He was by himself but the handled phone calls and an inebriated patron all with tact and diplomacy. This clerk was amazing. His calm and his people skills are second to none. BEYOND DISCOURTEOUS AND DISTASTEFUL…read more The "customer service" was HORRID and FAR BELOW STANDARD. They would NOT accept a MasterCard or a Visa CREDIT card, though they assured us over the phone that it was fine to use a Visa debit card payment. We even moved the reservation to another day(the following day), using our Visa DEBIT card, and the Copper River Inn staff member who spoke with us over the phone confirmed the reservation AND the authorization of the Visa DEBIT card. However, when we actually arrived at the Inn, we were denied our reservation and ANY accommodations. The front desk employee was completely condescending and unwilling to accommodate. She claimed that they only accept credit cards, but weirdly enough they didn't accept Visa or MasterCard credit cards? On their website booking, it says nothing of only authorizing credit cards, and actually approves both MasterCard and Visa! The manager and the front desk clerk claimed the opposite. We even offered to pay cash and tried each credit and debit card we possessed. Once we requested to speak with the manager who, upon arrival attempted to strike a LOW blow by opting to criminalize my father who is FIRST NATIONS, by accusing him of swearing at her when no such thing happened. It was when the rest of my family--my grandmother, mother, and sister-- left with our luggage, that the manager built up enough "courage" to try and make this false accusation. The manager, who worked the night shift on Friday, Nov. 11th, 2022, also refused to give out her full name and demanded to know my father's name which he gave out immediately. He then requested her information, as well as that of the front desk clerk. Both vehemently refused, although the manager gave out her first name after some time of going back and forth. Truly unbecoming.

We stayed here for three nights while visiting Voyageurs National Park…read more I definitely wouldn't recommend doing it this way. Crossing the border every day is a pain and the US charges a $7 toll to cross the bridge back into Canada. The hotel itself wasn't great. The lobby and hallways were dirty and in need of remodeling. They're adding a new wing and doing construction which meant parking was a pain and you couldn't go in the front door. The room was a little better, but the AC was broken in our first room. The sink wouldn't drain in our second room. Our keys stopped working multiple times. The beds weren't comfortable. The sheets were itchy. It's a budget hotel, so it's about what I expected, but the price doesn't reflect it. The DoubleTree we stayed at in Regina was nicer. I think it was the best option in Fort Frances, but it looked like there were better options across the border in International Falls. I'd stay over there next time.

When we arrived we were given a room on the top floor at the end of the hall. Nice location for less noise but unfortunately when we got in the room I try connecting to the Internet and was unable to get on and the TV was not working. We went down to alert them of the problem and were simply moved to a new room. As it turns out this room is just fine as well. The rooms are nice and clean and the maid service does well each day. We called down last night to see what we are being charged, it seems since we are here for less than happy events we were given a discount. Very nice of them and not expected. So if you ever find yourself in Fort Frances Ont. Canada, you will do well to stay here.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!! Booked on VRBO in December for a July vacation. Pictures looked nice, cozy…read moreand simple, no problem. When we pulled up we noticed it looked like a run-down motel. Oh well, we just need a place to stay. My wife and I had just spent 4 days on Isle Royale National Park and couldn't wait for a nice shower and peaceful night. The pictures ARE NOT from this property, totally FALSE ADVERTISING!!! We will be letting VRBO know too. When we went to enter the door code we noticed the door was open, not latched shut. It was a pain to try and lock when leaving. Went to take a shower, NO TOWELS...there was 1 wash cloth, 1 hand towel and 1 floor towel, no body towels. There was also no bar soap, no body wash...just some shampoo attached to the shower wall, no conditioner. We ended up going to Dollar General down the street to grab towels, soap, matching shampoo and conditioner. Room was small, no big deal. One nightstand had a Keurig Coffee station that took up all the space, no 2nd lamp like in the pictures (see above about pictures). Okay, no big deal...make do, right? We showered and settled in for the night. Turned on the TV to a pink screen...did some troubleshooting and unplugged it to reset the TV and get it to work...so we thought. Every channel said, "Channel not available, call for information". We looked up the booking to see if there was a trick to getting it to work, the booking said to call the cable company, we did. Cable Company said they had been disconnected since June 24th, 2026...3 weeks before we checked in. WTF??? No email stating there was no cable any longer no discount, nothing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! We ended up grabbing a room for the 2 nights at another hotel and will be asking for a refund from the host. If they won't, we will pursue through VRBO.

Check-in was easy and the gentleman who checked us in was very friendly. He informed the pool was open the hot tub was not working properly but he was going to fix that. Room was a standard room, we were told the TV was a smart TV and we could sign into our streaming service, we never did figure that out and we also tried to cast off our devices but they were not set up for that either. We stayed 3 nights, after the first night we came back from seeing family in the area and the room was not clean. We may have missed this but when we called about the room we were told rooms were cleaned every other day unless we asked. After day two returning to the room no room cleaned again and on day 3 we checked out early by 2 days from our planned visit. Breakfast we missed first morning, 2nd morning we made it and found we could make waffles and they had bacon, they had other areas for what appeared to be more food choices but they were empty. They did have pastries and some hard boiled eggs available in the fridge. Breakfast day 3 was eggs, sausage and option to make waffles along with boiled eggs and pastries. Starbucks coffee bar beside the lobby which is a nice feature but of the 4 times I got coffee on my 3 night stay I had to ask 3 out of 4 to have coffee made. Overall I felt the staff is still learning, the rooms not being cleaned daily is not my thing, especially for the rate paid. It was a holiday weekend, rate was $188 a night, which is fine when all goes well. I will say it is nice that I Falls is getting some new properties, and hopefully over time this place will run smoother.
