guy to get my money back. Also to get money for the plumbing that they damaged.And the drywall repair, which is another three hundred and fifty dollars. Beware. The values you read on their website which say what they are committed to are absolutely untrue, as it relates to my experience with them.

He's not an expert at everything, but he doesn't pretend to be, either, and he will tell you right up front if you would be better served with someone else's services, and in those cases he knows who to recommend, and those recommendations have all been super high-quality as well. 10/10 would recommend, and if I could add more stars I would.

Joe and his team remodeled our bathroom this spring, and we couldn't be happier. The reason we…read moredecided to hire Kitchen & Bath Spec. over others we had gotten quotes from was both his reasonable price and his willingness to work with us on our vision. I'm not a professional interior designer, but other contractors wanted to tell us how to design our bathroom in a way that didn't fit with the style of our older, mid-century modern home. We wanted to modernize our bathroom without leaving that mid-century, simple aesthetic behind. Our house was built in 1958, and with old houses come some special challenges -- especially with leveling everything! Joe did a great job laying the tile on our walls and floors so you can't tell there's a nearly 6" difference in the floor from one side of the room to the other. The plumbing was a challenge as well, but in the end everything got sorted out! It was frustrating at times, but Joe and his team were friendly and did everything they could to make everything the way it should be and work with our quirky old house. The only issues we had were electrical, which is also an unusual low-voltage system. As such, some of the switches/lights were routed wrong, and my husband ended up having to switch the wires in the boxes around. It was a minor mistake, which was easily fixed. The pictures really don't do it justice. Our previous bathroom was small, cramped and frustrating for two people to use. Now, after taking out a wall and installing a walk-in shower, freestanding tub, and functional vanity (which Joe helped us convert from a flat-packed dresser), the bathroom is both functional and beautiful. Before, I wouldn't even take a bath in there and hated digging around for things under the vanity everyday. Now it's a joy to relax in there. Thank you to Joe and your team!

I tore out the existing floor to save myself a little money. Joe layed the heated floor for me with a ceramic tile floor over that. Once he started the job, he stuck with it because as I pointed out to him, that was my only bathroom, and the facilities are a necessity. He also installed an outside plug for me. The one thing I would have preferred is that I would have liked to have been home while all the work was being done, I did not like having to communicate over the phone. But work schedules did not permit. He was, however, very good about letting me know when he was coming and going so I could plan accordingly. And by the way, my bathroom floor looks very nice.

In the past Illinois has had to purchase energy and the mini systems would eliminate the need. I needed to be approved because they were only allowing them in certain areas. They did not tell me I would be charged a flat fee for my solar energy. They installed the panels and have damaged my roof. The damage was reported to them in January and now in April the roof is leaking and damaged the interior ceiling. They finally came out May 8 and did some temporary patches. Now the claims person is telling me the patches are considered permanent and they will not be replacing the damaged roof. My roof only 3 years old.
