My mother-in-law (91) whom we checked in to the emergency room for blood tests (Wednesday July the 20th, 2016) was checked out the next morning because of extremely poor almost negligent care.
With her we kind of checked in too. Because her excellency the night 'NURSE' on duty would not even help her to the bathroom. She said she had to call 'personnel' to help her. Eventually a middle age man came and took her to the bathroom. Later someone took her blood pressure and left the cuff there. My mother-in-law who was confused got angry and ripped it off. A female patient who was screaming of pain was chastised for crying. At least three patients (besides me) had family members assisting them for their needs.. Their policy is not to intervene... Whenever someone came to do something their attitude was very rude and unrespectful. Every time my patient cried or complained they called me (in the lounge because there are no chairs in the emergency room) from my cell phone to assist her. As though I was part of the staff.
Talking about the staff, at any given moment at least half of them including junior doctors were smoking outside the emergency room entrance.
A pitiful medical facility in the center of a capitol city.
What a pity... read more
