This cafe is along the Genuss zu Fuss (a 7 km nature/culinary hiking trail) and Eifel Krimi (local crime trail) and near to an 11th Century castle in the quaint (sleepy) German town of Kerpen. The owner speaks beautiful English (studied in the States) and the menus are handmade with quotes, photos, and menu items (Flammenkuchen, Quiche Lorraine, etc.) scrapbooked together.

The Reibekuchen is also worth trying - it's nothing like you find at street stalls. Also freshly prepared, the flavour is amazing and not dripping with oil (again, not your usual Christmas-market fare!). It was a pleasant surprise to find it comes with some salad and salmon - yum! The location is great and staff very friendly. Definitely sit outside in the square if the sun is shining.
