My first Sunday checking out Bay Hills, I was beyond nervous. I knew almost no one. I hadn't been to church in decades and I wasn't where I wanted to be with God. I wasn't even completely ready to socialize, but I took a leap of faith and showed up to check this place out. The second I walked up to the doors, I was greeted by two sincere people and with many other smiles. The music had already started and it was positive, encouraging and moving. I felt God in the worship. The message began and it made me laugh, cry (yes in the first day...lol) and think. The dermon was completely based on scripture. He used comprehensive examples, hilarious stories, and I didn't catch myself zoning out or checking the time...which...to be completely honest, I'm prone to in uncomfortable situations. Afterwards, I helped myself to coffee and doughnuts and bumped into a few people i knew! They were excited and surprised to see me there and we caught up. They introduced me to someone else who showed my the childrens ministry (epic!) And the nursery was a DREAM for me as a new mom. Time was flying, and before I knew it, I had to head out. I came back the next week...and haven't stopped going since. The messages at Bay Hills have helped me become the closest to God I've ever been, and the friendships i've made over the past 7 years are such an important aspect of my life. As an active member, I am now happily involved with the church including the children's ministry and small groups. Learning about the churches structure and community over the years has only made me feel more and more blessed to have found such a Jesus-focused, diverse, sincere, honest, and fun place to call home. read more

My wife and I first came to this church in 2012. We had been at Hilltop Community church for a few years prior, but after their assistant pastor left, we didn't really feel like anything was keeping us there. We stumbled across this church after a few teenagers were overheard talking highly about, and that caught my attention because what teenager likes church? We came in on Father's Day, and there was so much good going on. Fun, friendliness, community, laughter, celebration, joy. The kind of environment you would expect Jesus to actually participate in. Well, 6 Year's later almost, and we're still here. We are involved in the fitness and fun small group. The pastor knows us on a first name basis. Our son became acclimated to a classroom setting through the children's ministry. He comes home singing songs, and has friends in preschool that are also in his Sunday school class. I've bumped into friends and coworkers here. It's an amazing place to connect. The church is active and does stuff. And serves. And isn't pretentious. They're funny. The message is real. It's relevant. It's convicting. We actually stick around after service to talk with people. (Free coffee and donuts doesn't hurt either). read more

My wife and I met at Cal a few years ago. Both of us had attended church on and off growing up but both of us were far from regulars at the time we met. Knowing that she was "the one", I wanted to find a good church home where we could grow as a couple. We searched all over the East Bay (churches in Berkeley, Hercules, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek to name a few) but we knew we had found our home when we walked into Bay Hills. The people there have helped us to be better in our marriage and as parents. The kids ministry is fun and engaging. Our daughter is excited to go and her leaders care about her and know her. We love that! I know that no church is perfect and that not all people have the same experience walking into a church, whether it's the first or hundredth time, but I can say that there are many people at BH who care and want to give you practical steps for taking your next step. read more

If you aren't going to Bay Hills, you are missing out. I may be a little biased because I've been going here for 20 plus years; however, I LOVE everything about Bay Hills (BH). I started coming as a youth when I was invited to attend youth group by a neighbor and since then I have always felt extremely welcome here. It's my favorite place to be on Sunday mornings and usually my favorite day of the week. The church has grown a lot since my early years and there are always people I don't know but there is always at least one and most always many friendly faces to welcome you. The volunteers and staff are some of the most warm and loving people. To combat the growing population, BH has small groups, outreach programs, friendly ushers and coffee, donuts and bagel time between services to help give people an opportunity to connect on a deeper level. Two of my personal favorite things about BH are the worship and pastor. We recently hired a new worship pastor who is phenomenal. Besides the fact that Pablo is super talented he has a way with helping you to feel the spirit through the songs he chooses. The lead pastor David Fasold truly has a gift. He's an excellent public speaker who never disappoints. His messages are clear and practical and you leave with tools to take with you into the week. And this says a lot because I have the attention span of a two year old and so if someone can hold my attention they are golden. Another thing I must add is that the children's ministry is amazing. My three year old actually wants to come to church. They always have fun activities and crafts for the kids. If you're hunting for a new church, looking for change, or just want to have a good time, you must give Bay Hills a shot. I guarantee you will thank me!!!!!!!!!! You're welcome. read more

Our home church for 17 years. We've been there from the days of 200, to now over 1,000 people weekly. Our kids are 13 & 15 and have grown up in the church. Kids and Student ministries are fabulous, welcoming, and educational. I've been part of Women's Ministry, Missions Ministry and Small Groups. So many ways to get connected - even for the newest people who visit! Very relatable, relevant sermons, the music is fun and engaging, staff is helpful and friendly. This is a Evangelical church I go to weekly. Pastor Dave who mostly ministers each week provides hope, strength, renewal of spirit, and love through the word of God. He isn't biased or selfish or dishonest with the content, he really does stick with the gospel and conveys a striking and compassionate message for whatever the topic may be about that certain day. He as well as the other staff do a great job inspiring us to live better. I've been going here with my family for almost a year and I can say this is a Church with a strong foundation. Every time I go I feel revived, motivated to the fullest. The band is most exceptional, there are usually 3 guitarist, a bass, and two others electronic, a drummer, and singers. One of the guitarist there plays really well. You can follow along the two projectors that show the lyrics of each song as they play short movie clips related to the pastor's topic too which is interesting. The only problem is that the location is at a high school gymnasium but it's still decorated to look like a church. I think the future of this service is going to be somewhere else. Parking can be limited but there are free Krispy Kreme donuts after each service. Come along and visit, you won't regret it. read more

I was normally attending "Abundant Life Christian Fellowship" in Mountain View, CA but the Pastor that I would go see (Pastor Paul Sheppard) is no longer at the church. A member of ALCF recomended Bay Hills (since I live so close to Bay Hills) she said her husband's brother goes to this church and he loves it! I decided to give Bay Hills a try (after a couple of hesitations, I am a baby christian) and from the first time I got there until the ending, I fell in love too! Pastor Dave is awesome! He preaches in a way for you to understand, keeps you uplifted and cracks jokes every now and then. The worship team is also good, rockin the songs away! Although it's in a gym it still feels like you are in a church, but that shouldn't matter right? Recomend recomend, Recomend! read more

I can't say enough good things about this Church. Pastor David Fasole is a master at explaining biblical principles in plain easy to understand language and he does it with humor. I love how the worship services are focused and fresh. It's not uncommon to see the pastor use visual demonstrations to explain or drive home a point. I am loving this church so much that I am seriously considering transferring my membership from a presbyterian church to Bay Hills. Give this house a worship a visit. I was/am looking for a church to attend and I stumbled upon Bay Hills through the Contra Costa Marketplace. Getting there was a bit difficult because even though I had the address, when I found the church, it was empty! Ten minutes before services were to start. So I drive a little further, and low and behold, I find where their worship services are held. What got me interested in this church is that they have a contemporary worship service. Meaning, they have a Praise & Worship team with modern music. So far I have only been to one of the services, but I will definately be back. Hopefully it will be easier to meet some people. It's always difficult to walk in to a church when you don't know anyone and no one knows you. You just get lost in the crowd, and that's what happened to me at my first visit. read more

I cannot express enough how much we (my family and I) love this church! My husband and I grew up Catholic and only went to church on Christmas and maybe Easter, we were not church goes AT ALL. A friend of ours brought us to Bay Hills for the first time 6 months ago and we have been going every week since! We even started joining the small groups they offer as well. Their kids program is AMAZING! we have a 2 and 4 year old and they look forward to going to church on Sundays and to all the events the church is hosting. The classrooms are clean, colorful and the staff in the children's program are all great. They have security outside the classroom door which I actually LOVE. Lets be real.. you can never be too careful when it comes to your kids now a days. Pastor Dave is so amazing at what he does, and makes service fun and so relatable to everyday life. He is so funny and makes service entertaining and always keeps your attention. He has power point slides during service that you can tell he spends a lot of time on and they are easy to follow with your study guide you get at the door; although he keeps you so engaged you don't need to look at the slides if you don't want too. He is friendly and approachable as well if you want to talk to him after service. Lastly but certainly not least...The band is so AWESOME! I literally feel like I am at a concert every Sunday! They always play current music and music that gets you up on your feet and dancing! They have 3 service times now 830am, 10am, and 1130 am so you have several times to choose from. ;) read more

I love Bay Hills. I've been going there for about four years. The preaching is solidly Biblical and presented in an engaging (and often funny) way. The music is awesome. People are friendly and everyone dresses in a way that's comfortable for them. Getting involved in a small group is a wonderful way to make new friends, learn more about God, and be part of the community. read more

After searching for a church for two years in Los Angeles.. I sincerely prayed that I did not have to go through that search again moving back to the bay area. I went to only about three churches before I stumbled upon Bay Hills. No one recommended it to me I just saw there blue sign and admired the advertisement in the shopping center plaza. After debating if this was for me, on Easter Sunday I knew it. It is a very diverse church. Friendly people, family oriented. Lots of kids and pastries after service!! :-D The absolute best part though is Pastor Dave speaks God's Word crisp and clear. You do not walk away questioning what the sermon was about. He studies the Word and translates it so effortlessly. I have been in the church for years and have never heard the bible the way he preaches it. I think it is because he actually studies and is definitely called to teach. You can verify what he is saying.. you don't have to feel like it was made up.. He gives practical application of the word... and the sermons are short and sweet... Not that I can not be under the teaching longer. I am very happy to say the least that I have chosen to be apart of this church. I would say give it a try for 4-8 Sundays. He makes the bible so smooth you will have to go that many times just to realize it is ok to digest the word in such a simple but simultaneously deep manner. read more

My family has been going here for a few years now since moving to El Cerrito from Martinez. We still go to a catholic church in Pleasant Hill occasionally when spending time with family over there, but go to Bay Hills when we're home. The sermons are great: well-thought out and presented, and always supported with bible verses. The band and singers that lead the worship part of the service are very talented, and the songs are moving. Overall, the service is about an hour and it goes by fast. My toddlers look forward to the Sunday school and donuts/bagels after service. I also love the easy parking in the old Circuit City. The church does a lot for the community so I'm happy to be a part of it. read more

There are not enough good things to say about Bay Hills. Bay Hills is an Evangelical Free Church (definitely not Baptist). We were looking for another church to attend because the church where my children and I were raised just did not suit our needs any longer. We opted for Bay Hills because we had always heard wonderful things and finally attended about a year ago. We knew immediately we were at the right place because each sermon and worship service is so moving and inspirational. Pastor Dave explains Biblical terms and scripture in laymen's terms so we can thoroughly understand AND apply scriptures to our daily lives. Bay Hills is warm and welcoming and you feel a tug at your heartstrings each and every service. My children love to go as well and that says alot about a church when your children are anxious to attend services. I have made a wealth of new friends and reunited with people that I knew growing up. Nothing is better than sitting with my family and friends beside me as we worship the Lord. It is truly an amazing place to be and I can assure you that you will be welcomed with open arms. The programs for children are awesome and the various small group Bible studies and retreats cannot be surpassed. Such wonderful opportunities here and such an active and prosperous church.
