Browse through the books , buy your fare ..sit near the riverside(its located very close to the river medway) and read your book. Books are easy to find as there are clearly categorised , but not every book can be found. There is a section for some children's toys too.

Chener Books is a good local bookshop. They have a pretty good selection of books and the staff…read morehere is friendly. I came in looking for the most obscure book ever written by one of the most obscure authors ever. Of course they didn't have it, but they provided me with pretty pertinent information that will help me on my pursuit of this title. They told me that the whole of the UK doesn't sell this book and I'm better off flying to the States to buy it. At least my wild goose chase is over. Back to the store: it's tiny, but its shelves are packed with mentally and emotionally compelling titles. I didn't see any discounts in here, but like with most independent bookstores they are too hard-up to discount. So if you don't mind paying a pound more for the same title that you would buy from Waterstone's for less come and support this local shop. They're awesome, and if you're looking for a title if it's sold in the UK they can order it for you.

(I have no doubt the cafe is excellent, as the reviews here confirm.) The sales staff was absolutely top-notch, and while the staff person was busy identifying several of the books by John Berger that were available, he and I had a nice conversation about Berger. As it turns out, London Review was involved in the publication of one of Berger's recent books, so of course they had it in stock. A truly superb bookshop, for new books, stocked with a highly discerning eye.

My friend Sharon brought me here and she is an avid reader. If you love interesting books, this is a treasure trove with books covering a whole multitude of subjects. The staff are excellent at recommending and finding specific books for you There's a little cafe next door to the bookshop - reading can induce an appetitie, don't you know? We chose the intriguing courgette and lemon curd cake as well as the mixed berry cheesecake The courgette and lemon curd cake was great - a subtle hint of courgette so as not to be too vegetabley but lovely and moist with more dominant lemon flavour. Their craft stuff is great, and they do all sorts of interesting bits for scrapbooking and card making. Their art and craft equipment is fantastic for students and serious artists. Their childrens books are a bargain, but i find their adult books a bit of a let down, there is usually hardly anything to suit my tastes in their fiction section, and their non fiction isnt that great either. The do some nice little novelties around christmas time and other festivals, and their cards and wrapm are reasonably priced. The staff arent the greatest and seem quite disinterested, but not rude. Worth a visit.
