Brought my car in as I needed new rear calipers, rotors and pads. Two weeks later my brakes failed on the highway with my entire family in the car. Turns out the mechanic (after having made me wait an hour so he could take his lunch break) installed the brake line incorrectly so that it rubbed against the tire and eventually wore away completely. When I called to inform them, they took zero responsibility, and informed me that "There's only one way to install a brake line". The mechanics I talked to in Virginia (where my brakes failed) both told me that the guy that worked on my car shouldn't be working an any cars, period. So if you value your life, or your family's life, I'd recommend going elsewhere. There are several other more professional, and more competent, places in the area. read more

Our daughter was leaving the OBX tonight and we had a front headlight out and needed to get it fixed asap for safety. My husband tried to change it but it was more complicated with this particular car. He tried 2 places who said they couldn't get it done before we got a recommendation from a friend for Bayside. They were FANTASTIC! Replaced the light bulb, explained a possible concern we had with the electrical system and were so lovely to work with both on the phone when we called and in person. Bayside did a awesome job on replacing my driver door and matching the paint. However the employees left the car filthy!!! There were food lion water bottles all over the car, dirt on the floor, residue on the seats, and much more. I called as soon as i noticed and said "there are water bottles on my seat, i know they aren't mine because i drink fiji and only a few brands of water. They replied with a snarky rude attitude saying "we clean the cars before they go, we dont have food lion waters here" I said again they weren't there a week and a half ago! WARNING: VERY SLOW SERVICE A job that should have took 3 days max took bayside 10 days to complete. (Simple change out door, paint, and replace) read more

Recently took my truck to this shop after having zero luck with our local chevy dealer. I have to admit I was beaten down from dealing with OBX chevy. Wow what a difference! Treated me like gold. They are friendly, polite, and efficient. I highly recommend this business. Their business title states body shop but they have a first class mechanical division as well. These guys butchered the whole interior of my car for a simple dent repair. They didnt clean after themselves leaving tools and other crap. Is it possible to give less than 1 star? I would if I could. With the exception of Brian, who was helpful, polite, and kind, my experience with this company has been subpar. The women working in the reception are rude and indifferent. I was treated as a burden, not a customer. My car was totaled on Croatan Highway, and then towed by Bayside Towing to this body shop. The communication between the insurance company and the body shop was very disorganized, and I was caught in between Nationwide and Bayside both pointing fingers at the other for not handling things by the typical protocol. Bayside told me one thing, while Nationwide told me the complete opposite. My Nationwide representative was hung up on by Bayside while trying to make contact for me. Because of this mess, it took 10 days for insurance to see my car. While waiting on the insurance adjuster to inspect my vehicle, my car was further damaged by one of the two vendors. I sent photos to both companies showing my car undented on the two truck, confident that one would do the ethical thing and take responsibility for the damage they caused. However, the response I received took me aback. The owner of Bayside Body Shop, David Holland, was patronizing, unprofessional, and accusatory, stating that he would not pay for damage that "you did not 'think' was there". I do not appreciate being spoken to with such disrespect, nor do I appreciate an accusation that I am being dishonest. I followed up with official police report photos that make it very clear the damage did not exist at the time of the accident, and I have yet to hear from either company. It is unacceptable to treat customers this way. It is unacceptable to speak to other people in general this way. read more

Great experience overall - from booking the appointment, repairs, price - through to picking up my truck. The staff do great to follow-up and remind about the appointment. On arrival I met with Robbie to explain the installation requirements that were specific to the heavy duty suspension parts I brought. Not only did he do a fantastic job (everything felt solid on my drive home), he took the time to explain that I may experience a difference in my drive and turn ratio and if anything seemed off to bring my truck back. He also found a leaking gear box - I went ahead and scheduled another appointment to get that replaced. One thing that goes a VERY long way is trust and communication and reasonable pricing - without those three I would never give anyone my business. I have had some very bad experiences with three mechanic shops on OBX. Robbie at Bayside has earned my trust and will be taking care of our three vehicles from now on. read more

Very good work. When my Ford Escape was finished it looked like I had just driven off the showroom floor. Great attention to detail and pride in their work. Very knowledgeable and good to deal with. Just one thing to keep in mind, they are VERY busy. Took two months from time of estimate before I could bring my vehicle in then it took two weeks to complete so plan accordingly. read more

I visited Bayside Body Shop to get an estimate to refasten the front bumper cover on my Subaru Outback. It was torn loose on one side when I backed out of a parking spot without realizing that I was hung up on a curb block. The Bayside guys took a look at and had it fixed in 10 minutes. They refused to charge me for the repair. When I do need body work or repair they will be the only place I'll go. read more

Told me I didn't need an appt. I showed up and he said i needed an appt. I drove an hour out of my way to meet someone who cared more about his lunch break than his job. I tried explaining what issue I'm having with my car and he disregarded every time, didn't seem to care what I had to say one bit. Thanks for wasting my time. Not just a body shop. My power steering hose broke on the drive down to OBX for vacation. They got us in first thing Monday morning had it fixed in an hour. Great price and excellent service! Very happy! read more
