if you look over my reviews you will find very few occasions where I visit the same place 2 nights in a row, high praise in my book. We ate dinner on Friday night and had to return on Saturday night with our cousin in tow. 5/5 Great - Hidden Gem, the wait time was half that of other places. Corn and Crab chowder was superb. Ahi Tuna appetizer and best of all was the shrimp appetizer with the herb and lemon butter seasoning, very unusual and just spectacular. Florida Orange IPA on tap was the best beer I had all week on vacation. Oh wait, the service and dealing with 2 small issues we had were immediately solved to our benefit. They are pros and want you to be happy. Wife had a salad and added shrimp on top, they gave her a mountain of shrimp! 4/5 Good - Location and outdoor air. The pricing is very reasonable, we could afford to go back and eat there again and glad we did. Wine was good as well. Key lime pie was very good, not my mother's key lime pie, but come on who can compare to that. The grouper tacos I had were very good 3/5 Ok - The bar is only beer and wine. We personally prefer this for 2 reasons, first it allows for speedier delivery, you don't have to wait for some custom creation that takes time. Second, we aren't big cocktail folks. Just thought you should know. 2/5 Meh - the bacon wrapped scallops in BBQ sauce were exactly as advertised and as a Northern boy, I did not like it. Maybe for Southern tastes only? Our waitress was very nice! The food, not so much. Peel n eat shrimp are not cleaned, so you get to either diy or eat the shrimp poop. We both ordered grilled scallops and they were not seasoned at all and were cooked to the point of being rubbery. I ordered a strawberry mojito and it's only flavor was extremely tart. There's no real ambiance in the dining section. This is a beach bar trying to be a restaurant. For all the seafood options in the area, this one can be skipped. read more

Came over to our favorite local restaurant for some lunch and took advantage of the Grouper Ruben sandwich on special that day. The portion size of the sandwich was generous and the flavor with the fish, dressing, and sauerkraut was delicious! One note of warning, you need several napkins, but it is worth it! One of my daughters also enjoyed the Grouper Ruben and the other had the Philly Steak sandwich. My mom went for the bacon wrapped shrimp and found it had a lot of flavor as well. Beach waves Grill was excellent. The food was great. I had the mahi tacos. Mahi was not dry. My husband had the grilled chicken dinner that was also not dry and the barbecue sauce was so good. This is a good local spot that is steps from the beach. Parking is tricky bc there are only a few spaces in front and on the side. The decor is trendy. There is no AC but windows and doors are open to allow a breeze. Our waitress Linda was awesome! We tried the fried grouper cheeks that were delicious. For our entree, we had grilled scallops, fries, Caesar salad and Mexican corn. The scallops were delicious with good seasoning. The fries were crispy. The Caesar salad was good. The Mexican street corn was just ok. It is basically can corn with a creamy sauce on top. Overall a good experience and super convenient if you are at the beach for the day. read more

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS PLACE! We went around 5 for an early dinner, it wasn't busy at all. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. They had good specials going on. We got the grouper Ruben, and fish tacos. The hushpuppies were great, they were sweet and savory. The food was a 10/10. They price point was a 10/10 even the drinks were priced great. Place is super cute and bathrooms were clean! The food- CHEF'S KISS ! Today they had a stone crab special for 23.99. I really make the best stone crabs and don't often have them out- but I have to say they were beautifully reheated and the mustard sauce is on point! I ate every bite and the portion was great! One of our favorite hidden nooks to hit when in or around Indian Rocks Beach. The service is always great, there are always excellent specials to be had...and you're literally steps away from the beach. This place has the true beach bar vibe, and the food is always tasty to boot. There is free parking around the building, but they are first come first served...and parking is always a bit challenging around the beach. This place is a def stop when you're around IRB! read more

So today was my first visit with my sister and all I can say is after hearing about it forever I'm glad I finally went and will definately be back. I went for the beach bash day and for as busy as they were everything was perfect. The bartenders were attentive and the food was delish. I had the wings and my sister had the stone crab claws. There are tons of bar and restaurant options on the beach. Beach Waves Grill is one of the better options if you're looking to dine somewhere in the area. Here's my take on the experience: Quality of food: Good. For food, we have tried the blackened grouper sandwich along with calamari. Both were really good and perfectly seasoned and not overcooked. Decor: okay. They have two dining areas...one outdoors looking at a boring parking lot and another one that's indoors. Not under their control but wish they had better views since they're just 20 steps away from the beach. Cleanliness: good. The servers were doing a good job keeping all the tables clean. Service: good. Our server was very nice and she answered all our questions on the menu and kept the water and drinks flowing. Price: expensive. Being that this is a beach bar, everyone seems to claim that they have the best grouper sandwich and hence charge more than expected. The sandwich is $16 and the entrée is $19. They have an all day beer special of a small half pint pour of landshark for $3. If you're in the mood of one of the better restaurant options on the beach then Beach Waves is a good pick. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to see this around the corner from Cafe de Paris. My husband and I sometimes have a breakfast croissant at Cafe De Paris before spending the morning on the beach. Well, today we went to the beach mid morning and found this cute new restaurant and noticed it had outdoor seating. After lunchtime hit, I called to place a pick up order from the beach and it was ready 15 minutes. The hubz picked up our order and he told me that the servers were wearing masks. However, the tables were not spaced 6' apart for social distancing and patrons were not wearing masks while seated indoors and outdoors. With that said, we ate on the beach. I had the Steak & Cheese Philly with Fries, while hubz had the Black Bean Burger with Fries. The bread used for my sandwich was so soft, slightly buttery, and delicious! It could have used more steak and cheese, but my husband seemed to think it was perfect as is. Their Black Bean Burger had really great flavor. Lastly fries were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Everything was packed well and still warm. I recommend ordering the food to go and enjoying them on the beach. I'm only giving 3 starts for now because I don't have an option to give 3.5 stars. I would have given 4 stars if my Philly Sub had more filling and if the indoor/outdoor tables were more spaced out for social distancing during the pandemic. We are planning on going back soon because the flavors and quality of the food were very good. Hopefully, when I return, the outdoor tables will be more spaced out for social distancing. Our friends ordered egg roll app, and we tried the hushpuppies with the spicy remoulade which were delicious. Saw there were three Thai dishes I guess in tribute to my beloved Thai Pan Alley (now gone). We sat at the open bar which had six seats. There were maybe 6-7 tables outsude also. The woman on the phone was gracious and kind, and our waitress was a breath of fresh air after coming from another restaurant. She radiated warmth and was super efficient in the ordering process. Our food was delicious and the bottled beer super cold and refreshing. We ordered a dozen oysters, the grilled grouper with coleslaw, rice and beans, a cheeseburger, crab cakes, and chicken tacos.
