I used to visit this library often as an undergraduate student. Back then, it was called North York…read moreReference Library, which was a part of North York City Centre. Likely due to the amalgamation in the late 90's, the Toronto Public Library couldn't have two reference libraries. The Toronto Reference Library retained its name. This one changed its name to North York Central Library. I don't recall when the North York City Centre subway station changed its name to North York Centre. I remember frequenting Coles and the food court back then. I should go back. I'm sure everything looks and is different. I like this library a lot. It's spacious. If you need a place to quietly read a book or study, there were plenty of tables and chairs to do it. It's still the case to this day. It's a popular place for students to visit, do research, and study. I like that there are lots of floors to spread out. There were seven when I was last there. This library went through major renovations back in 2017. Three floors were affected. This section was reopened a year later. These days, it has auditorium, a Braille writer, magnifiers, and wheelchair-accessible furniture. It also has wifi. I always liked the DVDs, CDs, and other media formats. This library had the best selection. I miss having a Toronto library card. Back then, I used to live in Toronto before I moved to Markham with my parents. I then studied in Toronto, so having a library card was free. I neither work nor live in Toronto. I refuse to shell out money for a Toronto library card. Instead, I'm content with my Markham, Mississauga, and Brampton ones. (43)

Went here to study for the first time and it is a very popular place. Many floors with a crazy…read moreamount of tables and chairs. I went there at around 11am and was happy to grab a table in by the windows. I stayed there till closing and must say that it is a good spot if you want to study in groups or individually. The single study booths are hard to grab as they are on a first come first serve basis.

Armour Heights library is one of the tiniest libraries I ever been to in Toronto…read more There are only 3 tables which seat 4, the only good thing about it is there are 2 outlets under each table. I came by in the early afternoon, so I have no problem secluding a space with plug. One good thing is there are ample parking since it is inside the Community Centre sharing the same parking lot. Kids can be quite rowdy at time since this library is really one big room. Please stop the screaming kids!!! Take them outside to the playground right behind the library please....................

The branch has about 4 table to work with which they do have oulets on the ground under the table to use plus a seating area by the magizines and bench by the window which I am using to watch the parking lot and weather, it a quiet day so far. But this out of the norm, it basically a room so that translate into noise with the kids but it could be worse I think this final one for the day so Its been fun

Jane and Sheppard is one of more modern libraries in the system. According to the history this…read morebranch has moved around a few times from being a community to a mall and its current spot. Look at both the pervious two spaces, this is much better library for current spacing, Its an average sized branch, with a good collection, helpful staff, about 10 computer, it has quiet study rooms and for what I saw with kids who seem to be here for thier lunch it was a bit noisy and rowdy, but it seem all branches seem to have issue with kids, more the smaller onces since staffing isnt a good, you may see 2-3. The nice feature of Jane and Sheppard is that it does lend out laptops and from the website this branche seem to have most. There are another 4 branch that have this feature but its nice to hae. Mount Dennis is near as well but its helpful As nice as open window design is, I see what the bad side is. Alot of light and heat coming in and seem this branch doesnt have AC, My true rating woulf 3.5 but I feel like this minor issue that probably will be fixed.

So a lot of kids from the hood comes there all the time to play games on the computer. My 2 friends and I once got chase by my other friend's friend (he's not really my friend, he's just a guy in my class that I know. He also hangs out with really weird ppl). We literally ran around the whole library just to get away from him.
