Today around 6 I stopped by Beaty's as I always do on Fridays to find some perfect shoes. Today I was trying to find some for an upcoming vacation. I found a pair I really loved, but was confused about the European sizes. My phone was dead so I ask the associates working, "Kendall and Monica" if they would be so kind to search their phone for me so I could find out if I was purchasing the correct size or what size I may need! They were so kind and willing to help me! I ended up purchasing 5 different pairs of shoes. I would have not been able to make my purchase without their help. I'm so grateful they went above and beyond with their willingness to help me! Thank you Beaty's for not only having an amazing show selection, but also for having employees that are willing to go the extra mile to ensure their customers are happy and able to find what they need! Seriously good prices! This store is so sensible. You find your section - men's or women's or kids. You find your size - very easy. And then you shop, shop, shop. bought a pair of oofos on friday. wore appx 2-3 hours on Saturday morning. was walking thru my house and side strap completely broke in two. Husband returned to store with receipt. refused to take back because they had been worn. manager came and said they were dirty on bottom so they wouldn't take them back. i think he missed the point. they were obviously defective or something. i did nothing but walk in them. outside so yes they were dirty on the bottom. would never shop there again. shoes could be defective or seconds or previously worn. i completely understand their return policy but i had these shoes leas than 24 hours. very poor customer service. read more

I can't believe no one has reviewed this place! Oh man, it is fantastic. Designer shoes and handbags at incredible prices. They sell all the big names: DKNY, Anne Klein, Jessica Simpson, Carlos Santana, Franco Sarto, Nine West, New Balance, Nike... and the list goes on and on. From what I have heard, these shoes have been worn a time or two for modeling (this is hearsay, I have NO confirmation of this) and then have ended up in the store for you to purchase. Most of the shoes I have purchased here have cost $20-$30. They have everything from flip flops to stilettos, fashion boots to work boots to running shoes. I love to come here if I'm looking for a very specific, perhaps off the wall kind of shoe- like a bright blue stilletto sandal to match a skirt I bought or something I may not have luck finding in a department store. Something else unique about this place, they only carry 1-2 pairs of each type of shoe in a given size. If you find something you love in a size 7, that may be the only pair in the store. If it doesn't fit, you may not be able to find it in a different size. They have some nice men's shoes as well, and they get a handful of pairs in really big sizes (my brother wears a 17, so I keep an eye out for him). They also sell some heavy duty work boots and steel toed rubber boots for those who may be looking for something they can get dirty. Handbags: I got my favorite purse ever here for $40 (on sale from 70) and when I took it out to the car and opened it up, I found the department store price on the inside pocket which said "Sale price, $298". I about wet my pants, because I'd never even heard of the designer before, I just loved the bag. Like I said, unbeatable prices. In case you can't tell, I love Beaty's. Like shoes? Like boots? Like deals? You'll dig this place. It's all about timing. If you come one week and find 19 pairs of shoes you want, you might come back next week and find most of them gone. As others noted, you can score some serious deals here. You can also just find some cool shoes when you're in need because you just trashed yours or they fell into the lake or whatever. You can get into a time warp I here, especially if Wifey is with you. Like an Al Bundy nightmare. But, I don't have much room to talk since I like shoes too. This place is fantastic! For $30, I got a pair of pristine red suede Clark's wedges that are still in stores for $95. Be mindful that some of the shoes do have signs of wear, but many have never been worn. Evidently they purchase returns from major department stores in bulk and resell them. In this economy, I think most folks are looking for bargains and ways to stretch their dollars. Some of us still want to buy what we want, i.e., designer, name brand, etc., but need to find them at bargain prices. Beaty Shoe Warehouse does this. Their store was very nicely laid out, brightly lit, clean and organized. It was a very pleasant shopping experience. Their stock appears to be liquidation stock from the Federated Group (i.e. Macy's, Dillards, etc.), consisting of shelf pulls, returns, display, etc. Some of the shoes have been pre-owned, but they clean them up very nicely and it's hard to tell on most of the shoes which ones are actually second-hand. The prices are very reasonable on men's, women's and children's shoes. I spied a pair of Stuart Weitzman pumps for $29.99. They carry a fairly broad range of name brand shoes including, Nine West, Jessica Simpson, Steve Madden, New Balance. I didn't see any high end luxury designer brands, (Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Prada, Gucci, etc.), but they are catering to a more mainstream demographic. All in all, if you love name brand designer shoes, but need to watch your pennies, Beaty Shoe Warehouse is a fabulous place for shoes at bargain prices. read more

Only one star because zero stars in not an option. These people sold me some shoes and said all sales final so naturally I throw the receipt away. Get the shoes home and they're two different sizes. :( Seriously. I call back and the manager TAMMY says that they sell mismatched shoes (REALLY?!) but the cashier has to tell me they're mismatched before I buy them. She didn't, else I wouldn't have paid even $1 for them. She then said without the receipt there is no way to check the camera to make sure what the cashier told me... Yeah so no refund. Not joking. First of all why are they selling mismatched shoes??? Who buys mismatched shoes? They are not accountable for their own sales and they will not tell you the shoes aren't a pair but they will sell them to you without you knowing it and make sure to tell you all sales are final so you have no reason to keep the receipt which is necessary to get the camera footage to prove the cashier didn't tell you they were two different shoes. This is not a joke. Buyer beware because they will not tell you they don't match and you will be stuck with a worthless (I would say pair but they would have to match to be a pair) SET of shoes that they will not take back. I've done better at yard sales and these people dishonest crooks. Hope your happy with this review and that it was worth it to not refund my $25 and take back your unpaired shoes. This was my first time in Beatys shoes, I was excited at first bc I have heard good things about it. So I go in and start wondering around the store till I found my size and just started looking, I was waiting on someone to at least GREET ME or ASK if I needed ANY HELP! Well I was never even acknowledged at all or much less asked if I needed any help. So I just started trying shoes I liked and then I realized I was being acknowledged bit it was by stares and glances at me still never a hello or help but a few whispers. At this time I still had no idea who were employees or customers. Except customers would ring the bell after they got tired of waiting to be checked out. So I found pair of shoes I liked and wanted to buy and take them to counter when employee was there and tried to pay with my card as credit which had my maiden name on it she said she couldn't take it bc name was different only debit. So I had my old ss card with Nadine's name on it and copy of my marriage license on my phone and she was very rude about it. Well I was charged on the first card "they couldn't take" and haven't got the credit back yet either. This is one of the worse customer service experience I have seen in along time. I will not go back and I will advise my friends and family how rude and horrible the service was also. read more

I CANT BELIEVE I'VE BEEN GOING TO JOHNSON CITY MY ENTIRE LIFE AND NEVER KNEW ABOUT BEATY'S. $400+ Donald Pliner Couture and Stuart Weitzman's for $35. Seriously, $150 New Balances for $40. There are no boxes and no department store service (but the staff is very friendly) , and occasionally you can tell a pair has been re-worked, but overwhelmingly these are brand-spanking-new shoes sold in a TJ Maxx/ Nordstrom Rack model where if they have it, its out on the floor and its up to you to find it. It is the best kept secret. I love this shop with all my heart. I have not been able to buy shoes any where else since leaving Johnson City. It is a shoes lover's dream-come-true. You walk in there and your eyes pop. then when you see the prices, you literally pass out. I tell you, you find designer shoes that were originally $200-$500 going for $24.99!!!! Fricking unbelievable. The most expensive item I ever bought from that shop was a hand bag for $80- hold on...its original price tag was hanging there- $399. Oh, I miss that place. i used to go there so often I woke up one day and counted 180 pairs of shoes in my closet!!!!! I know, sounds terrible but I have no regrets. Every pair was a steal. So if you are ever in the Johnson City/ Kingsport area, please stop by Beaty's and get you a pair of shoes you can brag about.
