I once tracked a game with GPS and ran 5k within one session. They're reasonably priced - I've bought two £50 packages, each of which covers 10 games to be used anytime - and switch between North, South, and City; once a month is an epic North vs South playoff. Before you think this is like BMF but with "childish" games, come check out a session. Everyone enjoys themselves all the time. (Compare the smiling faces of Rabblers to the scowls of any other fitness group.) Charlotte & Rosemary, who run the sessions, are encouraging and playful themselves and never want anyone to have a bad time; there are no sore losers in Rabble! It's just the right amount of competitive for those who can't dedicate so much time and energy to playing an amateur sport, and while you'll be missed if you don't show up, the team won't lose because you're not there as teams are semi-randomly assigned at the start of each session. The question remains: do you run faster when you're chasing or being chased?? Either way, I've definitely improved my fitness over the past year with this gang and had a blast to boot. All sessions end with a trip to the pub for drinks (weeknights) or lunch (weekends). It's a great crowd!

There are a lot of throwbacks to your time on the playground, and it actually is super fun- when I first went it wasn't when I was converted to gym-bunniness either. It's outdoors, so it's as fresh as you can get for London, and gosh does it make you competitive! I don't know if it's because it's team games where you're against others, or because you refuse to be out of breath and lose at a game in your twenties that you won so much in first school, but it works! Make sure you take enough water, especially if it's hot.

It's kind of a lousy plot. First-Hand Experience: I like EUFC more than the other teams in this area. They have a real following down here and they play with a passion and with good coaching too. I went to a game here with Steven and we thought they were one of the better teams we'd seen out of the non league south coast teams. So they score a solid 4 from me. As the old school review from the cute chick says, Eastbourne United might play the prettiest football in one of the prettiest towns in the UK. They get a loyal following and have much cheaper ticket prices than any of the other teams I'm reviewing. So good luck to them in rising up the leagues and may they someday eclipse or at least equal the Borough.

Based off Prince's Park, The Oval is easily accessible to all, and tickets to games are reasonable - around £4-5 if memory serves me correctly. The stands and grounds need work admittedly, but a planning application is with the council to give the site a complete makeover. Currently managed by Brian Dennis, Eastbourne United AFC are a promising young side, who are considered by many to be an attractive side in their play. Many Eastbourne Borough fans will go to watch United when both Borough and Eastbourne Town are away. Kick off on Saturdays is the typical 3pm and midweek games generally start at 7.45pm. There can be exceptions on Bank Holidays, when kick off is earlier, or cup games. They compete for the Sussex Senior Cup, FA Vase and the John O'Hara League Cup. Whenever I visit the club, I find the members, management and players to be friendly and helpful. It's also a good ground to take children to, as there doesn't tend to be too much swearing either coming off the field or from the spectators.

Food is also served and drinks are pretty cheap. There is a large hall used for various functions including dances and badminton. It can also be hired for a fee.

The Falmer Sports complex is the premier Sports centre on campus being home to a decent gym with…read morefree weights, weight machines, running machines and cross trainers etc... The sports complex sits right at the top of the hill, just of the Refectory road, which leads out of the University. On top of its impressive gym, inside, outside too it has a large Hockey pitch which doubles up as two sizeable 6 aside football pitches as well as tennis courts and 6 well maintained full size grass football pitches. Brighton and Hove Albion first team train on the pitches and use the gym, which of course is a testament to its quality. Price wise, gym membership is incredibly good value for money if you are going a few times a week at £130 for the year (for students) and a less good, but still not bad £360 for the general public. Due to the large price drop for students, I would highly recommend this gym for people still studying.

Here you hire your own personal glade in the Wood complete with fire pit, cute carved benches and your personal cooking grate to knock up a truly rustic feast. The location is really beautiful and while you are in the country and will certainly need a car to reach to site, it's still close enough to Brighton (about 4 miles from Ditchling) to be easily accessible. Be warned though, this place is immensely popular and weekend stays are already fully booked for the summer season of 2010. You can check for availability of glades on their website and you may get lucky and find a slot from a cancellation. The lady who runs the site lives in a caravan at the campsite, complete with chickens running about the place. She has a small shop with supplies including milk and firewood. There are also showers and proper toilets. If you don't feel like sleeping in a tent there are also a number of buses, Gypsy caravans and suchlike to hire for a more comfortable stay. The prices are reasonable and this is really a great way to camp, whilst still retaining the magic of the experience. A real gem and unique approach to a great British pastime. I cannot recommend this place enough!
