This is based off a pickup order. I placed an order online for 8 boneless spicy wings and cheesling fries. I wish the cheesling fries had a description. I was going off the picture. With that being said these ended up being straight cut fries with a sauce drizzle and lots of powdery cheese. Super tasty. $8.95 seemed appropriate for the portion although I work a few blocks away and wouldn't get them again unless I was splitting them with someone. I'm usually a bone-in wing person vs boneless but since it was a work lunch I didn't want to deal with using my hands. The boneless Nuggets were very crispy. The spicy sauce was good but I wanted a tiny bit more. I might try the Mala ones next time. Also it was disappointing that the picture online showed the boneless wings completely coated with sauce but when I got them the sauce was just drizzled on. I would have appreciated more sauce. A big wishlist though was a smaller portion. The smallest amount you can get it 8 pc which I think is $14. I'd love an option of wings and fries - maybe 4 PC with fries for $12ish? As someone who loves Korean fried chicken and have lived in large US cities with larger Korean populations, this isn't it. Been wanting to try this new fried chicken place downtown Cincinnati on 4th street and it did not disappoint. Came in on a Friday for lunch and the space was clean and staff were so friendly and patient. Ordered the half original crispy and half and spicy original wings with a side of fries. Love the crunchiness of the wings. I prefer the spicy wings because it has just the right amount of heat. The staff were amazing - though obviously busy with delivery and takeout orders, they were attentive and accommodating. Denise and Markeith both helped me last night and were incredibly energetic, informative, and proactive. I loooved the honey garlic wings. They were absolutely delicious! I am a garlic fanatic, and appreciated the authentic garlic flavor. They came out hot, crispy, and juicy - everything I crave of korean style fried chicken. I also enjoyed the cheesling fries. The flavor of the cheese dusting is subtly sweet, and nicely compliments the secret sauce. I picked up on a hint of cinnamon that nicely plays well with the cheese dusting. It's good alone, but I recommend it with ranch. Lastly, the rose ddeok-bokki. I ordered it after seeing another customer having some when I came in. It looked so good that I asked her what it was, and she raved about it. For me, it was a bit spicy. It's described as a fish and rice cake, but seemed more like a dense noodle in texture. It has a rebound to it that makes it chewier. It's for sure worth trying, especially if wanting something new or authentic. Pro Tip: bb.q is a no brainer for a weekend dinner run, especially for large parties. I was surprised to see such a cool spot in OTR with availability. Our experience at bb.q Chicken Cincinnati was lackluster to say the least. We were the only people sitting down to eat in the restaurant and we should've taken that as a sign. Although we were the only ones there, it still took 20 minutes for us to get our food. Once we received our food, the boneless wings were rock hard pieces of fried breading with sauce and the bone-in wings were room temperature like they had been sitting in the kitchen ready for the entire 20 minutes. The waiter took our order but stated that several items on the menu were either discontinued or would be unavailable. We put in our order and waited. We watched as other tables filled while the lone front-of-house worker attempted to be maître d', waiter, cashier, busboy, and bartender. The man failed at every single job. Meanwhile, a line of cups with ice and tickets covered the bar as he struggled to even fill them with water. From 10' away, the soda gun looked like a man at a urinal with performance anxiety as it dribbled out the beverages with almost no pressure. Meanwhile, the window to the kitchen offered a glimpse of a man's hands. The "expeditor" (in what might be the most generous use of the term) seemed to study the sheets of receipt tape as if they were the Dead Sea Scrolls themselves. Why did he seem so confused? What arcane iconography or mystic typography might have been employed that left him so confused? As the minutes ticked by and we watched the doomed waiter drown in a dry lake of unfilled tumblers, a sad realization set in. We and our food would reach our expirations before we'd ever meet. As I approached the waiter and stated my intent to leave, he seemed irritated. In a sudden lapse of my conviction to eat in a timely manner, I asked when we'd see our food. I was told we were (and I quote), "good." Good what? Good people? Good for stopping in? Good at waiting patiently only to be let down harder than the 2026 Men's Olympic hockey team after that phone call? Come on dude... He understood they were unable to serve guests and offered little more than hard chairs, sticky menus, and reruns of Bones on the TV. This is not a restaurant, this is a place to sit uncomfortably and be angry. Do yourself a favor and eat under cooked chicken at home. I'm giving this four stars and possibly being a bit generous because the food is outstanding. The wing sauces are unique and the chicken itself tastes good. The sides are solid as well. It's pricy (think $15+ per person for lunch), but I don't mind if the quality stays high. The big issue here is service and timing. While the servers are extremely friendly, there is no indication that table service is available, and the "to-go line" frequently takes several minutes per person to move through. We went around 11:30 on a Friday and waited probably 20 minutes in line and another 60-75 minutes for our food. They were out of several items on the menu, and the fountain for drinks doesn't work, so they only have cans. There also does not appear to be any way to order ahead via phone or online, as multiple phone calls went unanswered. I'm hoping most of the critiques here are kinks that can be worked out in the process, because the food is worth it. But I would probably give it some time. read more

New Korean BBQ spot in downtown Cincinnati. Their fried chicken is amazing. The crispiness and spice levels are near perfect. The menu has a lot of choices. First you choose your chicken, choices are whole or half chicken, boneless or traditional wings. Then comes the fun part choosing your sauces. They have over 13 sauces to choose from at differing heat levels and flavorings. Our chicken came out hot and tasty and there were certainly good portion sizes. Tips to make your visit a success: 1) It is busy. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy. The food is cooked fresh so it could take a while for your food and the table service isn't the best. When you come in you order automatically if you're doing takeout or sit and wait to be seated for table service. Perhaps takeout would be a quicker option when it's really busy. 2) More than just Chicken. Kimchi fried rice, fries, cheese sticks and much more excellent dishes. I don't normally review a lot of stuff on Yelp. I mostly use Yelp to find recommendations for places to eat when I'm not in my home city, but I felt it was necessary to let people know of my experience today. I and three other co-workers entered the restaurant around 11:30 a.m. We waited in line for about 5 minutes to get to the counter, where we were informed we had been waiting in line to place a to-go order, when we could have just sat down anywhere. There wasn't a person at the door to tell us that or anyone to inform us, so we didn't know - we've never been to this place before. It just opened. We sat down at a table with a booth seat, and waited almost 15 minutes for someone to come over and ask for our drink orders. We ordered four waters, then waited another couple of minutes for the waters to arrive. They were room temperature with a tiny amount of ice in them. The server then took our order: 8-piece boneless spicy galbi with fries; 8-piece boneless gangnam style with fries; 8-piece boneless hot mala with fries; 8-piece boneless honey garlic with rice. After 19 minutes, two baskets of chicken made their way to the table: 1 8-piece boneless soy garlic (We did not order this) and 1 8-piece boneless honey garlic. So after a total of nearly 35 minutes, one person received their food. This pace continued as we waited anywhere between 5-8 minutes for other folks to receive their food. The only person who's order was correct was my co-worker with the honey garlic boneless wings and rice. My order was hot mala, boneless with fries. The first time they came, they brought another honey garlic instead of this. The second time they came back, they gave me hot mala, but they were bone-in. The third time they came back with another honey garlic. At that point, I asked them to cancel my order as I wasn't interested in waiting any longer for food. After all of my co-workers had finished all of their chicken, they brought the fries, which were room temperature, soggy and unseasoned. The cups of ketchup they brought with the fries were also oddly only filled about 25 percent, which just seemed weird. When time came to pay the bill (We waited another 10-11 minutes for this, during which I had walked up the street to Saigon Subs and Rolls, ordered and received a banh mi), the server told us she would need to take one credit card at a time up to the terminal because their system doesn't allow them to split bills. We just decided to have one person pay and send that person money via Venmo. When the bill comes, the food I never received and asked to be cancelled was still on there. They tried to charge us for food we never received. All of my co-workers' chicken was overcooked, the fries were unacceptable, the pickled radish was excessively sweet and top to bottom, this was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. As we were getting ready to leave, I heard the woman at the to-go counter inform several folks looking to place orders that there was a 1-hour wait for food. The people who are going to visit this restaurant are generally folks who work downtown - they simply don't have the time to spend waiting this long for food that isn't even good. I can't stress enough - do not waste your time with this place. We have a local Korean-style fried chicken place called Decibel that is incredible and deserves more credit. read more
