Fun place and I liked that none of the animals were there because they just got caught (I.e. oops so sad for you). They legitimately can't be released into the wild so these are a bunch of disabled animals who are cared for so they can stay alive. Nice place to walk around. Just hated the compost toilets. Gross. If you're gonna make tiny buildings, might as well make proper bathrooms! Gift shop has a lovely selection. My kids cajoled me into buying two small crocheted bears that are apparently made by one of the employees. And if you buy $50 worth of merchandise you can get a tax receipt. Cheeseburgers at the Blue Heron restaurant were decent. read more

Lot of walking. Saw 2 grizzlies close up. Couldn't see the black bears or cougar. I think the admittance fee should be no more than $10.

Wonderful park lots of educational material and a really nice gift store. Two thumbs up.

What a great way to spend Easter long weekend with the kids. Not only was their a Easter egg hunt. The kids got a chance to learn about the local Wild life in BC region. The Fawcett Family Wildlife Heath Centre provides rehabilitation to all mammals, birds of prey and reptiles that have been injured or orphaned in the region and releases back where they found them after rehabilitation. I am proud to say that I have never been to a Wild Life Park like this. read more

This place was a load of fun, even for adults. Show up early at 09:30 when it opens to increase your chances of seeing all the animals. It will be cooler outside and the animals will be feeding and not hiding from the afternoon heat. There's a train you can ride around the park for $1 per person. The grizzly feeding was my favourite part. The park ranger places food strategically around the enclosure (e.g. up in a tree, in a barrel, or inside some logs) so the grizzlies need to work for it. And it is also fun to watch them act resourcefully. The park staff hold scheduled educational sessions with the animals where you can ask questions. If I lived in Kamloops, I'd buy a yearly pass and come here every month. read more

I came to the British Columbia Wildlife Park for the annual Wildlights Festival during the Holiday season with my fiance and his parents. There was plenty of free parking available at the park. Admission to the festival was $11/adult, but we got a family discount so it cost us $40 instead of $44. The festival is really great, especially for kids. There is tons of light displays, including some interactive ones that are activated when you push a button. There are two laser shows, one at 6:30pm and one at 8:30pm. One thing I really liked about the festival is the Wildlife Express train. For $1/person, you go for a ~10 minute train ride around the park and see many of the light displays up close. I recommend sitting near the front since the motor can be noisy. For kids, there's a face painting area and a petting zoo (although only goats are there, so it's more of a goat zoo). There's also a clown that puts on a show throughout the evening, and a small holiday maze. Playground equipment is also scattered around the park. One thing I really liked is that the cost of food and drinks is very reasonable. Nothing costs more than $2.50, including hot chocolate, apple cider, popcorn, candy bags, and other goodies. Next to the refreshment booth is plenty of fires to sit around and warm up. Overall, for a fun place to take the family, I highly recommend going to the British Columbia Wildlife Park. read more

We brought about 25 kids here on a field trip, booking ahead to let them know. They were understaffed, badly. They had 1 lady running around giving info about animals.. And then running ahead to feed the animals. The animals are cute. They have bird shows at certain times of the day. They have a train, that takes you around 1 side of the zoo. read more

I've been coming here for as long as I can remember ! About time I did a great review on the place. Its a 20 min. drive from downtown, and there is lots of signage, and lots of free parking. The staff have always been friendly and the animals have always cooperated ! I have been to this park during the Christmas light up, in the fall, and also on the May Long Weekend. We had a large group, 5 adults, 3 kids, and I paid about $ 130. including taxes. We all enjoyed our time. It takes about 2-3 hours to go thru the park. We did the little train. So much fun, and only a $ 1. a head . Good money , well spent. ( all volunteers ) . I think this is a fantastic venue for visitors and locals. There is a little water park - which is great, because it gets really hot in Kamloops, so bring a bathing suit and towel . We also enjoyed a Hot Dog & drink special for $ 2.50 ( another nice little perk ) . The gift store seems nice, I did not take a really good look, but it had a bit of everything. Our in-law working and residing in the Uae came for a family visit in the summer of 2013 and we orchestrated a 4 day Okanagan trip to showcase some of our province's natural wonders and saw others as well during her 30 day visit. The family hit the Kamloops Wildlife Park and was thrilled at seeing the two resident Grizzly Bears playfully frolicking during their scheduled daily feeding time and eyes gazed upon other wildlife species indigenous to Canada including the wolf, cougar and majestic eagles. Despite it having a pricey admission fee, the tourist attraction stop is well worth it. Check out British Columbia's many natural wonders in all seasons to enjoy mother nature's best on the Westcoast of Canada whether you are a resident or a visitor. Lets do our best to preserve our resources and wildlife for generations to come and leave a legacy so others can appreciate the great outdoors, happy trails.
