My husband and I decided to go here last night for dinner. We went often to the old Beacons, even had our rehearsal dinner there in 2005. Even after years of not being around, we were impressed once again. The food was amazing. Our server, Tim, was very conscientious and friendly. The owner (I believe) came over to ask how our dinner was and if we needed anything. The steaks were mouth watering. I've been to Beacon's a few times now and each time the food is meh at best......especially considering the prices. However, I have always received great service from the waitstaff. The last time I was there, though, I literally witnessed the manager yelling at a server. I was horrified at how he was speaking to her. As a result, I will not be going back. EVER. Welcomed addition (or welcome back addition) to the area. Love the "boards" concept. We tried the antipasto (with meats and cheese) and the bread board. Nice assortment of meat/cheese and sides. The bread on the bread board was not all that good, but the spreads that came with it were good - hopefully the bread will change? The siracha honey oven roasted wings were crispy, fall off the bone tender and delicious. Kids steak tips were cooked rare as ordered and devoured by our youngest kid. The bouillabaisse was fantastic - different with fingerling potatoes, but the seafood and broth were very tasty. The Tuna Poke bowl was small, mostly rice with not nearly enough tuna, which maybe was okay because the tuna that did appear wasn't very flavorful. Creme Brûlée made up for the poke and ended our meal nicely. We'll be back for sure. read more

I really enjoy Beacons. The bartender staff are sweethearts. I can't recall any one who wasn't pleasant there. The owners/managers are very visible and involved. The food is quite good. The patio space is very stylish. The indoor is nice too. My biggest complaint is why they no longer serve the short rib egg rolls. That was to die for. So sad. read more

Too bad because the design and layout is great. Loud dance music playing out of the speakers while elderly patrons tried to dine made table conversations impossible. Love the ambiance of upscale restaurant meets local pub. Casual, yet elegant, quieter than before when BBC. Salad was fresh and lightly dressed, followed by a wonderful well prepared burger, best fries around - crispy, hot and tasted like potato, not old grease. Short ribs were melt in your mouth quality beef with no fat or heavy feel. Lightly seasoned over real mashed potatoes and broccoli rabe (did want a little more garlic here but still well done) Meals were nicely presented and served hot and fresh. The flourless cake came out on a board with a good chocolate sauce, blackberries and a light textured delicious cake. Portions were ample, without being over served. Good wine selection and loved the vanilla stout. Our server was wonderful, polite and checked in just enough. Can't wait to try something else on our next visit. Went to dinner on Saturday 4/29/23. They had an event of over 140 people. It was so loud we had to shout at our server to take our order. She could not hear us and we could not hear each other. We asked her what was going on and she said it was a retirement party of over 140 people. What a waist of $100.00. They should have closed the Restaurant down for the evening. They had no consideration for the customers that were not at the event. We ate half our dinner and had to leave because of the noice. Fireplace new decor Well, they fell short on all. The reviews above are a "lie" Theses owners owned this restaurant years ago. They know what their doing. What their doing is hoarding profits and not concentrating on quality, price and selection. My food was sent back (app), mixed drink had no garnish, no good selection of beer, desert was wrong garnish. Was supposed to have pear on the creme brûlée We revisited and same thing happened. Overall: over priced, poor desert selection (no home made chocolate cake), apps bland, mix drinks no garnish Beer selection was sub par. Further note: one side of the building is not painted the grey color. Piss poor neglect for a new restaurant. Step up and paint the south side. It's a sign of selfishness. Before I begin I really want to see this restaurant thrive as it's a welcome addition to the area. We arrived last night, 11/2 around 5:40 fully aware there would be a wait to be seated for dinner. We were a party of 4 and were told there was a 45 minute wait which we were fine with. We went to the bar area and had drinks while we waited to be seated. The 45 minutes had come and gone and we still weren't seated. Finally after waiting an hour and a half we were seated, around 7:15. The server came over and took our order, appetizers and dinner. After 45 minutes I asked the server how much longer the salads and chowder would take, she went back and checked on them and within 5 minutes they were served by the owner who apologized for the delay and comp'd the apps. We finished these and figured dinner would be out soon, but after being seated for over an hour still no food. I told the server that if the food wasn't out within 10 minutes to cancel the order and just bring the check for the drinks. To make a long story short we never received our meals after being in the restaurant for close to 3 hours overall. We left there just after 8:30 and went up the street to Mick Morgan's and had dinner within 20 minutes. Beacon has a lot of kinks to work out and I hope they do. Thank you to John who was working the bar and heard me telling my daughter about our experience. He came out from behind the bar and stopped us as we were leaving to discuss our experience and apologized for what we experienced. I was very clear to the owner and John that none of this was the fault of our server and I do hope they understand that. Unfortunately the servers take the brunt over things they can't control in the kitchen. We'll give them a bit of time to get these worked out before we return. read more

Stopped in for a drink to check the place out. Great draft list and friendly bartenders! Menu is small, but several intriguing options so I ordered the short rib egg rolls as a snack. They took a while to come, but were good. Rather small portion for the price though, just two egg rolls for $12.00. The cheeseboard (my normal go-to) was $18. Entrees were also priced high if their portions were similar to the apps/small plates. Final thoughts: I'll return and try them for dinner sometime soon despite the prices! read more

We just celebrated our granddaughter's first birthday upstairs in the function room. Between Donna and our bartender Dennis we couldn't have been treated any better, They we'd extremely pleasant and attentive. Also the area has been remodeled. We needed a place to eat while running an errand in Walpole and saw they list their GF menu online so we gave them a try. What a happy surprise! The food was delicious (I had the Statler chicken, my wife had the mussels appetizer as her meal and couldn't finish it). The service was great. Our waitress Kelly W was perfect. She was very attentive but not intrusive. Instead of a practical meal while out, it turned into a memorably pleasant evening. We'll definitely make a point of going back. Went to Mother's Day Brunch. $45 per person to wait in line for barely warm food put out on the end of the bar. Even coffee and tea was self service. The only thing the waitress did was take an order for 2 drinks and a glass of water, bring them. Then bring over a bill and the thing to sign afterwards. They actually hit us for a 20% service charge for having a large party, 4 people! My kids paid for it but that was a good $40 tip not bad for a buffet. read more

What type of establishment steals from a family at their Mother's funeral lunch? Only such horrific behavior would have me writing this review. Originally, I thought Beacons Restaurant may have made an honest mistake, but after trying to right this wrong for over a month, I can only conclude the thievery was intentional. Why else would Beacons Restaurant avoid all my attempts? I reserved a buffet luncheon for 30 people for Saturday 12/11/2021. That day, 29 people ate but I was charged for 37 diners. I should not have been charged for more than 30 diners. I trustingly signed the credit card bill for over $2,000 while not paying attention, it was after all the day of my mother's funeral. On Monday I called the function manager to discuss the inflated food charges, he said the owner counted 37 diners and therefore I had to speak to the owner. The following Friday, my cousin and I went to Beacons Restaurant hoping to speak to the owner but he was not available. We explained to the function manager that we had with us the list of 29 diners. We explained 4 additional people may have accidentally been counted but there was never 37 people there. My sister counted as the 30th attendee and did not eat but I had no issue with paying for 30 people so that did not matter. Two cousins dropped in for a drink from the open bar and left. My Mom's hospice nurse stopped in to give her condolences without having had food or beverage. There were 29 diners and 4 visitors for a total of 33, not 37. The function manager said he would have the owner call me. Not only did that not happen, my many follow up calls were not returned. I would have given a good review for the food and wait staff, but why suggest anyone frequent a place that takes advantage of a sad situation and makes it worse with thievery? read more

My husband and I went to Beacons last night for dinner. We sat at the bar and all of the bartenders were very attentive. The drinks were made well and their cocktail list had some out of the box choices. When we ordered our appetizer, short rib eggroll, it was delish and came out SO fast! We waited a little while before ordering dinner and just watched the restaurant and bar full up with people having a great time. When we did order dinner, short rib dinner and rigatoni bolognese, again it came out very quickly especially considering how busy the restaurant was and there was a private party going on upstairs. Headed home late Sunday afternoon with my sister and son, we dismissed one "mediocre" restaurant after another on Rt. 1, and decided to give Beacons a try. I'm always leery of Sundays, figuring the A team has the day off. We were pleasantly surprised. Excellent and attentive service from Meagan, our waitress, and the specialty cocktails, rather than being a random hodgepodge of ingredients, were extremely well crafted; we didn't get the bartender's name, but he knew what he was doing. We had simple fare done right. I just had the sausage spinach pizza, which had a nice balance of flavors, and the crust tender, and crispy both. Sis had a burger which she pronounced perfect, and made with good quality beef. My fussy son had the short rib sandwich, which wasn't short on size, and devoured it. Keep it up, and we'll be back. This was a horrendous experience. They said 25 min wait which turned into 45 minutes. The server took 20 mins just to take down our drink order because for some reason the manager had her doing like 12 other tables. The manager kept saying 5 more mins and never apologized. It took an hour and fifteen mins to get our food. My girlfriends salmon was way over done and my mushroom ravioli was sitting in water. I will never go back there again. read more

The fries are great, fish and chips and short ribs were good, the pizza was ok, the steak tips were not marinated or seasoned, the burger was a charcoal briquette, and the poke bowl was all rice. There are only four steak tips per plate. About 3-4 oz of meat. Won't be going back here. Gave it two stars because there was a few good food items. Went here on Saturday night, January 25 and the food was horrible. I got the chicken parm and the breaded chicken cutlet was burned beyond repair and the sauce tasted like tin. My friend got the pork chop (which was good) but the roasted cauliflower/sweet potato hash was awful. Worse than the food was when one of the manager's named John started yelling at one of the waitresses in front of all of the customers. This place is quite expensive and for the quality of the meal and the behavior of this particular manager, John, I would not go back to this restaurant. read more
