Sons enjoyed Marlins baseball Camp. $100 (x2) for a 4 day experience (830a - 12n) geared toward kids 6-14 years old. Run by VWU coaches, players and other paid staff. Good pre-camp email communication by assistant coach Kyle DuBois. My boys asked me to stay for day 1 where I had the pleasure of chatting with head coach, Chris Francis. He even invited me to the press box to enjoy the comfort of ac in the blazing heat. Great guy! Despite hellfire temps, campers and coaches seemed to have fun with activities ranging from calisthenics, throw/catch, wiffle ball games, "triple pickle," batting cages, brief fielding drills, and a few water balloon battles. Thought there would be more formalized instruction and opportunities for pitching but that was limited to 12-14yo's. Still, Chris said it best: "we're doing our jobs when the kids want to come back and are sad it's over." On the first day, drop off traffic was insane because all sports camps (softball, baseball, soccer, etc) were bottlenecked by the security booth; I was the guy who merged into the less used second feeder lane. #SorryNotSorry. Wasn't a fan of far off picnic table check-in, not to mention the decision to corral 50 boys in a dugout from 830a to 9am in full sunlight. They did have port-a-potties, water coolers and a dedicated trainer in the dugout every day. One day the sprinklers came on during camp; kids enjoyed it too much for that to have been a mistake.

My daughter is attending VWU in the fall so we came for a campus visit. There is definitely a 60s vibe but you can tell they're spending lots of money to grow the school. I appreciate that this school is smaller with fewer students. It's expensive but my hope is that my daughter will be surrounded by professors and staff who care about her and help her succeed. Excited to be a Marlins family.

WOW WHAT A GREAT COLLEGE CAMPUS! First of all the graduation was amazing!! Kudos to the graduates!!! The ceremony was outstanding! Both the speakers and audio set up was great. The water stands located every corner was very appreciated during the outdoor graduation and thank you to all of those who made the water runs! The campus buildings inside and out looks great!! Such a well designed campus, it really is! The students art work inside is such a great touch! Here's a photo of my in-laws after the ceremony.

Beautiful campus! It is a secured area and you do have to check in at the guard shack. My son uses the pool a few times a week, so this review is solely based on the pool/locker room area. This week the ventilation system is not working which has not made it good swimming conditions. The pool deck area could be maintained better for cleanliness, but in no way is filthy. The men's locker room often smells and is most likely due to carpet on the floor that gets wet. Overall a nice pool and pretty campus. We will continue to come back.

Football season is here!…read more I did not formally attend the University to further my education however I love the fact that you can go to sporting events that are within my hometown for example this past football season my husband and I attended a few football games at the NSU ... We were super excited for the new coach Michael Vick! We went to the first game and it was a fairly decent turnout however, the crowds were late entering the field...a lot of confusion going on nevertheless the stadium is beautiful plenty of vendors there if you're not just interested in the game. The parking can be an issue however they did offer parking at the MacArthur mall and we were able to take a shuttle over which was pretty easy and that was free of charge or we had access to take the light rail in Norfolk as well and get let off within a mile or two of the stadium which was free of charge as well. Nevertheless it's a good time if you're into sporting events this is basketball season right now not sure how the teams are doing but it's worth a visit if you're in the area to check out the teams at a collegiate level. Have fun and enjoy life :)

I was charged $300 on my FASFA for a laptop I didn't need I already had one. Since October of 2021 I have told them about it and nobody has help since. I told the president of the school and even the accreditation Board. The woman from the accreditation board made it seem like it wasn't a big deal and she would help but didn't care at all. When I had one month left, I was told if I take 4 weeks off for maternity leave my classes would be put on hold and I wouldn't graduate in September. I was back at school a week later after giving birth so keep that in mind before attending.

Hendricks at Regent. Without going into too much detail have you ever had the feeling that someone just doesn't want to help you. That was exactly the vibe I got. I was trying to assist someone with a relatively minor issue but instead of providing clear guidance I was met with vague responses like We can't help with that or Let me reach out to someone who might be able to assist. Eventually they brought in Mr. Hendricks but unfortunately he was no help either. I couldn't tell if he genuinely didn't know how to assist or simply didn't want to. His suggestion was to have the person in question contact him directly, which we did one min later. The person called multiple times, left messages on both his business line and mobile, and even followed up via email. No response!!! The lack of follow through and willingness to assist was extremely frustrating and left a very poor impression. Please don't advise to be a military friendly school if you are going to treat people like this. Help fix the issue not make it worse or give us a run around, do better!!

I later was told by university staff (in 2024) that there were only two people working in the business office. The lack of man power accounted for the long or non-existent communication times. However, the business office is not why I am writing this review. As of 02/27/2026, I am 4 credits away from graduating from Regent University. I was originally scheduled to graduate last summer. This is my second master's degree, so I am paying the majority of my tuition out of pocket. Up until February 2025, that was not a problem. I am self-employed, and in February 2025 I had to make two trips back home as my father was diagnosed with cancer and quickly passed away, causing me to miss working half of the month of February. I believe my GPA is around 3.78 and the semester my father passed I still received over a 3.5 GPA. I fell behind on most of my bills due to being off work and having extra travelling expenses on two occasions in less than 30 days. I applied for scholarships and all to no avail. Since I was so close to graduating, I was told by either the financial aid office or the business office to reach out to the head of my department to see if they had any additional departmental funds that could assist with my overdue balance, which was under$1500. I sent an email and heard nothing for a couple of months, after a follow-up email I was told to submit a scholarship application (although the date for the scholarships had passed) so that they could have basic information and demographics to try to find a donor, alumni, or any other scholarship or grant that they could find to assist me. I submitted the application and sent an email informing my contact that it was submitted in August 2025. As of 2/27/2026, I have heard absolutely nothing, and my balance has been submitted to collections. As a student in good standing, who is already working and excelling in the industry in which I was obtaining my degree in, and only 4 credits away; I expected some form of communication, even if it wasn't favorable communication. It saddens me that I got so close to graduating and after asking for assistance (something I don't do personally), I was ignored and treated as a stranger, not a student who never had issues paying my tuition for two consecutive years. This situation has added sadness to an already devastating time. It really is unfortunate added to the frustration of dealing with the understaffed business office during my time as a student. These experiences have left a very sour taste in my mouth for a University I once loved and spoke pretty highly about.

Every instructor I've had has infectious enthusiasm for teaching us their trade, and even though I work full time and it's exhausting me to go - I look forward to every class. My only complaints are tied to ECPI. CIV is actually the School of Culinary Arts for ECPI. ECPI's policies/support of the school are sometimes shady at best. First - during a blizzard in Virginia Beach, ECPI responded that "if 7-Eleven is open, we're open." Way to think about the safety of your students/instructors. I trekked in - and then STILL had to make up the class because of the instructors that said "screw this." Second, a lot is web-based. Not a problem - if ECPI could keep the internet up in the school. Internet goes down for HOURS at a time probably twice a week on campus. Third, for $36,000 per student - you think ECPI would let us keep our culinary books. NOPE. We've only got to keep 2 so far - and I'm in my 7th semester. Oh, and I have a Bachelor's Degree from the US Naval Academy, and I'm halfway through a Master's program at Embry Riddle, and ECPI only transferred 3 classes. It's all about the money! Very happy with Culinary Institute of Virginia, but wish they weren't associated with ECPI.
