The stylist beside us was almost bumping into me because the stylists' workspaces are so small and crowded. Plus, a man getting a haircut with the barber was literally facing straight at me -- awkward!!!! The new space feels unfinished, deenergizing and sterile. I'm sorry but I can not stand that passerbys in the mall can see me in my unkept state due to the two large panes of uncovering windows. Couldn't there at least be frosting on the windows for privacy? Sadly, I would not go there if it weren't for Tifini. For the cost of services, the environment should be MUCH better. Their new facility is crowded and noisy and not the least bit inviting. It's windows are also open to the mall and clients feel like they're in a fishbowl. The plan was to go to the stylist's house because her salon wasn't going to be open on July 1, and we could save a bit of money. It all sounded perfect, until the stylist cancelled on us the day before our appointment!!! After phoning a few mall salons and finding out they didn't open until 11 or 12 am, my friend tried Pure Form, a salon that she used to go to but hadn't been in over a year. The receptionist remembered her and was very sympathetic to our situation. She asked around the salon and luckily a stylist volunteered to come in on her day off. We arrived at the salon and met Lindsay at 8 am on Sunday morning because we needed to be out of there by 10 am for wedding stuff. She was in a great mood and very friendly, especially considering the time :) Lindsay listened to what we wanted and encouraged us to speak up if the style was going somewhere we did not want it to go. She did an amazing job and we both left feeling fantastic. The styles stayed put for over 16 hours, through photos in the heat and lots of dancing. They always call to confirm appointments a few days before your scheduled appointment which I really enjoy because when my schedule fluctuates it gives me an opportunity to reschedule. It was obvious that she was a student still learning how to cut hair. You could tell she did not want to do it and was rude and very unprofessional. When she asked me what I wanted I told her that I usually go for a number 2 for the sides and a 5-6 for the top length. She started looking for her supplies in her drawer and couldn't even find her comb and then she said that she only had a number 4 for the top and that's all she was going to be able to do. She did not have the proper supplies!! I said to use her own discretion thinking she was a professional but I promptly realized she didn't even know how to properly hold the sheers to cut the sides or even the trimmer, which I thought would not be difficult to manage. She used the number 4 and it was way too short and since she was holding it wrong (I could feel something weird happening on my hair but could not see it) she made me bold and completely ruined my hair. The sides are uneven, the top is completely bold, the front is too short and I honestly look like someone shaved my head but used different numbers for each side. I did not get her name but she was young, in her twenties, long brown curly hair, glasses and she said she was half Jamaican, half French, which she mentioned because she asked me if I was from Calgary and told her I was but that my parents were from Colombia. I usually don't write reviews like these but I was so horrified that I had to say something. I just cannot believe that they would charge me 37 dollars plus tip for completely ruining my hair prior to an important Christmas event I'm supposed to attend in a few days. The haircut is so bad that I'm actually thinking about not attending this event because I would have to wear a hat. Whatever you do, DO NOT go to this Chatters, the quality is absolutely terrible, the people that run it are unprofessional, not knowledgable at all, they were supposed to have 25% off but was still charged full price. There was no compassion or willingness to fix the issue and compensate me in one way or another, I just paid and left. I just wanted to get out of there and run as fast as I could! I'm going to let the photos I took speak for themselves. And I will most definitely be taking this along with my evidence to the Better Business Bureau to place a formal compliant against this business so they can issue a fine. I'm going to contact my bank and show them the evidence and stop payment on the $42 dollars (including a $4.50 tip) they charged me for a haircut that is going to ruin the rest of the year!

The hair stylists at Hair Booth are professional, super friendly, and go the extra mile to ensure me and my kids have a good experience. I enjoy the extra service they offer such as a head massage prior to the cut, which is so simple but relaxing. They treat you like family and the service is exceptional. The salon is very nice and clean...they even have a photo booth for their clients to use...which is unique. The staff are great and accommodating to my busy schedule. They fit me in last minute, which isn't easy to do when many of their stylist have a loyal following of clients. There are not a lot of good hair salons in the area and would definitely recommend others to try them out....you'll leave happy and satisfied. Thanks for the great service.

The first two visits were with Cassie, who is their junior stylist. Sweet girl, good stylist, room to grow :) I had my third appointment scheduled with Cassie for Sat April 21st at 10 am. Due to a scheduling conflict (I was climbing the bow building downtown for charity), I had to reschedule to 1 pm. As she wasn't available, I said I would be happy to take an appointment with whomever was available. Cassie promptly called to say she had a 3:15 available, which just didn't work with the rest of my days schedule. Thought that was perfectly acceptable. When I came in at 1, I brightly smiled at Cassie and said hello. The response was abrupt, and she wouldn't look at me. The stylist that did my hair Chrissy, snapped at me while I was trying to explain what I wanted done. She continued to speak highly of Cassie while being a tad unpleasant throughout the appointment. Wow. All over a rescheduled appointment. I was going to go back to Cassie for further appointments as I thought well of her personally and professionally, but feel that your salon doesn't deserve my $60 every 4-6 weeks. Best of luck.

I was for a few hours so I saw quite a few people filter in and out and all of them were regulars. the atmosphere was so welcoming, and in the end my hair was exactly how I wanted, and felt even healthier than before. My hairdresser Cassie, was so nice to me and told me everything she was doing to fix my hair to make sure I was comfortable with it. She was so nice and it was definitely a breath of fresh air to go to such a nice salon where they care about you hair and it's needs.
