I experienced whiplash in my neck and have been using painkillers ever since. This was a real downer on my holiday. To make matters worse, when I spoke to the staff the following day (I wanted to give them a chance to respond before sharing anything online) they shrugged their shoulders and got defensive and laid the blame for my injury on me... For background, on this tour there was barely any information on what the tour entailed nor safety procedures. The spinning around and going fast and getting splashed with water was all par for the course however the crew do these 'nose dives' where the boat stops abruptly and a huge wave of water engulfs the boat at high speed. When I say huge I really mean it, the wave goes well over one's head. That volume of water travelling at that speed is genuinely like getting hit by a car (a cubic meter of water is literally a tonne). At no stage did the crew check that the clients were comfortable nor did they say that if we were uncomfortable that we should put one's head down or other mitigating measure to reduce the immense force. Some seats on the boat were more vulnerable to the force, notably the back of the boat, and the driver could have informed us of that before we got on the water. The driver and his assistant don't even have a view of the passengers as the passengers all sit to the rear. I'd highly recommend steering clear of this tour and company.

At 9am, we met Mika at Dona Ana Beach, where we would be SUPing along the incredible golden cliffs and little dotted islands, weaving in and out of magical caves for 3 hours. The boards were great quality + they provided wet suits + Mika helped give us a debriefing on SUP skills - I finally felt like I knew what I was doing this time! He also used his waterproof camera to take photos of us, allowing us to be fully immersed in the experience. After we made it back to shore, we took a break, allowing Mika to take the other SUPers back to their hotel, and allowing us to enjoy our picnic lunch on the seriously beautiful Dona Ana Beach. At 3pm, we met Mika at the next location where we would be Coasteering..!! My husband was way excited, while I was pretty much way nervous, but Mika really did a wonderful job making sure I felt comfortable and supported the entire time. I can honestly say that I had absolute BLAST and am so grateful to have experienced such a beautiful part of our world in this sort of an adventurously-intimate way. My husband did a few of the higher jumps towards the end, while I happily cheered him on. The highlight of the day was the mesmerizing GREEN CAVE! At the end of the day, because we were in our camper van, we loved the location he had taken us so much, that we actually ended up staying for 5 days! We would have never found this beautiful little cove without them. I literally forgot where I'm and why, it was just the sun, the ocean and our small group enjoying the tour. Nelson did a great job to prepare us for the SUP tour, he individually coached everybody how to cope with the sea conditions. We were smoothly introduced to new SUP techniques while slowly touring grottos where sun light is magically reflected in the transparent water. Besides the equipment the SUP school provides wetsuits, which was perfect considering the relatively cool water of the ocean. Amazing experience and thanks for the beers! We would definitely love to try the coasteering tour next time we are in Sagres.

We enjoyed a very fun an informative session of wine tasting, trivia, and education. Prior to the session the communication with the organizers and team was flawless. Everyone was very accommodating given our tight schedule and our tastes and preferences were addressed. When we arrived we set foot in a magically aesthetic kitchen and shop. The set up itself for the course was divine. It was a true 1:1 experience that felt intimate and exclusive. Gilliam, the Sommelier was charismatic, well spoken, and extremely passionate about wine. He answered all of questions and allowed us to experience the wines fresh out of the bottle and again after they breathed. I truly am grateful for the experience as not only do I know more about wine but also my personal preferences. We each left with 3 bottles to bring home to the states. We also shopped their other good leaving with Truffle Chips, Soap, Frangrances and upon special request, Pasteis De Nata. So much elegance and rich culture in this one beautiful place. GREAT OUTFIT TO GO ON A KAYAK TRIP TO THE PONTA DA PIEDADE CAVES…read more============================================================= Weeks before my family's trip to Lagos, Portugal I did a lot of research on things to do. One of the things I really wanted to do was to go on one of the boats that would take us kayaking to some of the caves and grottos nearby. We ended up just booking the day before when we arrived in Lagos. It was so easy. There was a kiosk for Days of Adventure just west of our hotel on Avenida Dos Descobrimentos. You can also cross the footbridge to the marina and they have a desk and covered patio area on the southwest side of the marina. It was so easy. They also sell clear covers for your phone which I recommend so your phone doesn't get wet. We walked over the footbridge to the meeting point on Saturday, July 6, 2024 for our 11:00 a.m. check-in. The crew members took us to the boat and we were on our way. Definitely wear swimwear because you will get wet in the kayaks. The main reason is a lot of little boats will go zipping by causing waves. The boat ride was really short at about 15 minutes which was nice. I get seasick, so I took two Dramamine and I was just fine. Two people actually tipped over on the two person kayaks right after they launched it. We all had life vests and the crew was great. They helped the two guys get resituated on their kayak and we were on our way. We had so much fun kayaking around the grottos and caves at Ponte da Piedade. The only thing I didn't like were all the little boats zipping in and out of caves with no respect for getting too close to the kayaks. One guy in his little boat did that multiple times and it was really starting to piss me off, but I kept my mouth shut. I could just see the guy doing something more dangerous. I will send an e-mail to Days of Adventure to complain about that. I don't know if they can control other operators, but who knows.
