Any stars because there is a selection BUT I will be buying from my place in Austin & supporting my friends there...they don't mind when I spend time going through Selections to build collections for Boutiques & Pop Ups in Dallas & Austin areas. So disappointed-I have spent at a minimum $25,000 between this store and another bead store on Harry Hines over the last couple years {I unloaded $8000. in 3 days 2012 in there for instance}...but no customer appreciation for me despite my purchases of $100-$300 every time I walked into the store this last year. I understand theft is an issue-I hate thieves too because guess who ends up paying for them, me, when I purchase at inflated cost to absorb theft costs, so, it would be nice if I were not treated so rudely. I made the mistake of requesting strands being pulled from the hooks up high and literally was scoffed at-I got the audible response by the way, along with the eye roll. Did I mention I made a purchase earlier then drive all the way across town from Plano to get some stones I wanted and this was the response. So, seems like the customer needs them more than they need us. Sad. Ps. I was looking to buy a couple strands that were by weight and the owner let me know if she separated them from the main rubber banded set of 3-4, I would have to pay an extra .50 if I didn't buy the strand. I was so overcome with emotion of frustration:I had come by after a very long day of Dr appts and run back and forth across town to pick up a check from a business I sell in, JUST to come back & make the purchases...she was rude on top of that. I have no idea why. I purchased everything I pulled apart and I grabbed a strand that wasn't attached. I have been making jewelry for a couple years and feel confident I too can wrap those strands back up in a rubber band if that's what they needed. I am a mindful shopper and put items back where they belong...I just was taking a long time going over the stones while still attached to & ON THEIR RESPECTIVE STRAND BUNCHES by separating/fanning them apart on the trays so I could actually examine the stones. I put out several jewelry collections through out the year, and was trying to make purchases for Collections featured in several Boutiques in Austin and Dallas area. I am going into detail because I am so disappointed, I honestly do not and cannot understand what I was dealing with-it's unreal. If I have told you to shop here in the past because it was wonderful & nice, I may have been mistaken because that was not my experience. read more

Terrible customer service !!! When I walked through the door no one said hello but immediately they started watching me and following me around the store, never asking if I needed help! The strangest part is that I was the only person of color in the store and I was under surveillance I'm a jewelry designer here in DALLAS and I will never spend another penny in this place !! read more

My father and mother shopped for beads here for many years. He'd come in and spend a couple of hours patiently choosing what he would use for his necklace/earring sets. Now my daughter comes in from New Orleans to do the same thing for her own jewelry-making business. We all love the store. It has a vast selection, good prices (now well-marked, as opposed to the older reviews), and large quantities of everything you could need for this kind of jewelry. The customer care in the store has been capable and quick. They've always been willing to answer questions or get down items from the higher racks. They have even gone back and brought out a chair for my 92 year old mother to sit in when she gets tired. The minimum sale of $50 is very reasonable for what is supposed to be a wholesale business. read more

RUDE! After noticing I had an item in my bag which did not belong to me, I was loudly and rudely chastised in front of the other customers for not discovering it sooner. I had to demand a refund of the mystery item and she made another obnoxious scene about my request to recount the beads she'd charged me for . . . This time, she'd added 'extra' strands and then tried to argue that was what I'd asked for . . . NOT! Even the ladies in line were raising their eyebrows and patting me on the shoulder for tolerating her tirade. The only reason I didn't walk out was to insure my refund had been confirmed. STAY AWAY - a place like this doesn't deserve to be in business. read more

I walked into Beads on Beads planning on shopping for beads. Before I took a few steps the woman at the front desk hollered across the store that I must leave my purse at the front in the lockers. I said I wouldn't leave my purse, so she said I must leave. So, I left and went to 4 other bead stores in the area. It appears they think anyone walking into their store is a thief and treats them as such. I spent a lot on beads today, but not in her store. And, I got to keep my purse with me. read more

This bead store is well laid out and organized, and has a very good selection of glass beads in various shapes and colors. However, they do not price their items. Except for a few of their stone bead strands, you must ask the price of every item. At the checkout, there may be a long line of people who have gathered up beads and are now asking the prices and deciding what they want to buy. We asked if they have plans to add prices, and they said no, they like it this way. read more

This must be the biggest bead store I've ever seen. They have a wide selection of beads at great prices. I wanted to buy some pearls to make necklaces for the bridesmaids at my wedding and they helped me match the colors and sizes I needed. They have lovely merchandise, but I cannot afford to purchase $50 worth of beads at one time. I would think that a minimum purchase of $10 or $20 would be adequate for profit, especially if they just accepted cash on purchases below $50. The associates at the store seemed stressed and unhappy. Maybe they need more help. I've been to this store many times and have always felt I was more of an inconvenience to the employees than a customer they appreciate. Very few items have prices, you just have to trust the lady at the counter who just knows the price of everything. I was in the area yesterday and popped in, apparently effective Sept 2016 you have to spend at least $50 in their store or they will not sell to you. (I was the only customer in the store and was still turned away) This is very bad bussiness in my opinion!! I do not always need $50 worth but sometimes I need $200, but because of the lack of appreciation for their customers I will now not go back in no matter how much I need to buy. Far to many other options for my beading needs online or even right there near them! I did stop into queen beads after being turned away from beads on beads, the ladies at queen beads where so friendly and helpful, greeted me as I walked in to tell me about their sales, helped with my questions. Queen beads will now get those $200 trips along with the smaller $30 I spent yesterday.
