I am a huge fan of especially the SILENT YOGA AND DISCO. First 30 minutes of easy and relaxing Yoga (instructions delivered via the headsets including really nice background music) then dancing on the beach like nobody is watching :) Probably the most fun and safest event even during covid. Highly recommend. You may even catch a beautiful sunset and see dolphins jump.

Have been wanting to do a beach yoga class for years now and I finally broke the seal this weekend. I initially went on Yelp and requested some additional info from a few different businesses. Vee from Beach Yoga SoCal responded right away and even provided me with a discount code when to use for signing up online (WEB10). The class itself was fun and just what I was looking for. Here are some highlights: Instructor: 5/5 Adrienne was our instructor for the day. She was intuitive, attentive, infused just enough education into the poses to keep you engaged, and had a great vibe. Proficiency Level: 5/5 I would say the class was more geared towards beginner-intermediate levels, though of course anyone who practices at a higher level could have easily adapted the practice to make it more consistent with their desired level. Equipment: N/A They don't supply any mats/towels or anything so you have to bring your own. Most people brought their yoga mats. I didn't want to bring mine because I didn't want it to get sandy so my friend and I just brought our towels, which worked just fine. You can bring props if you want though I personally didn't find them necessary. Accessibility: 5/5 The instructions provided in the confirmation email are very clear. You basically just drive west on Ocean Park Blvd. until you can't go any further, make a left and then the first right into the parking area and you're practically there. From the parking lot you see a small wooden walkway headed towards the beach into the sand. To the right you see lifeguard Tower 26. Head towards the pier and you'll see your instructor/class on your left closer to the water just past the tower. Can't miss it. NOTE: you do have to travel on the sand a short distance which is generally fine for most able-bodied folks but might be more challenging for those with physical limitations. Cost: 4/5 $25 for a 1-hour beach yoga session seems to be the going rate. Check out their website to see about package plans. Don't forget to use the WEB10 discount code on checkout. Parking: 3/5 If you plan on parking, you will either need to show up early to try to find a street parking, which is particularly limited on Sundays due to the farmers market. Alternatively, there is a public beach parking lot that costs $12 for the day. If you're only going for the one hour yoga class, the cost does add up and can feel a little burdensome for those on a budget. Customer Service: 5/5 I made an error when I booked the original class so I called the office and was greeted right away by an actual human. I don't recall his name but he was super friendly and was able to rebook me for the class I had originally intended to sign up for right away with absolutely no hassle. Left a great impression on me as a consumer. Overall, had a great experience and have already booked my next session! Hope to see you on the beach.

I love beach yoga! I've taken 3 classes all have been great but my favorite was yoga and sound bath with Vanessa and Walter! I really enjoyed the circle seating which made it easy to follow Vanessa's instructions. Both instructors exuded calm positive energy. At the end of the sound bath we had the opportunity to pick pick a tarot card and interpret the card however we saw fit. I will definitely be taking more classes in the near future. If you love the beach and yoga you have to try beach yoga socal!

A wonderful Sunset yoga session at the beach! Got this as a Mom's Day present. I loved the mix of a traditional flow & the playful poses, done right at the water line. Doing downward dog & tree pose in the sand felt great! I loved it so much, did the next morning 930 class. Please start a class in San Diego, mahalo

This is a must do in Santa Monica. This was my first time doing yoga and the instructors were very helpful and welcoming. I can't wait to take another class.

Beach yoga was a great way to tune out and tune in. I felt connected to the most powerful, element on the earth the sea, along with all the happy people at the beach. It was a beautiful hazy day, the flow of the wind and the sun gently peaking through the clouds gave a calm like no other. Our instructor was beautiful, welcoming and you could feel her love energy. It was a great workout, the soreness in my arms are proof. I can't wait to attend a Wednesday night sound bath, I'll definitely attend more classes with Beach Yoga So Cal.

I recently just started to join beach Yoga SoCal and I absolutely fell in love with this class and the instructor! Everyone is super friendly, lots of space, and the instructor is so sweet! she takes her time to see everyone and what level they're in. It's my favorite thing to do now and I just can't wait to be back! Thank you again!!

I can't stand packed yoga studios and in the past could only do beach yoga on vacation. Brad Keimach (a popular trainer from Exhale) offers Beach Yoga right at our door steps. It's one of LA's best kept secrets (but probably not for much longer). It doesn't get any better than this. WHEN: Every Saturday and Sunday, 10:30-12 WHERE: Santa Monica (borderline Venice). Walk up Marine Street (which becomes Barnard Way), all the way to the water's edge, by lifeguard station #29. COST: Donation. BRING: Large towel, or mat. Sunscreen! Your great spirit! A sense of adventure and beauty! PARKING: free street parking on Hampton, Second St., Third St. Allow a few minutes to circle.

The price is absurd. And the instructors I've tried are mid at best. Honestly, I just miss good ol' Brad (IYKYK).

But if you want a thoughtful,…read morebreath-centered practice that helps you slow down, feel your body, and cultivate steadiness, this class is your go-to. The Space: This studio is a second-floor loft with tall windows and skylights overhead, so natural light pours in. The room is spacious, uncluttered, and simply arranged, which amplifies the quiet, reflective tone of the class. The Class: We began with a collective Om and alternate-nostril breathing, then moved into a steady sequence of Sanskrit-cued postures rather than a flowing practice. (I did have to peek at others for a few poses!) Because there was no music, every breath, footstep, and verbal cue became part of the atmosphere. At first, I felt more self-aware, but that actually drew me deeper into my breath. I ended up finding it rather powerful and reflective. The Teacher: Jerome was warm and attentive, especially with first-timers. He introduced himself, encouraged me to place my mat wherever I felt comfortable, and offered hands-on adjustments that invited the body to relax deeper rather than push harder. Vibe: His use of Sanskrit cueing, paired with steady breathwork (beginning with a collective Om and alternate-nostril breathing), created a classical, contemplative tone. This was not a flow; it was a deliberate exploration of posture and breath. Community: The overall atmosphere felt community-oriented. People were chatting with one another as they gathered up their belongings after class, which made the space feel friendly and welcoming. Practical Notes: I also loved that this is a drop-in studio. There's no advance sign-up needed, just show up with your mat. Parking is free right outside. It's a DONATION-BASED class. Welcome to all! Quick Note: The class isn't heated, but with so much sunlight streaming in, a gentle natural warmth builds throughout the practice.

The Yoga Space: Minimalist, with warm wood tones, all sun-lit by a giant oval skylight overhead. The Class (Flow with Bailey Kai): This was a music-driven, cue-based flow that works for all levels. Bailey's teaching style is beginner-friendly for anyone who is looking to explore yoga in a beautiful setting with great music. She guides the movement first, then names the pose in English. It allows the body to learn easily, which is a great for new students. The class unfolded as one long, continuous flow that gradually built. Near the end, we were offered an optional peak pose of Birds of Paradise. As we down-regulated with grounded stretching, the playlist slipped into a moody, hypnotic feel of "Want It" by Mk.gee (gentle, inward, & beautifully timed: https://youtu.be/ZXVCmYWCOwI?si=U1tWC20pIELUMylK), followed by grounded stretching and savasana. I brought a friend (one of my favorite yoga teachers;-), and she appreciated some of Bailey's creative cueing. Always a good sign when a teacher enjoyed class. This Class Is Perfect For: - Beginners who want clear, movement-based guidance - Intermediate students who love a smooth, continuous flow that gradually builds, with add-ons and a peak pose - Anyone wanting music-driven movement without added heat in a beautiful space Final Take: OPEN with Bailey Kai delivers an accessible, long flow in a beautiful sun-lit space. Perfect when you want to generate your own heat and move in a steady, continuous rhythm. Practical Notes: Street parking nearby and a $5 lot across the street for OPEN clients.
