I visited on a bike ride. Parking conveniently located for me to lock it up while I ordered. What I got: regular mavericks acai bowl The food was good. I enjoyed every bite, it stayed cold, and it tasted fresh. The cashier was friendly, and made sure to ask if the order was to go or for here. The portion is kind of small, if I was really hungry, this would not fill me up. I think I would get a large if I was famished. Anyways, pretty sweet spot, interesting furniture inside. Beach monkey is one of those hidden gems in Pacifica. Just few blocks from Safeway in Pacifica. One of the. Best açaí bowls on the coast. They make their granola from scratch, which is gluten-free. Great Quality, Quantity, and Variety! I'll certainly be coming back to try all the options. Its more expensive than a drink you'd get at Jamba Juice but also a richer portion. If you see the Acai Bowl I posted, it's about the same price as Vitality bowls with certainly a higher volume. The cozy beach town vibes are real! This place rules. My wife and I came on a warm Saturday for açaí bowls. We ordered the Beach Monkey and Pedro Point bowls - both delicious! Really fresh fruit, fantastic nutty granola, and great açaí base. The two ladies working that day were very warm and inviting and seemed to treat every order with care. The vibes were so good that a group of hikers straight up group-hugged in the parking lot out front. 10/10 read more

I stopped by around 2pm on a Wednesday with my cousin after our hike at Mori Point. We were both craving an açaí bowl and decided on getting a Large Ocean Beach ($16.99 before tax/tip). We opted to share the large because it was double the size of the standard which was already $12.99. The Ocean Beach was a mix of açaí with banana, strawberry, almond milk and peanut butter. Topped with some banana, honey almonds and granola. You can really taste the peanut butter in the mix although it was not visibly noticeable. The açaí was very smooth and wasn't too icy or watery. I do feel like the almond milk did overpower the flavors of the açaí, strawberry and banana but it was still good. Some suggestions I have would be to add some peanut butter drizzle on top for added flavor and to maybe have a layer of granola in the middle of the container. I felt like there was a lot of açaí but not much in terms of toppings. If there were toppings in the middle, the added crunch makes a difference. read more

Quaint cafe with a neighborhood feel. In addition to coffee, smoothies, and acai bowls, they also have small, pre-packaged containers of mediterranean food if you want to grab some of that. We came after a hike nearby and ordered two regular-sized acai bowls, both of which were good and satisfied our craving to devour something light. Service is friendly and the bowls were ready in about 10 minutes. Visited here for my first time for an açaí bowl, a breakfast bagel, and tabouli. First off, I love that it's a family run, middle eastern family business. The food was delicious! The açaí was incredible. They blend their açaí from scratch instead of pre-made mixes. The sandwich was tasty, and it was the best tabouli I've ever had! They have a wide selection of homemade middle eastern dishes in addition to breakfast food. I will definitely be coming back! A staple in Pacifica! read more

Came in for a meal after my work shift and this place did not disappoint. A hole in the wall gem in Pacifica with an amazing staff that made us feel welcomed and important. We got breakfast sandwiches, mine was on ciabatta and my friends was on croissant. The croissant got nice and crispy and my ciabatta was a perfect sandwich. The decor gives the cafe a calm and homey kind of feel. Definitely enjoyed having my quality time and conversation here today! read more

Beach Monkey Organic Cafe in Pacifica is a small little cafe that has yummy acai bowls and coffee! WAIT TIME : In my experience this place takes a long time. Seems understaffed but they do continuously apologize for the wait. They take their time with their food which makes it worth it. SERVICE, CLEANLINESS: Sometimes there are dirty dishes left on tables. Customers usually put away their own dishes in a little dirty dish bucket they have. FOOD : I have tried the Beach Monkey Bowl and the Breakfast Sandwich with Duroc Ham on a Regular Ciabatta Roll. The acai bowls are one of the best bowls I have had. They put granola on the top and on the bottom! They put a bit of honey which I find super delicious! The Breakfast Sandwich is unique! The egg is spongy and pairs great with the warm cheese! Would highly recommend getting both! Very reasonable price. AMBIANCE, DECOR : Good place to come to study or work. Has small and big tables perfect for single studying or group study. Cafe is a bit small so you might have to wait for a table. I give Beach Monkey Organic Cafe in Pacifica a 4 out of 5 stars. The acai bowls taste and look fresh. Met the new management yesterday and happy to hear this place is going to reopen come hopefully july. Really convenient to have a place that serves acai thats right next to the beach again. Hoping for things to stay the same. I recall it being homey and welcoming. Really a place i would swing by once a week and grab a quick bite. Loved the original acai menu. This was our go to spot for acai bowls as ingredients were fresh, service was good, and in general had good consistency every time we came. We stopped by recently and it's not the same quality as this place was a few years ago. It's a very different ambiance. Not the same hustle/bustle as we usually saw on weekends with people coming in and out with coffee and acai bowls. Come to find out this place closed and reopened a few years ago so this is likely what contributed to the change in quality. The granola in the acai bowl was not crunchy. It was mixed in with the acai and unpleasantly soggy. Fruits were not fresh. If you're looking for a fresh bowl, I wouldn't recommend this place. Unfortunately, this will be the last time we come here. read more

This place looks like it is under new ownership. Service was disorganized. But very friendly. The lunch menu on the wall is difficult to understand or read partially due to its location behind the order desk. I was the single customer for lunch. Other persons in the location appeared to be family members who were not ordering. It took over 20 minutes for my order to be completed. The food was marginal, and they actually served ice berg lettuce. I doubt the food is organic. read more

I looked on Yelp while in Pacifica and saw this Café. Specializing in açai bowls... I wanted to get a coffee. The guy at the counter was super sweet, and very very soft-spoken. I asked about coconut milk and yes they had it. The café was going to close in about 45 minutes so the selection of pastries or anything else was very limited. I was kind of looking for a pastry but it's OK, what kind barista recommended a bakery on my way out. This was really cute - I love love Bob Marley and when I went over to the Sugar/milk station, there was Bob playing on the speaker. We happened to be in Pacifica on a warm day walking around and started to crave an açaí bowl. Did some searching and just happened to come across this place so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the Mavericks Açaí bowl: Organic acai with bananas, strawberries, papaya, and organic apple juice or almond milk blended and topped with house-made gluten-free granola, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, bee pollen, coconut shreds, and honey. It was delicious! Everything was okay, service was a little spotty and that it did take a very long time for them to make the bowls and it wasn't even that busy. I mean no one likes to wait a long time, but it was worth the wait. I'll still come back just because I think the quality of ingredients is good. read more

Have been coming here intermittently since they first opened. Used to enjoy coming here after the beach. Came on a Friday afternoon just before closing for a coffee and acai bowl, and it seems like there was a change of ownership. IMHO, the place has become a confused cafe. The interior has changed set ups and decor so much (initially a beach/surf vibe) and it now looks like an eclectic mix of European grandma and conflicted coastal soccer mom. The coffee is carelessly made with who knows how old grinds, and the overall organization, cleanliness and visual appeal is a bit suspect. I know the pandemic was a tough time, and I appreciate small businesses hanging in there, but I feel they could do better. I hope they turn it around. read more

I asked our waitress if we could get additional menus for the rest of the table, and she explained they had run out and were waiting for other guests to finish with theirs. We ended up asking if there was a QR code version we could scan, and she brought one over. I was mostly confused why the QR code wasn't offered immediately, knowing half the table didn't have menus to begin with. It just made the start of the experience feel a little disorganized. That said, there were definitely some positives. The sparkling cider for Mother's Day brunch was a really nice touch, and the Shanghai lumpia was fantastic. I ordered the two-protein silog breakfast with eggs, and while the flavors were good, the single scoop of rice just didn't feel proportionate to the rest of the plate. Any Filipino knows you need a little more rice to balance everything out, so I ended up not finishing my meal because it felt off portion-wise. My son ordered the cheese omelet and said it wasn't his favorite, especially the potatoes. The ube waffles were really yummy though, and my husband enjoyed the sisig tater tots. Overall, I'm glad we finally got to try Hula Hoops after hearing so many good things, but unfortunately it didn't quite live up to the hype for us, and I don't think we'd return.

It seems like there's always at least one person in there reading the newspaper while sipping coffee, or working on their laptop with their headphones on. The baristas have always been friendly, especially Tyler! Such a cool dude w/ charming charismatic energy! I have completed two stamp cards in the past 2 years at this location and the one on the pier. I remember coming here in the storm one day, in 2015, when I was on my bike, locking my bike outside and having hot cocoa & a glass of water, with the wind & rain pounding against the glass. It was such a magical experience, that I decided this would be in my all-time top three cafes in Pacifica. Regardless, she is a long time employee and I'll cut her some slack. Most of the time, she knows what I will order before I say it. I didn't see her elementary school aged daughter hanging out tonight. Sometimes she will wait on tables for her mom, bringing water, extra napkins etc. That's so cute.

I've been coming herd since they first opened and lately things have just gone down hill. The food has always stayed the same but the service is not good at all. I always let the long wait time slide because the food was worth it, but everyone's time is valuable and they never got better with their wait times. I used to love their coffee but it's not as good as it was back when they first opened. What made me realize that I don't think I'll be back or not for a long time is an experience I had on the phone. I called sometime last week or so around 4:30 to order something to go. The second I said to go I got disconnected from the worker. I tried calling for the next 20 minutes & no one would pick up. I ended up having to get take out elsewhere. They never used to have bad customer service like this and they were always so much better on the phones. It makes sense that their service has changed because they have help wanted and they're looking for a new cafe manager so that probably explains it. But it's still no excuse for the way things have been lately. Don't think I'll be back for awhile or even if I'll ever return. read more

Their Acai bowls are the best I've ever had. The fruit is ALWAYS fresh. I have never had a bad piece of fruit. If you pay close attention to the men, everything they serve is fresh. If you feel like the line is too long or you are waiting for your food, that's a good sign. It has nothing to do with the employees being slow. It has everything to do with their delicious bowls. They have long lines because they have good products. The employees are working as fast as they can to meet the customer demands. Also, the Acai is delicious! I have had acai that is watery and barely has any flavor. Or it is slammed with sugar and topped with sugary fruit. The beach monkey bowl is great every time. The Acai is perfect! This place has changed so much. Been coming here since day one and sadly will not be back. I called an order in and got there to be told they didn't have what I ordered. How do you take an order and then tell someone after they get in their car that they don't have what they ordered, how can you be out of something just like that. The person on the phone should know what they're doing. The man working there was rude and unapologetic. Not sure if he's a new manager but I never saw him there. Foods gone down hill too. I've seen photos and I can attest that I've had pretty bad stuff too. From completely wrong stuff to the order being completely wrong. Beware of this place. The coffee is terrible too. Plenty of coffee places in Pacifica, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

The acai bowls are addictive, and I can't get enough of them. You'll basically find me here every weekend, and sometimes I'll grab a bowl on a weekday to bring to work in the city with me. I got accosted in the elevator the other day because my acai bowl looked so good that people demanded to know where I got it. This also is my go-to coffee place - give me a Loop D Loop and my day is made. It's gotten to the point where going on vacation is a problem because I can't get a good cup of coffee to start my day the way I can in Pacifica. read more

We found this place on Yelp and stopped in to try it. It's refreshing to find a sweet spot like this for organic food in Pacifica. It's obviously a family owned business because it's super clean, kind of homey, and there were all kinds of local-looking people hanging out, soaking up the free wi-fi. We had the chicken banh mi and the shelter cove tuna sandwich and got the kombuchas which were so good. The tuna is really really delicious too. We did wait for the sandwiches, but seeing the line to the door kind of explained why. read more
