I have a complex chronic medical history, and after explaining everything out, I was LAUGHED AT when I inquired about an MRI. The nurse said with a condescending tone, "Honey, even people who actually NEED an MRI can't get one. That's not going to happen." I will never forget that. I have been in pain for years. I left that appointment in tears. Just wanted to say that since then, I found a genuine, compassionate, competant doctor elsewhere (Mercy), who listens to her patients and sees the big picture, to very willingly order an MRI for me which they did the extra work to make sure it was approved by my insurance. The MRI showed findings that indicate I have a chronic inflammatory disease and need surgery. Thanks to the team at Southwest Women's for completely dismissing my experience I lived in pain EVERY DAY for 2.5 extra years before getting an answer and a path forward. Women deserve better.
