The meals are ok but are a little on the expensive side for what you get. If you've got a few kids then your looking at £30 for an hours entertainment and dinner. Your eating time is included in the time you're limited to so you can't have a nice relaxed meal as the kids want to be off and play and you're concious of the time you're taking away from their play. The facilities themselves are good and the kids always have a good time. Probably not worth it for crawling kids. I have very active toddler and he still has problems with accessing some of the equipment for under 5s.

Stamford Park is a massive communal park that hosts many events throughout the year. The Bonfire…read morenight's are especially impressive but you have to arrive early as the roads quickly become congested and it's then hard to access the park by car. Vehicles often park on the banking next to the main road, but this causes other peoples vehicles to become trapped and it not advised. The shows are reasonably well funded which means things like the firework displays are rather impressive, with a good police and ambulances presence in case of emergencies too. The park is also worthy of a visit during any normal sunny day too, not just when there's an event on, it's very well taken care of, and there's good disabled access if required too.

We'd then visit the conservatory to see all the exotic plants before heading home. Well, some 30 years later, I now take my boys to the park for what I hope will become childhood memories of their own. Sadly, the animals are no longer there and the playground has changed a lot but the boys still have great fun. They can ride their bikes along the winding paths - creating their own adventures in the more overgrown areas. Even our dog enjoys the huge park area. There are still plenty of beautiful green lawn areas to enjoy a picnic and plenty of ice cream vans in summer to enjoy an obligatory ice cream. The cafe isn't quite what it was in its heyday but you can pick up a burger and chips or cup of tea if that's what you need. Just across the road from the park is the boating lake which offers boat rides and an opportunity to feed the ducks when little legs run out of steam. You could easily spend a day out at this magnificent park.

The leisure centre has much to offer such as two swimming pools; one large one for adults and a smaller one for children and teaching swimming lessons. Also within the centre is a large sports hall for football fanatics for 5 a side football as well as badminton, basketball and many other activities. The fitness suite is brilliant. Its all brand new and up to date and has over 100 stations and its nice and cool to so you don't get too warm when your working them muscles! Outside they have a fantastic synthetic turf ground for 6 a side football which is popular with many people. Not only that but they have dance studios, squash courts, spas, saunas and a relaxation area!! It is amazing. If you are looking to get fit or just want to participate in salsa classes or boxercise, Copley Recreation Centre is an ideal place to start whilst not breaking the bank.

An area in the park where the previous house was sited, is particularly beautiful in my view and the perfect location for photographs of special occassions. The fault - no toilets!!!! Does the council want the encourage people relieving themselves behind walls and bushes, leaving tissues paper, which will just add a litter problem to the park. The buildings are there, the sign posts are there and the toilets are indicated on the large map at the entrance of the park - the notice on the doors of the once toilets, states: Closed for the foreseeable future - we all know this means for eternity! I was very disappointed, as I planned to bring my mother and father here along with other family and friends for a quiet picnic - Sorry this won't happen, they will not enjoy the pleasures of this park, nor beneift from the hard work put into this park as unfortunate it may be, they are human and do have the need to have a pee - tescos is a little too far for an elderly person to dash to in an enmergency - and why should they, they are visiting the park not the supermarket. Get a grip, provide facilites, they don't have to be 'state of the art', they need to be clean and functional. Very disappointed Stalybridge visitor.

Thank heavens for Head Over Heels! Finally a children's play area that doesn't stink of smelly…read morefeet! I have been coming here for years with children and it is a well organised, well designed soft play area for birth to 10 years old. The infants' section is small but integrated with the larger children's area and toddlers race around on the equipment without a care in the world. The bigger play area is a large fairy tale castle like structure with three levels of fun and a great ball pit where the rugrats can have a ball shower. What sets Head Over Heels apart from other indoor play areas is that parents can watch children from the sidelines on soft leather couches as opposed to on harsh plastic chairs that other places seem to favour. The restaurant is lovely if not a little expensive and they do panninis, pizzas, an all day breakfast , and a nice cappucino and cake which you can indulge in as the older children zoom down the red astro slide. Head over Heels is just a nice, clean and well air-conditioned place for kids and adults alike and £5 is a small price to pay for peace whilst your little ones are occupied for an hour and a half. My children have held several parties here and the staff have been amazing. For £11 per child, the party group have 60 minutes play downstairs and then go into a disco room while parents can relax in the restaurant watching their children on tv screens. Then its off to the separate party area where they are served healthy snacks including: fish goujons, cucumber, carrot sticks, grapes, olives and pizza. Each guest takes home a balloon and a party bag and have a good night's sleep afterwards. It is advisable to book a few months in advance if you are interested in having your child's party here though as it gets booked up early. This place is head over heels above any other the kids have been to. Well worth a visit!

The play equipment is well maintained, clean and replaced regularly. It's bright and inviting and the big red slide is great for adults as much as kids. There's comfy sofas for when you're not chasing them round and the facilities are clean, and functional. The sections for younger and older children are clearly defined and the cafe is amazing. The menu has tasty, healthy options, the food's freshly prepared and cooked on the premises. There's no frozen processed deep fat fried nuggets here - it's chicken breast goujons! We've had 3 parties ourselves here and attended numerous others. The staff are warm, welcoming and helpful. It might seem pricy per head, but the food's included and of a higher standard than most places and you don't have to tidy up afterwards. All you have to do is bring party bags and a cake and the kids. It does get ridiculously busy on Saturdays, rainy days, school holidays and the only negative comment is that they seem to have relaxed their maximum capacity rule and it gets a bit too rowdy. I've witnessed some serious head on collisions with far too many kids running round. My suggestion is to go out side of peak times to get the maximum out of the place, a longer stay and less anxiety about a bump and tears at the end of a great day out. And DO try the ginger bread men - they're the best by far

For a Manchester park it seems to have very few scallies hanging about in it, making it a very pleasant place for a quick stroll or even a picnic (maybe). There is a football pitch, which apparently has an air raid shelter underneath it, a kids play area and a bowling green. Alongside Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens, Old Parsonage Gardens, Marie Louise Gardens and Fog Lane Park, Didsbury Park contributes to the leafy green spaces which make a welcome break from the café culture and bus fumes of Wilmslow Road.
