I had already filled out the forms online so that saved a lot of time. First, I had x-rays taken and cleaning done by Gina who was very friendly and competent. Then, Dr Espinoza who was also very polite and friendly did the check up and recommendations. The office is in a quieter area of Bayonne so there was no problem finding street parking being that I'm a resident. Make sure you have a resident pass. If you're visiting from another town I would suggest parking on Broadway (metered parking). I'll keep going to Bayonne Smiles for my regular check up and treatment and will update my review afterwards.

I have been a patient more than 10 years and love that he has the same staff he had when I started! Beverly is sweet and funny, and Maria treats you like family. Dr alter has Sunday hours in the early morning, and that's so convenient for kids who play sports. Dr alter is really gentle and caring and checks on your comfort throughout your procedure. I have had no issues with his work, which include 2 implants, bonding on my front teeth and 3 recent cavities. He also changed some old silver fillings to white at my request. My only negative is that sometimes street parking is tough, but there is a public lot behind the school about a block away.

Fast forward: This place is notorious for packed waiting rooms and long waits so I called before my appointment to see if they were running on schedule as at nine months pregnant I did not want to sit in the waiting room for over an hour. Luckily, I was able to have my doctor email them clearance on a cleaning. I get to my appointment on time and I am taken in where I wait for 15 minutes downstairs. The hygienist or Doctor (I'm not sure as these were not the same people I worked with at my last appointment) told me I needed x-rays. I was not comfortable with that as I am pregnant she stated I had clearance from my doctor and that she would give me time to think as it was already past my appointment time and I was wasting time. She was extremely rude and condescending as I was on time for my appointment and nine months pregnant and felt like I was not being heard and none of this was explained to me at last Appointment (nor when I was on the phone with receptionist and asked WHY I needed said form). They said it was policy that I needed x-rays every 6months but this was a lie as at my last appointment My x-rays were not taken. I ended up walking out as I was not going to be pressured into getting x-rays why I did not feel comfortable doing so. I will not go back to this place and I do not recommend it to anyone unless you want to be greeted with receptionist who don't know what they're doing and rude hygienists. Instead of helping relieve his pain or offer a reasonable solution, they told me we'd have to pay $450-$600 out of pocket, with no guarantee of reimbursement. They showed no real concern for the urgency of husbands situation or the pain he was in. If you're in severe pain and expecting actual emergency care--as advertised--be warned. They seem more focused on upfront payments than helping patients.

More specifically, I recently chipped my front tooth and was extremely nervous that repairing the damage would only make it worse. I decided to schedule an appointment with Dr. Cohn and he was great from the start! He was sympathetic to all of my worries and listened to the concerns I had over the necessary procedure. After discussing the process, I felt extremely comfortable and confident at this practice. Dr. Cohn did a fantastic job repairing the damage and I couldn't have chosen a better place.
