I was a bit perturbed at not being welcomed when I came in today (October 17, 2025) and another I walked by who made eye contact with me said nothing, but shortly thereafter, three other employees came up to me, smiling asking if I needed assistance. I like most of their clothes, but I simply didn't see anything I was dying to have. At one point, I grabbed a boot jack which I desperately need, especially as I get older. Lol. A young staff member walked up to me and said, "Just to let you know, that's actually $29.99 not $19.99." She was re-labeling them as we spoke. That's precisely why I knocked off a star.

We were having trouble finding the black label Cinch jeans as well as the right fit for a particular sportcoat. Two different staff members assisted us. I am unaware of the young lady's name as she came off as very modest, giving sales credit to the young man, Kash, who also helped us. (Very cool that Kash was named after Johnny Cash.) My SO wasn't satisfied with the cowboy hat selections, so we went elsewhere for that. Overall, this place has good Western wear selections at prices that are not completely outrageous.

Took hat to Cavender's, they steamed and creased it for free but I did tip the guy at the hat steamer $10 for his courtesy. Will buy my next one or other Western apparel from them from now on!!!!! My Justin roper boots were priced fairly reasonably and fit well, but could of got them, my hat, & hat band at Cavenders for the same or less price & not have to wait a week+ for it to come in from Dallas. He introduced his self by his name & with a handshake. Super rare now-a-days but very good etiquette & professionalism in my opinion. I found several boots that interested me and eventually went over 3 pairs to see which one I would like best. He retrieved every boot in my size and asked if there were any others I would like to look at. He really went above and beyond to accommodate my search for the perfect pair. Elyan was also dressed to par and spoke with manners which is a huge plus in my book. All in all, I had a great experience coming here. I will keep coming to this Boot Barn because of the great products and the amazing service this store provided me in the short period of time I was there. Super satisfied and would definitely recommend anyone looking for western boots & clothes. Ask for Elyan if you make it. He wont disappoint.

Nothing ruins a shopping experience faster than commission-driven scavenger sales tactics…read more I walked into the store intending to buy a pair of boots. Not a single salesperson offered assistance while I browsed. I found a pair on my own, tried them on, and selected the boots I wanted without any help from the staff. As I was walking to the register with the boots in hand, a salesperson suddenly appeared and asked whether anyone had helped me. I told him no. He then followed me to the register, wrote something down on a yellow pad, removed a few stickers from the boots, and walked away. When I asked the cashier what that was about, she explained that he was claiming credit for the sale. Credit for what, exactly? He provided no assistance, answered no questions, made no recommendations, and played no role in my purchase decision. Yet he still wanted commission credit for a sale he had absolutely nothing to do with. Honestly, I should have canceled the purchase on the spot. The only reason I completed the transaction was because I needed the boots for an event that day. The entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth. There are plenty of western wear stores that value customer service and earn their sales honestly. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to Cavender's.

We got to Cavender's and I knew right away he would find the one... There were two options. The first he liked, but didn't love for about $250. The second he loved and ended up getting for about $477 (including tax). I say get what you love and look better for it because cowboy hats are sacred. (Listen to Chris Ledoux's "This Cowboy's Hat.) Austin was our patient and soft-spoken hat shaper. I'll be back to check out Anderson Bean boots for myself. I made some notes based on our female cashier's recommendations for better fitting boots for my platypus-foot 10-year-old daughter. Lol. (But she really does have wide feet.)

It's not like there are a ton of shopping choices in Hobbs, America…read more Kountry Korral Boutique was around when I lived in this Southeastern New Mexico town many years ago, and it's still surviving the ups and downs of the oil and gas economy that Hobbs depends on as well as COVID-19. I miss the Tea Room that once was next door, but now it is a different cafe... Outlaw Grill or something. My uncle really enjoyed his ginormous, overpriced green chile burger there recently. I haven't partaken, but back to the boutique... This place offers baby and wedding registries. Many of the items are fairly unique. The clothes, in my humble opinion, are simply overpriced and more geared to more mature ladies. ;) Definitely not my styles or fit. The staff members always have the place open! They rarely IF AT ALL close to set up for Christmas debuts like *cough cough* another place *Horsefeathers* did when I was mostly recently shopping (10/28/20). That's why they get my full 5 star love. TIPS + love their little lotions by "Camille" (tiny jar $1.50)... rare that I see my middle name on anything let alone boutique items + they have GOOD aromatherapy roll-ons ($12 each)! #ThankYouThursday
