If I could give this no stars I would. The advertised pool that I was looking forward to after driving on I-95 all day is permanently closed. The room itself was disgusting. Something was on the toilet seat, the tub was crusty, the mini fridge had been unplugged for awhile, the freezer thawed and apparently it had been sitting like that for awhile. The bedding and furniture was so cheap. At the least the room needed scrubbed with a pressure washer and repainted. Then, as we were leaving (we only stayed because we were exhausted) a man loudly berated a cleaning girl for locking the key to the room she just cleaned in the room. In another place and time my husband would have stood up for the girl but this character looked shady, and in this day and age you never know just what could happen. There was trash around the outside and on the steps. This will not let me add the photos which are proof as to how disgusting this place is. read more

Horrible hotel! Walked into first room and found shit stained towels. Peeling paint on ceiling dead roach on floor and overall dirty look to the room. Complained about it and asked for another room. They brought me to another room with the ceiling peeling as well. Was told they are trying to clean it up. They finally showed me another room that at least the ceiling paint wasn't peeling. The towels were crap I had to rinse out the shower before I used it as it had hair in it. The sink had toothpaste residue in it from a previous guest. The overhead light did not work at all and there were bare wires hanging out of an outlet box on the wall where I guess a sconce had been. The floor could have been cleaned and at least swept as I found dirt and other crap around. I would suggest Wyndham take its name off this property to avoid any further damage to their brand. read more

I never leave bad reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience.... EVERYTHING is old or broken. Tv broken, fridge broken, ice machine broken, pillows gross, checkin took forever because I had to hunt down front desk worker, and no breakfast due to covid. I could respect that if I thought for a SECOND they cared about cleanliness. Just AVOID seriously. We are only here for a few hours, so it's not worth standing in the long line at the front desk to try and get a refund and go somewhere else. read more

This place is a dump. Room smells like smoke, bathroom wasn't clean, and the sheets smelled like BO. I slept in my clothes and laid my clean clothes on my bed to sleep on it was disgusting. The only reason I am giving it one star was the girl at the front desk was nice. read more

It is four years after my initial review, and I am disappointed in several things in this trip. First I will state the positives. My king bed was comfortable, the heat worked very well on cold "spring" nights, and the environment was quiet. The furnishings of the room were in good condition, and everything appeared clean. On the other hand . . . Made my reservation via the Wyndham website, using my company's discount code for the discounted rate we are supposed to get. The website allowed a discount on a room with two double beds, but any other room, including the king that I prefer, was listed at a significantly higher rate. I went ahead and booked the discounted 2 double bed room. I did call the property a day later, and they blamed the pricing on a website glitch, and did allow me to change to a king room for the same rate. When I arrived to check in, I was told no king rooms were available on the fist floor as I had requested in my reservations. I inquired why my request wasn't being honored, as I did make the reservations days in advance and I am a member of their loyalty rewards program. Clerk had no answer and just had this "you going to take the room I assigned you or not" attitude. I reluctantly took the room. First thing that hit me in the face when I went in the room was the strong smell of Indian curry food - the same smell I get in some lobbies when the motel owner lives on premises right behind the office. Everytime I re entered the room during my stay I got that same unpleasant odor. They have a quirky TV operation. After being unsuccessful in several attempts to change the tv channel and volume via the remote I went to the office and asked to change remotes. The clerk informed me that I have to manually find the on/off button to the side of the tv set and use that and then the remote works. That solved the problem, but why would a guest have to do that (and why not tell me this when I checked in?) Finally I need to comment on the appearance of the public areas. The place is dirty and and serious need of a good spring cleaning and general maintenance. Overall very disappointed in my stay. read more

Front desk was polite and courteous. The room....well you are at a budget hotel. The room wasn't the cleanest. The table between the beds hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The chair in the room need thrown out. Old carpet and cabinets. One bed sounded like it was broke. The shower has great pressure and when we asked for towels they were provided Since we are in a "pandemic" it should have been on the website that there will not be any breakfast. They serve coffee from 6-8 if you drink coffee. You get what you pay for. But was expecting a little more from a Wyndham establishment. read more

Looked fine by the pictures; little did I know. When we arrived, concierge wasn't there, took her a few minutes to arrive to the location. We were placed in room 211, the room stank like smoke, and the trash had not been cleaned from previous visitors - obviously giving me the vibes the room probably wasn't clean. We got moved to room 210, there was no toilet paper, the bed didn't have blankets, and there was no noise control in the property. Sounded like a party going on next door. Keep in mind it's 1 am by the time we get the room situation settled. Concierge was thoughtful enough to change our room but overall management is very poor. ALSO, at our arrival we were informed there was no breakfast, which was the only reason we booked this place. No Boucher, no discount, nothing. Don't waste your time here paying $55 with better hotels for $10 accesos the street, regret for sure. read more

Returning home to South Florida from Washington, D.C. my daughter and I spent a single night at the Baymont Roanoke Rapids in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Location is very convenient to Interstate 95. Booked through a third-party booking service, we were seeking value and convenience - not luxury and splendor. And for $47.00 - including tax - it was all about the value. Desk clerk was friendly and polite - we were quickly assigned to room 215, which contained two double beds. Room was marginally clean and functional - cable television seemed on the blink. Bathroom had only two towels and half a roll of toilet paper. Shower had a few hair strands around the drain. Just an overnight stay of about 10 hours before heading home. Value and convenience was sought - value and convenience was received. Nothing more - nothing less. William E. Traveling back up north from Florida I saw advertisement booklet for hotels. There were coupons with reasonable prices. All the ads said call first, the Baymont and they said they had 2 rooms left. The kiosk below the hotel sign stated Cont breakfast. At the registration window (not lobby) it stated breakfast will not be served referring to COVID (change you sign then we been dealing with COVID for over a year). The hotel is falling apart and look like they were just slapping it together. All I needed was a bed and a morning shower. Now I walked bare foot on the floor twice to the bathroom. But during my morning shower I noticed black water coming from my feet. After drying myself I shuffled to the bed on the floor towel. The picture of the underside of the floor towel is worth a thousand word. Anyone there believe in mopping the floor once in a while. I also got a bad case of athletes' foot afterwards. read more

This hotel had 7.8 stars on another website. When I got into my hotel there were no towels, washcloths, and the stool was stopped up. We called the front desk, but they could not do anything until 6 am. At 3 am they had a fire alarm malfunction. We called the front desk again told them of our issues and they assured us that someone would come first thing. Never happened... To top it all off I've killed 6 roaches just this morning. Best hotel yet. I took the ac vents out so the air would blow, Pawpaw's chair had been used one to many times. Don't forget to get a plunger when showering backs up a little. They threw away the vacuum so don't forget your house shoes to walk around. Oh I almost forgot uncle Leroy's garage uses the bath towels to wipe their hands on. Good luck read more

Booked a reservation here on 6/7/2017 while on my way down to Myrtle Beach. Booked at 7pm..... Arrived at 11p expecting a room and the clerk said they ran out of rooms although I had a paid reservation! Said they had ran out of rooms around 8pm but they didn't bother to advise Hotels.com or call me.... nope we get there exhausted and ready for bed to be told screw you not my problem.... We waited while on the phone with hotels.com and while waiting in the lobby of this pet friendly hotel, fleas were jumping on my companion and I. FLEAS! Needless to say we finished the conversation with hotels.com in the car as to not get further contaminated with fleas.... Thankfully hotels.com was helpful and walked us to a nicer location a few miles away..... if that is the service and condition of their hotels from Baymont, I will not be staying at one ever again.... #nasty. #fleasareicky read more

I was going to visit Orlando with friends and we decided to stop somewhere near Roanoke Rapids, NC. I googled and found this to be a good deal and thought, "what the heck, I'll take it." I was most pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the place, the staff was most courteous even though it was past midnight. The bed, bedding, sheets and pillows were neat and comfortable. That is the most important thing for me when I stay somewhere. I slept like a log. Next morning was not too bad either, this place is conveniently located near most restaurants and enough distance from I-95 to not bother with the noise. The only thing I noticed was that I had to run the water for a bit to get hot water, I would rather not waste water. Once the hot water started, it was fine. I would stop there again and so would my friends, it was a great deal overall. :-) read more

Zero Stars. I came down from DC to visit family and reserved two rooms over the July 4th weekend. We were in town to attend a family event so we checked in and immediately left the property. The young lady who assisted us was very nice, however she did not communicate to us that the king room we reserved was not available and instead we received a double room. That was not a big issue so we did not complain, as I understand that the king may not be available. Upon return to the property we discovered that the air conditioning in room 206 was not functioning and the toilet seat and bed in 208 were not properly assembled. We spoke with the young man working audit about the issues and he immediately went into action by checking the rooms. Upon his return he said that he would issue a refund for 206 and that unfortunately maintenance will not come until the morning to fix 208. We understood and told him we would move our things out of 206 and return the keys. He then showed us a king room on the main level next to the office which we refused to move into as it had not been cleaned properly. The trash had not been emptied and the toilet seat had not been cleaned. After moving all our things from 206 to our second room 208 we took the keys down to the auditor and asked for additional towels. We were given two hand towels, 2 bath mats and one body towel. I asked if we can give back those items and just receive two wash cloths and two body towels. The young man then told us that we cannot have additional towels because there are 4 of us in one room. That made absolutely no sense because we reserved 2 rooms which we did not receive through no fault of ours and the website does allow a double room to be reserved with 4 adults. After I explained that to the young man he then told us we had to leave the property because we can not have 4 people in the room. It was clear that his man did not know how to handle a guest complaint so I simply asked for the manager's business card and informed him that we would like to send an email. He told us that there are no business cards and he will write down the information. I explained that he could be giving me anyone's information and I needed a business card for any manager. He then gave me a business card and changed his tone by telling us we couldn't have anymore towels because other people might need them. The next morning I called the young woman at the front desk and explained the situation of the night prior. She informed me that she would look into the matter and decide if I will get a full or partial refund because we had a room change, which was not the case because we stayed in only 1 of the 2 rooms we reserved. I've stayed here several times within the past few years and have seen this hotel getting worse and worse. This time the alarm clock was broken and the front desk never answered the phone when I called from the room. I finally called the outside number and when I told the desk clerk she really didn't seem to care. No one replaced the clock either. The TV channels were not listed correctly or didn't exist as stated on the channel guide in the room. The towels were thin and rough as sandpaper. The washcloth actually shredded when I used it! The room I had (214) was shabby. And then there were the rude guests who sat outside laughing and talking until 2:30AM. They kept locking and unlocking their cars with their remotes so the horns kept beeping. They must have done this over 10 times. I did not call the desk as it was apparent no one cared. I will be looking for another place to stay. I had chosen this because it was pet friendly ($20 per pet fee). For what I paid for a terrible night's sleep, threadbare towels, no alarm clock. . , . And the spider in the tub as well. . .I won't be back. read more

ZERO STARS IF I COULD! As a woman travel along the interstate you want to have a nice, clean, SAFE space to lay your head especially driving long hours. I found the motel on Hotels Tonight app and excited I was getting such a great deal on such a charming place (from website photos). Check in was easy, kelly was very nice and accommodating but wasn't much help after another guest/stalker staying there started to call my in room phone and harass me. First time he called I thought kelly had a room downstairs for me to change but it was this guest and he asked, "Hi! I'm over here at room 222 (I was 221) and my cable doesn't work, can you come over and help me fix it?" I said, "This a front desk issue" he said, "Oh I thought this was the front desk, do you have the number?" I replied, "No!" Then hung up because I knew he was trying g to hit on me. He must have watched me go to my room (which was dingy, mold on ceilings and just plan disgusting) so he knew my room number. Immediately after my in room rang again, I didn't answer I. Fear it was him again and took the phone off the hook so he couldn't call. I immediately text me gf and she called me. After 10 mins I placed the phone back on its stand and hoped he got the hint. But then my phone rang a d rang and rang and rang for another 5 mins. So terrified at this point he might do something unspeakable I packed all my belongings and ran downstairs and told kelly snd demanded a refund. She apologized and said I had to contact hotels tonight to get my refund. I asked her if she knew who it was but she said the guy in room 222 is at work and the caller I was of Obviously a guest. I was so terrified and luckily I left when I did because what if I fell asleep, what risk would I have been in after reading the reviews of rooms not locking properly. This motel needs to take proper steps to assure the safety a d comfort of their guest and I left there fearful of my life, shaking and in tears. Most terrifying experience as a woman! read more

We were double charged. Woman kept us freezing outside while she took her time with paperwork. No personality. Room had a bed that sank incredibly deep in the middle. I was literally rolling toward my wife all night. "White stain" found on decorative bed covering upon waking in room. Sink didn't drain water and drain plug was missing/broken. I visited the baymont with my family and we were very unsatisfied. The rooms were dirty and unsanitary. There was blood stains on the bed, the rooms smelt like smoke and the floors were filthy. Substandard at best. We had to stay in this small town for 2 days. This chain hotel location was a poor excuse for customer service. Room telephone didn't work, no TV remote control, smoke detectors torn off the wall. Mentioned it to attendant right after checking in. We were promised a call from manager Mr. Mosley, to solve the issues which never came, Mr. Mosley was MIA the whole time. Hotel claims to be 100% smoke-free rooms but stink of cigarette smoke the minute you come in. Noticed maids and other staff smoking while coming in and out of rooms. Just plain and simple, NOBODY cared. Unfortunately, town doesn't offer many other options. Initially I wasn't a happy camper. The rep was very friendly when I called ahead; he was the same young man that checked me in; very nice and accommodating. The TV picture was snowy and not at all clear, but the room was very clean and nice. The relief clerk (not the first fellow) was unconcerned about our TV problem; he didn't offer to change our room, but would've, after I suggested it. We were just too tired. I got the BEST sleep that I've had in a YEAR. I woke refreshed; the shower was fabulous. The "snowy" TV didn't seem to matter anymore. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. The call center I was filtered through to make our booking at 12:30am as we were driving told us we were getting a "promotional discounted rate" of $115. We needed accommodations for 3 adults and triple confirmed with the attendant that the room could accommodate all 3. When we arrived at the front desk, Nate told us that he had never seen a room sell for this much (especially in the middle of the night). When I asked how much they go for, he said $85!!!! That is nearly a 30% markup. We also specifically requested to pay cash at the location, but of course gave our credit card number to hold the room. Nate told me that there is only one king size bed in the room. When I questioned where the third adult would stay, he looked at me puzzled and repeated "there's just a king size bed." Exhausted and annoyed, he said they only have two rooms left both with king size beds. I requested, since we had clearly been overcharged and needed a place to stay that he allow us to use both rooms for the over-price we were given. He said he could not do that. I requested our money back. He repeated he couldn't do that and then reassured me that my card had not been charged. Once I got back in the car, I checked my credit card transactions online and sure enough... I have a charge from Baymont Inn and suites for $131.40. I am mediately called the out-of-country call center back where I was placed on hold for a very long time. When I called back again, I asked for a manager and the manager allowed their phone to ring for five minutes. Once I finally got through, and spoke to a manager named "Raymond" who told me that there was no charge on there and for my credit card.promised to put a priority Report in motion where someone from their corporate office would call me back between 9 and 9:30 AM the very next day. It is now 4:02 PM and I have had no phone calls and the charge remains on my credit card. What an awful experience!!!! Cheap places like this are what makes a person want to slap the incompetence out of a business...!!! Luckily, just down I-95 a little bit further, we got a lovely room at Candlewood Inn and suites for a much lower rate. The staff was lovely and happy to accommodate. read more
