Well it wasn't bad, but all the pealing...not my thing, was worried about either breaking or staining my nails, of course nothing to do with the taste, but I suppose it was a lil letdown for me. I expected more flavor. But the crabs...omg, awesome. The corn was so good that I wanted more. As a gumbo lover, I pretty much test it every spot that sells it. Houma, Sweet Houma, I finally made it to the heart of coonass people, people who know how to cook, how to eat, and how to live. We stopped here near the beginning of our Old Spanish Trail scenic tour running from Houma to Breaux Bridge. Cajun is my favorite cuisine and this is the heart of Cajun country. I had their seafood gumbo, which was outstanding. It was loaded with seafood-the way I like it-and had a mild yet satisfying roux for its base. We split two pounds of some of the tastiest crawfish I've ever had. They could've used more spice, but they were good sized, tender and hot out of the boil. Deeeelicious! My wife had their fried catfish, which came in strips and liked it. The fish was cooked properly, wasn't greasy and had nice firm meat on the bone. The folks working there couldn't have been nicer and the prices were reasonable. Like the Terminator, Boudreaux, I'll be back. read more

It's a great "Hole in The Wall" business with taste over frills. The only thing was I was there for Crawdads (crawfish) but the didn't have some until near the end of the day. I've order something else, The Who Dat, but didn't realize it was double to triple what I've would have normally spend for lunch. Lol. The staff was just that staff nothing to review. Upon arrival we weren't sure if this was a place where you could dine in, or if you just had to order to go. Seems like most people order to go but there is a small area with about three tables you can sit at, and they'll bring your food to the table. We didn't have to wait very long once or order was placed. My friend ordered the boiled shrimp combo and a link of boudin. The combo came with an ear of corn, a few potatoes, a link of sausage, seafood dip and a pound of shrimp. The shrimp peeled easily and was seasoned very well. The boudin was pretty damn good too! I ambitiously ordered The Who Dat Special...I WAS NOT READY Y'ALL. SO MUCH FOOD. Two people could easily get full from this platter, I had to bring a doggy bag home. 1.5 Lbs snow crab legs, 2 blue crabs, 1/2 Lb boiled shrimp, 2 ears of corn, 1 Lb boiled potatoes, a sausage link, homemade dip and an option for drawn butter. Everything was perfect! Yes, they do put spice on top of the seafood once it's boiled but I like that. We also had crawfish boudin balls which my friend said tasted too fishy, but I thought they were ok. Meals tend to range from about $10 to around $40. Trust me, the $40 meal is plenty for two. Reverting back to the doggy bag- they brought me a styrofoam hinged lid container for my leftovers, as well as a brown bag inside of a plastic bag. Very nice touch. The car didn't smell of seafood and nothing leaked out. Next time I go I'll try the fried seafood, it looked delicious. I'm also plotting a return during crawfish season, I hope they have cold beer! read more

It's early for mudbugs, so had the shrimp special with a pound of shrimp plus potatoes, corn and sausage. I added boiled mushrooms. Absolutely perfect across the board! I had to work in the Houma area, and I was in the mood for some good food. I searched Cajun / Seafood, and I got several hits. I did not want a spot that looked like it was made for tourist. I came across Bayou Cane Seafood. It looked like my kind of place. I went in and everyone was very friendly. The menu was easy to understand and the cashier made it even easier. My food came out in about 8 minutes and it was exactly what I expected! No fancy plates, glasses, or in needed plate dressing. The food was very good. Seating is very limited, so if you want to take your crawfish on the road, be sure to call early before all the good stuff is gone! Although this establishment is small, they do keep it very clean. I've traveled far and wide, just to eat boiled seafood from here. I typically visit this location consecutive days in a row, when I visit Houma. If I lived here, I'd probably get a part time job, to save money on all of the crawfish devour from here. If you've never been to Houma, you should just come to this one location specifically, to understand what heaven on earth feels like. I'm not sure what sort of voodoo magic you put in the crawfish boil, but I'm pretty sure it's equivalent to crack, as I am completely addicted. Me thinks it's comprised of angel tears, unicorn sweat, and lucky leprechaun four leaf clovers, because it's simply magical. I'm usually in town to wrestle alligators, and get my crawfish fill, not in any particular order. After enjoying pounds upon pounds in my stretchy pants, I lay comatose on my father's couch for hours, and watch reality tv. Then my stepmother feeds me cookies. I should have ordered what I went there for, the boiled seafood. But instead I ordered the lunch special "shrimp etouffee". This was the most disgusting, stinkiest, non flavored shrimp etouffee I've ever tasted. I kept smelling something funny on my ride home with food. I get home and open the container, I couldn't deal with the smell and I threw the food out. It came with peas, roll and potato salad. I have no idea how those tasted. Stopped in for a quick lunch. I was dressed for a business meeting and had to pass on the messier items, so I had the softshell crab on a bun, and a crawfish boudin po' boy. The softshell was fried and I got it wish all the fixin's and mayo...bread was absolutely 100% fresh, and the crab was perfectly cooked. Exactly what you expect, and mouthwatering great flavors. The crawfish boudin has some great flavor, and was also on a fresh fresh fresh bun. Everything here down to the fries are seasoned and cooked to perfection. Seafood from a home town place. We both had the shrimp boil. It came with a pound of shrimp, potatoes, corn and sausage, along with a dip for the shrimp. This is by far the best shrimp I have ever had from a shrimp boil. Expertly seasoned with just the right amount of spice. They do mostly carryout business but have a few tables for dine in, which we had. Angie, the owner spoke with us and told us about different kinds of crab and how the crayfish are raised. She runs the business with her husband. We were they around 3:30, kind of an off time for lunch or dinner, but there was steady stream of customers picking up carryout specials the whole time we were there.
