Brent met with us at the venue a couple weeks before & was genuinely concerned about meeting all our needs and executing our vision. Brent worked well with our event planner getting everything organized. Brent ensured his staff knew what was coming from the food, beverage, & desserts vendors so that they could properly prepare. The day off, Conn's staff was awesome! They were extremely professional and polite. As soon as the ceremony was over, and the two of us were taking pictures outside by ourselves, one of the staff came over and made sure to get us a beverage and food brought out to us. That was such a small thing, but went a long way for us...we were starving and thirsty. Throughout the night, the bartender new exactly how we wanted our beers & made sure to serve them up just right. The staff did a great job clearing tables as needed, filling glasses, & keeping the desserts stocked! Overall, we were very pleased with Conn's & would use them again in the future. From the moment we walked into their shop we were welcomed by Geri, who is probably one of the most caring and detail oriented persons, I have ever met. Geri helped us to custom design every aspect of our wedding and even went out to the event site to get a feel for it and made sure everything was set up perfect (and it was). Conn's is a one stop shop for amazing food, party rentals (tables chairs---way better chairs than any other Chicago rental company, linens) staff, bar etc...... The food was top notch and people are still raving about the open bar days after the fact (seriously their bartender can make a mean drink!). Conn's pricing was so competitive they were in a league of their own from the first step. They even refunded moneis when we had a few guests cancel (now that's honesty). The event staff the day of was as clean cut and professional as you could imagine and they took care of the cleanup flawlessly. From the beginning I knew I had made a great choice to have help with my big day.  I had a florist cancel on me three months before my wedding, I panicked but Krysti and Nicole jumped into action.  The same day that I informed them of the cancellation, they had a list of florists picked out for me to talk with and had already called with inquiry's to advise me who would best jive with my particular sense of style. It was wonderful! I had no idea how much planning goes into family photos, but they made sure to help me map out eveything before hand so eveything ran smoothly from our first look to the many family photos.   They were there the day of and I began to call them my wedding fairy godmothers.  They handled everything I needed, even the little details I forgot.  I needed baby's breath, and they ran out to get it.  They even helped figure out where to do our first photo op (and there were so many at my outdoor venue Starved Rock) which is now one of my favorite pictures! Although our first meeting and tasting went well and they were open to helping create a menu that represented the Tuscan theme we were going for the catering manager seemed like this was her first event. The tables she ordered for the venue did not fit and she did not find out until 1 week before the wedding. The top tier of my cake was thrown away, even though specific instructions were provided. The service at the actual wedding was good and like other poster I did have someone dedicated to me to bring food and drinks which was very nice. However, when you spend over $10,000 to feed 80 people that seems like the least they could do. After filling out the survey with Wolfgang they did send me a $100 gift certificate for the restaurant but that hardly covers the top tier of my cake that I will never get back. In addition, they sent me another email recently because I had not used my certificate to see if they could deliver some food instead and when I asked for a similar Tuscan menu for a New Years Eve dinner I was told they would get back to me with a menu on 12/21 and then I never heard anything back. Bottom line - the food was really amazing and people still talk to me about it. The entire process left a lot to be desired.

While I am still disappointed at the multiple contacts during the process, the execution the day of the event was top notch. Several people have emailed us since the wedding saying that it was the best food that they've ever had at a wedding. The service was also very professional - competent staff, prompt service, and considerate while speeches were made. I particularly liked that they arranged to have one person dedicated to me (the bride) during the evening to bring appetizers and beverages so that I didn't have to worry about finding the bar and could chat with guests. They were flexible to incorporate some personalized aspects into the catering such as New Zealand wines since my husband is from there and a signature cocktail (Strawberry Basil mojito) which was absolutely fantastic. I would use them again, however I do wish that there was more guidance through the process in terms of a timeline or list of activities that we needed to accomplish in order to pull off the event. There were sometimes surprises in terms of payments suddenly being due in two days (while in the original contract, it was not top of mind and an earlier reminder would have been helpful).

When my husband and I deiced to do a destination wedding in Montreal Canada, the thing we were most…read morenervous about logistically was who was going to be our photographer. I know some people worry most about the food or the flowers but for us photo was Queen. My husband is a cinematographer, and I'm a makeup artist who works in print and video industry. So as you might imagine we are a little picky about images. Right away we knew what we did and didn't want. We also realized it was going to be hard to find someone who could shoot our wedding the way we envisioned. The two styles of wedding photography we kept running into was photojournalist style and cheesy contrived poses. Besides hating both styles it didn't really go with the look of our wedding, 1940's film noir. We wanted glamour, sophistication and a little bit of camp. We needed someone who actually knew who to take photos. Luckily I had worked with Kristyna Archer a number of times on photo shoots. I knew how amazingly talented a photographer she was and she was easy going and fun to work with. We were thrilled when we found out besides shooting for magazines she also shoot weddings. She understood what we were after and didn't try and talk us into doing some check list of cookie-cutter-photos. It was so important to us to have Kristyna shoot our wedding that we brought her all the way to Montreal with us. She was the hardest working person the day of our wedding. Running around making sure we got all our crazy photos. Our wedding photos are beautiful and look more like something you would find in a magazine then an average wedding. If you want photos that are as unique as you, then you need to hire Kristyna. Because of her background in fashion and adverting photography you can rest assured she knows how to compose and light. She's not a hobbyists playing at photography. She is a talented passionate professional who will give you the best damn wedding photos ever!

Brianne and her team handled the entire day with grace and efficiency. Brianne truly went above and beyond and I'll give you a few examples: - the Mother/MIL zoom conference two weeks before the wedding. I did not think we needed this, but Brianne insisted and we definitely needed it. She sat down with my mom and MIL for over an hour, answered every question, made them feel great about the day, went through the entire minute by minute schedule that she created until both my MIL/Mom were satisfied. You know who didn't have to answer random questions from her family the whole two weeks leading up to her wedding? Me, the bride. The moms, armed with the info they needed handled everything. It was amazing. - The aforementioned minute-by-minute schedule. Brianne and her team work with you very closely to plan your whole day down to the minute. They worked with our vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page, and they baked in special time and moments for just me and my husband to spend together away from all the people to take it all in together. It seems unnecessary when you are in the midst of planning it, but it is both necessary and wonderful. -Brianne even asked us what songs we didn't want to miss the band play and made sure we were in the room and dancing for all of our favorites. It's the small things that she definitely wasn't required to care about but because she did care about made our wedding all the more special. I think the best part about hiring Brianne was that I never for a second worried or even thought about the operations or logistics of our wedding and neither did our immediate families. We all got to attend/experience it pretty much how our guests did- and that is a pretty magical gift to give a person. I really could go on and on but the point is, Brianne is a superwoman and if you are concerned (like I was) about the prospect of planning a 260 person wedding (but really any size) in downtown Chicago, hire this gem of a human.
