Disgusting. This hotel, motel really, is pre-dirty before you enter the room, I don't believe they own a broom or vacuum. The shower rod is falling out of the wall only being held up with rusty screws, everything that was metal was rusted, the tub was separating from the wall (probably has a ton of mold buildup behind the walls) the walls had paint touch ups everywhere throughout the room in the wrong color so it looks super trashy, the curtain track was broken so you can close the curtains all the way, floors are carpet and somehow sticky, walls are chipping away, the brown blanket on the bed had holes, sockets are coming away from the wall AND they kept my $100 deposit. I came into town to attend a wedding. The location was set at a park which left hotel accommodations slim. The bride set aside rooms at The Baymont which when I called was not offered to me. I decided to book the suite. The photos online, looked decent for the price. However, my experience was anything but decent. To start, there is no elevator, which we had to walk up a flight of stairs with our luggage. The room was not what I picked online. The room had not been cleaned thoroughly. All the lampshades were stained and caked with dust. All the furniture was damaged, varnish coming off the corners, every surface nicked and stratched as well as missing drawer knobs. There were stains on the dust ruffle of the bed as well as on the ironing board. There was no hair dryer. The soap dispensers were empty, no bath towels and no extra blankets or pillows. Also, There was a lovely crack running across the glass window. This Hotel is disgusting, I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, this place needs a health inspection and needs to be completely closed down read more

We got a room during the water main break, we didn't stay overnight, we would go during the day to shower and go home. That said , the room was clean and so was the bathroom. Never saw anyone on the front desk . The pool was closed for repairs but didn't see anyone working nor signs of work in progress. read more

There has been many new changes for the better, I like the music selection that they have in the morning during the breakfast hours, and the cherry mahogany tables, plus the hallways are kept quiet, I love the fact that it's a pet friendly hotel, though there still needs to be more tweaking in the hotel, overall, I do recommend it: Small Update: Maybe an elevator can be installed?? I needed a local hotel since I was coming in for a family reunion type of party, and other relatives had many at their homes so we opted for a local hotel so we would be close to the festivities. This place needs a lot of work! I thought being a Wyndham property maybe it wouldn't be so bad.. this is a place where the handyman they use is not very good and nobody checks on his work.. the rooms smell like smoke , the paint job is awful, the toilet seat didn't even for the toilet correctly so if you say on it it would slip and you thought you would fall off! The mattresses were uncomfortable and we had to go buy soap as none of the dispensers worked, and we didn't even have soap to wash our hands when we got there. I'd pick a better brand , maybe holiday Inn would be more reliable? Wyndham needs to step it up!! read more

This hotel was recommended through a deal by Alaska Airlines (car rental and hotel deal). The pictures were great, there was a restaurant inside the hotel, and it was close to my event. Upon arriving to the hotel, the hotel was run down and looked nothing like its pictures. The room had a horrible musty smell and the bathroom was so heavily chalked, it was like they were trying to cover mold. There didn't seem to be dust, and the sheets were clean, but it wasn't pleasant. I tried to talk to the front counter about how the hotel was actually 40 minutes from my event and not 10 minutes like it originally said. The guy said I couldn't get my money back because I booked through a third party. The pictures online were clearly false advertising and the restaurant wasn't even open. I was too exhausted to fight with the guy so I left. Take the 1.3 stars as accurate and do not believe the pictures online. read more

I Have truly never been so disgusted in my life as I was after checking into the Baymont in Pompton Plains! I pulled the blankets down to find dirty sheets full of hair! I then checked the second bed and that too had hair in the sheets. I called the front desk and the clerk arrived with a different room Key. We looked at and checked beds in the following rooms, 111,112,115 and 121. All beds were dirty and had other peoples hair in them . DISGUSTING! Boy, I wish we had read the reviews of this place before we stayed here. I usually do not leave bad reviews, but this was one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The room and hallways had a foul odor. The sheets were dirty. The remote control didn't work, lights were broken, furniture was disgustingly old and dirty. It was just gross! The hallway carpet looked like a crime scene. But all of this was overshadowed when one of the hotel workers tried to enter our room at 10:45pm without knocking. Thankfully we had the security latch on. When my husband went to the door, the man asked what name the room was under? Hello, check your damn computer. I have never, ever heard of a hotel employee just coming in a room to check to see who is staying there. We were totally blown away! After complaining the next morning, they refunded $60 for our "trouble". I hope people will read this review, and decide to stay elsewhere. I sure wish we had! read more

This is by far one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The second you walked in it felt dirty. It's dark, dingy, and has a strange odor. All hours of the night through the paper thin walls you hear people in and out of their rooms. The side door is supposed to be locked from 8pm-6am and it didn't even close all the way. I felt like we were staying in a crack den. We checked out at 5am because we couldn't stand to be there for another minute. There were stains on the sheets. House keeping didn't want to give us extra sheets because "it wasn't their room to clean". Wyndham should be ashamed that this hotel has their name on it. read more

Stayed here in mid-March and had to cancel our final night due to safety concerns/Covid-19. Had booked it through Expedia and talked with the manager, Mary about the cancellation and getting a refund for the last of our booked nights. She said I had to talk to Expedia about the refund for night 3. Could not get in touch with Expedia via phone, email or chat, for over 3 weeks due to everyone else canceling through them for covid-19. Finally got someone at Expedia to reply on Apr 29 and they reached out to the manager. Manager referenced the cancelation policy which does state it's at the discretion of the hotel... so they can make exceptions (I would think covid-19 would be an exception, but apparently not). So manager won't allow a refund for the final night even though I personally spoke with her and canceled it for safety and went home to get further away from the NYC area. Hotel hallway smelled like marijuana, the exterior doors never locked at night (didn't need a room key at 1030pm or at 7am, to get in a side door- we checked), very scraggly looking people were hanging around the back of the hotel near doors and the back of the hotel lot was creepy and land had trash (this entire section of NJ looks trashy). I would NOT stay here. The photos online made me think it was a decent place to stay but as we pulled up to the hotel and had to insist that the front desk clerk give us a room close to the front (he was going to put us at the back), I should've known this wasn't going to work our well. If I could give it zero stars, I would. This hotel is a dump! Do not let the nice sign on Route 23 fool you. Although the facade looks nice, when you enter the door to your room or the lobby you will encounter an ancient relic of a motel that has long since see its better days. The room was filthy, the carpet needed to be replaced, the ac/heater barely put out air, but the noise kept you up all night. The bed was hard as a rock with worn out sheets and blankets. The only redeeming quality were the assorted teas at the breakfast bar. Avoid this hotel at all costs. It is overpriced, poorly maintained and in desperate need of a facelift. The ice machines don't work, the pool still hasn't been cleaned out from this winter, and the WIFI might work. Smokers sit right under the sign that says no smoking within 25 feet. If I could give 0 stars I would first off MOLDDDD We opened our curtains to find the ceiling by the window had been molded and falling off, pieces of mold infested ceiling falling all over the floor air conditioner and windowsill. When we called the front desk the man said "I'll have someone check on that in the morning" and hung up on me. So I filled a garbage can up with this mold and brought it to the front desk where the man told me "you could have just left that outside your room" and walked away. Will post pictures & update on what happens when I speak to manager tomorrow also contacting Heath department. Not only mold but the bathtub doesn't fill, soap dispensers lotion & shampoo all empty had to go to front desk to get that. I've stayed here before and in both rooms the bathtub doesn't fill up, cold water, empty soap dispenser, rust and room smelt weird. Not my first choice of a hotel. We were searching for a hotel closer to New York without spending an arm and a leg. They really need to tidy up their cleaning and the smell of the rooms. As soon as we went to get to the outside entrance we found a huge spider on the wall right by the door. Not very comforting. I personally would not stay here again for $200 a night! Complimentary breakfast with waffles or make your own pancakes. No eggs or bacon, which is normally something you expect at breakfast time. The service I dealt with Was unacceptable . I booked a room a week in advance , I arrived to the property to check in , unbeknownst to me my executive room was giving away and I was given a cheaper room but still charged for an executive suite price . The young chinese girl at the desk was very nonchalant about the situation . she never gave me her name when I asked Her, so the only way I can make her company aware of who I'm talking about is by describing her by her ethnicity . She didn't even want to issue me a refund of my money . She lied and said it's no way to issue a refund for same day service , which I knew was a lie because I do her job for a living and I know you can void a receipt and issue a refund same day service . Luckily a coworker of hers walked in and helped me Get my refund back in my account less then a minute . I've been to this Hotel millions of times and this is the first time I ever had deal with someone so disrespectful and un helpful . I hope the manger Mary sees this and report her because no one who spends they hard earned money should be treated this way . read more
