What a fab surprise! Walked into Beach King expecting just beach towels BUT found fun fashion and decor. Quality items. Highly recommend.

This store has so many t-shirts, sweatshirts and beach souvenir items, that you are meant to find something...regardless of what you are looking for. The selection of colors, shapes, fashion styles and prices is very good. They sell a lot of items from the "Life is Good" brand. Wow what an incredibly kind and helpful owner. My wife made fun of my initial swim suit purchase so I tasked myself with finding some that she wouldn't make fun of while on vacation. I ended up at Beach King after seeing such positive reviews and as soon as I came in, the owner showed me what they had and even broke out some stuff that they had just gotten shipped in but weren't on the shelf yet. This store is a TINY hole in the wall. Much of their products are the "life is good" brand. I was hoping to find sea shells, but they only had big and expensive ones inside a glass case. I suppose this would be a fun shop if you want "life is good" stuff. Not my jam. read more

It's just another one of those cheapo overly cluttered beach souvenir and novelty shops, but as far as places of that ilk may go, actually one of the better ones. If you wander throughout the overly packed narrow aisles searching the place out, you'll find that it has just about everything from jams, shells and trinkets down to what actually might be some fundamentally useful beachwear. Also, besides the standard, a complete collection of those novelty T's with printed slogans perfectly suited for those who would, even if thinking of wearing them sober, would have to be possessed of a latent desire to give the appearance of being little more than an offensive public or social ass. read more

Don't miss this gem, three blocks off the beach. Excellent selection of high-quality products, but more importantly, the owner is absolutely wonderful. Kind, thoughtful, very helpful. This place was absolutely horrible. We bought a bracelet for our daughter which broke within minutes of her putting it on when we got back to the hotel. The next day we were at the beach nearby again, so we went back to the shop to ask about an exchange, since the bracelet was obviously defective. The man behind the counter, who I assume was the owner, immediately gave my wife attitude, asking, "was it broken when you bought it?" When my wife replied that it hadn't looked broken, his reply was, "then how is it my problem?" He ultimately granted an exchange, but acted like he was doing a huge favor. He was extremely combative and rude. There are many other shops to visit in the area, and at all of those we experienced friendly service and better prices. Steer clear of this place; spend your money elsewhere. read more

The service was incredible. We got to speak with the owner and he was super kind, helping us find whatever we wanted and just chatting as well. However I'm writing this because I am a huge supporter of the company 4ocean. I already had 2 bracelets but I noticed that beach king wasn't up charging any of the bracelets. When I asked why that was the owner said to me, "why would we up charge a company that's making a difference In the world?" That made me immediately impressed with the professionalism of the store and made me want to support the business so I bought another bracelet. read more

This is a fun little shop with nice people. We went here to find a small gift for my MIL that was indicative of Ft. Lauderdale. They have a bit of everything from shot glasses to bikinis. There was a very nice collection of shells, kitchy beach souvenirs and clothing as well home decor. The prices are less than most places with the same things. Overall, it's just amusing to see how many varieties of beach stuff you can find in one place. read more

My daughters and I visited the store. The location does not give the name Beach Kings. The name on this location at the top of the address says Life is Good. So I had a difficult time finding this location online to review. At first when I walked in the shop was so nice and looked to be welcoming. The location is very beautiful they have a lot of great souvenirs with a lot of great prices. While I was looking at some merchandise to purchase and had already picked out a couple of outfits, my daughter came to me crying telling me that the lady at the front was watching and following her around in the store and when she was going to go try on an outfit the woman asked to look at her hands. My daughter had picked a magnet to purchase so she could take home to remember her trip. The woman instead yelled at her and told her, "Where is the magnet!" My daughter got scared told her that she had already given it to me because I was going to pay for it and the lady kept staring at her and from there on she just followed her everywhere she turned inside the store. The woman is an elderly woman with Indian ethnicity. When my daughter came to me to tell me what had happened, I was done shopping and was on my way to the cash register I asked my daughter if the woman at the cash register was the one who had made her cry. My daughter said yes, so I asked the lady what the concern was and why did she yell at my daughter and why did she ask for her to give her the magnet. The lady then responded rudely and loudly "your daughter didn't do anything all the kids always coming here and grab magnets and leave them everywhere around the store." I then told her my daughter was 13 years old and she wouldn't have grabbed it and put it in a different spot, she grabbed it because we were going to purchase it but she made her feel bad and made her feel like she was stealing it because after that she started following her around in the store. I told her my daughter was now crying. The woman then responded with a very rude tone voice, "you don't have to yell at me". I was not yelling at all, she was. I then told her my daughter is 13 years old she wouldn't have grabbed it and put it in a different spot she grabbed it because was going to make the purchase. She was just getting louder and louder. Although I had already swiped my debit card for all the items I would purchase, I was so embarrassed that I asked her to cancel my purchase and I quickly walked out. While I was walking out she was still making loud comments then she said out loud to the customers in the store while pointing at me, "That is a bad lady!" I was so embarrassed an just left. This brought tears to my eyes since she managed to embarrass me in front of my daughters when I was simply trying to make a purchase for family back home. I did have tears in my eyes when I walked out because my daughter was still crying. Never had an establishment made me feel this way. I hope she doesn't treat everyone this way. I left with such a bad memory of this day that had started out so great. I will never go there again when I visit, and I will make sure everyone I know hears of this bad experience, I don't want anyone to go through this. I didn't have the energy to explain to my daughters the woman's behavior. We were all so sadden by all this. I just wanted to forget it all. read more

We love this store and visit every time we're in town. Some brands are a bit pricey (i.e. Fresh Produce), but they are like that regardless where you purchase them. Other items are priced fairly and the quality is good. You don't get the tourist trap vibe here at all. We've purchased a lot of items for our home here. Great variety and unique items.
