You'd figure with all of the above going on that more people would know about this place, but I find myself constantly having to tell people about this place for tennis. But not only am I the first to review this center, I had to add this place to Yelp. Having lived on Sans Souci Blvd. for a number of years, I was fortunate enough to live next to, what I consider to be, the finest public tennis center this side of the Biscayne Bay. The courts are well-maintained, the prices are very reasonable ($4/person to rent a court and $2.50/person if you're a North Miami resident), and the center has a shop stocked with snacks and equipment. The best part is that I've never had to wait or had any difficulty getting a court whenever I've wanted (but you might find yourself waiting for the clay court). So, let's just keep this a secret between us. Okay?

They are excellently maintained and offer American Clay (Har-tru) and the "Red" Euro Clay variants. Even though the red clay is more like crimson and doesn't entirely play different to the American style. The courts are also extremely well leveled and balanced. The hard courts are just right in between fast and slow. BOTTOM LINE - The courts are rocking, prices are not too bad, and you can live out your dream of playing in Center Court here, just not during the Sony Open :)

They loan you a racquet for free if you are visiting from out of town. They have ball machine rental. There are photos of local people who got famous. Fred Solomon, Jennifer Capriati, Chris Evert, etc.. Plays like a hard court but the bounces are different when it hits the white lines. Gotta try clay at least once in your life. Not the orange clay like in the Paris/French open. Colored gray/green.
