Located at the St Kilda Sea Baths, do not be fooled by the great location. This establishment should be avoided at all costs. Why you might ask? You would be better off emotionally and financially to head up to nearby Acland Street once your beach entourage in St Kilda is over. Forget about it and move on. The staff just aren't welcoming at all. They might be experienced hospitality professionals; it is too hard to tell; or they could be cheap labour; I honestly do not know. It is easy to get the vibe that your mere presence is an interruption and a disturbance in itself. The banana smoothie wasn't the best, and you end up waiting a heck of a long time for service. If you are in a hurry do not come to this establishment. In fact its beach come go, not beach come in. The waiters are depressed, they probably hate their jobs. Maybe, just maybe if the owner invested in some high class hospitality training for them that things might change for the better in tandem with a more care for the customer attitude. The view is a plus. Slow disgusting customer service and exorbitant prices = not impressed.

When I came here for brunch with my bookclub I wasn't aware that you were supposed to take photos of you food so that you could plaster it up on the internet, so unfortunately I don't have any photos of the meal that I had (not that I can actually remember what it was - it was something breakfasty). I'm not too keen on this place though because, well, there are much better places in St Kilda to have a meal, or even a quiet drink. However, it is quite large, though the last time I was here, which was on a summer afternoon, the outdoor areas were packed and the inside was empty. They also have an icecream parlour around the side, which is a little inconvenient because it is not exactly facing the beach. Also, they have waiter service here so there is no going up to the bar to order a beer.

Had the margarita for $22, would have been better to buy a $5 pizza from the coles and stick it in the oven. Pity the owners haven't taken onboard the years of customer feedback. Oh well, the view view is good.

Beachcomber has been my first choice for a variety of occasions, christmas dinner and drinks with the girls, lunch date with my man and even a new years eve destination for a huge group of friends and family one year. Beachcomber is one of those traditional beachside restaurants specialising in contemporary Australian cuisine and of course seafood! I would highly recommend their antipasto platter; a selection of grilled vegetables, cold meats, creamy cheeses, marinated olives and artichokes and grissini sticks, great for sharing. I also love the lamb salad and the fisherman's basket perfect for tucking into on a hot day on the beach in Summer. The staff at Beachcomber are great they will help you organise any sort of function or event, weather it be a casual dinner date or new year extravaganza. Really what better way to bring in the new year than a seat on the beach watching the fireworks enjoying some wine?

Great location in St Kilda, the view is beautiful and the food was good. Nothing exceptional but nice. We had the 30$ special for lunch : chili mussels, lemon pepper calamari and a glass of wine. I was definitely not fan of the chips.

I've been here a few times for a quick bite or a drink outside. It's a pretty solid 3 star place - great views onto the beach and ocean, decent seafood and the usual bar. It's just nothing exceptional - no wow factor in food or service. If your down this way and the other bars are packed, this one is usually a little quieter which is nice. You are also right near the car park which can be handy for keeping an eye on your car. If possible (and it's a nice day) sit outside on the ocean side. It's great people watching.

Situated on the Lower Esplanade is this beachside restaurant/bar/café. With inside and alfresco dining it is the hangout of choice for many people wanting to soak up the fun and atmosphere of St Kilda Beach. There's nothing I love better than to wile away the afternoon out on the undercover deck, getting happy from a few wines, being in a great place and in good company. It's a really chilled out atmosphere here, the wait staff are cool but really attentive without being annoying. The meals are really nice but expensive, however if you want to relax and dine by St Kilda Beach Beachcomber is the least expensive along Jacka Blvde. If you choose to eat I have to recommend the brushcetta duo and chilli mussels for a nibble or entrée. The seafood platter for two is just divine, fresh as it should being located on the beach and makes the perfect main. Great for parties, private functions and even weddings with some really good packages available. Check the Beachcomber website for details.

Big Brkfst with cappuccino and "synergie" fruit juice. Juice was OK, Cappuccino was simple. Sausage and hash brown weren't OK.

It worth it for the view. The big breakfast wasn't the best breakfast ever at all. The hash briwn and the sausage had not a good taste. The "synergie" fruit juice was the best part of the BF. Even the cappuccino hasn't nothing "special".

Went to Beachcomber for a quick stop off for a cocktail. We sat outside in the nice outdoor open area. Ordered a espresso martini & a pina colada. These were served in a reasonable time and the pina colada was served in a fresh coconut and was well presented, Espresso martini was also very nicely made. Food looked delicious so will be back again to order some of the menu.

Seafood frozen - what a shame! Desserts were burnt and unlike the other food which was average but edible... desserts were horrible. Was so excited walking up to the venue from the location and exterior looks amazing but it's so indecisive... the decor is so confusing and definitely a lot more money was spent on the cluttered junk inside rather than training the staff and quality of food. Decor was ocean side, ritzy, Japanese? French? Asian? European? What the heck? Such a waste of Moët bottles as well - cluttered on the tables... With the right changes what an amazing place this would be.. definitely fell short for us. Id return another time to see if the copious amounts of constructive feedback was taken on board but if same experience we won't be back a third time.

We paid a deposit of $3,500 to secure our booking. Due to unforeseen circumstances we unfortunately had to cancel our Wedding. Prior to needing to cancel the wedding we tried contacting Christelle for venue and set up information for styling on the day with many many failed attempts and ignored messages. We contacted Christelle in regards to cancelling the wedding with notice of over a year. She has been completely unprofessional and has made this situation so much more stressful than needed. We kindly asked for our deposit money back as we had given ample amount of notice, we were happy to pay the full deposit amount until the date of our wedding had been booked by somebody else and if the date had not been filled we were willing to have Waterfront on the pier retain our deposit. She has been nothing but rude and insensitive towards the situation and myself. Don't be fooled by her kind act when looking at booking the venue as once you have paid a deposit she becomes completely inattentive.

They also have XXL versions of the St Helen and premium ones (like a Miyami breed from Tasmania?) for a bit more. Long high tables right at the store to slurp them. Or bring them to the food court for sit down tables. They also have sea urchin sometimes; $14 for a whole sea urchin, already half shelled and prepared to eat ASAP. Why only 4 stars? They are so popular that their oyster prices IMO are too high. When you can get the same St Helens oysters in nice restaurants for $5 each, and they're charging $3...
