On the way home from work, the lights were on so I popped in. These guys are open Tues to Fri late which is great. My wax was done quickly and efficiently. The salon was lovely and clean and quite often, they are able to offer walk-in appointments. It was £20 for a half leg wax (a tad expensive compared to what I normally pay) but a good job was done. I'll probably come here again and I'd like to try other treatments to see if they deserve my 5* rating :-)

This was a few months ago and it's now the only place I go to in Edinburgh for a facial, it's amazing the magic Hollie works with her creams and potions! Each facial is specifically targetted to your own skin type and particularly problems (we all have our own issues don't we ;-). The staff are all incredibly warm and welcoming with a personal touch so you feel special from the moment you walk in the door. I also have to say after getting a manicure there it was the longest lasting one I've ever had. I normally can chip a good polish within a few days but this one lasted two weeks without one chip, which makes it really good value. As mentioned in the other review the free parking outside is also a great bonus, they have regular special offers (follow them on twitter or facebook for regular updates on deals), and they have a loyalty card which means money off on future treatments. What's not to love about The Zone!

It's just that anywhere, absolutely anywhere, you go for a wax is not going to be a serene experience. It's going to involve biting your lips and wanting not to cry like a child who's been denied cookies. Except all you're being denied is the natural feeling of your legs, i.e. the feeling of not having all your hair yanked off you. But the people who work there are lovely and do try to make your experience serene. It's a hard profession, I'm sure. Being the one to inflict pain on people so that they feel more beautiful. Or hairless. Or however you want to call it. The official subtitle for this business is "beauty therapy." Which kind of makes me laugh, as it is not a therapeutic experience. Kudos to them for giving students a 10% discount, though! So if you fancy getting your legs waxed, I believe it should cost you 9 pounds. Which sounds about right to me. I've given up putting myself in that situation, though.

There are all sorts of treatments with wispy French of orientally exotic names that I feel add an extra ten pounds to the price! They also offer more conventional services such as hair removal, nail beautification (I hope that's the correct term) and massages, which I'm convincing myself I deserve at the moment. I will relent and say these other treatments are reasonably affordable. I did notice something on the price list which cracked me up; they won't go any further than a bikini wax.. so to spell it out, no brazilian, no tanga, hollywood etc. Either they classify all these under Bikini Wax, which makes it a steal price wise, or they quite understandably aren't interested in seeing peoples' hoohaas!

This is one of the few places I know that does crystal dermabrasion, this is where they blast tiny crystals onto your face and literally suck them off. The end product hoovered off looks like dust but is in fact dead skin. This is good for acne scarring and mild scars, pigmentation damage and fine wrinkles. It wasn't cheap, a course of ten treatments cost 300 pounds.

A much better time as they may be running or run late.

went here for wax once when the place i always went to got a bit too pricey…read more it's a nice place very tidy and clean etc but i wasn't feeling the customer service. for one the end cubicle is at a window and i know outside there is hedges and stuff but still it didnt make me feel totally at ease having the curtain pulled over would have been better. the treatment itself was okay, done properly etc but when you there laid bare so to speak and the beautican doing it doesn't interact with you at all not even in just friendly conversation it just makes it worse. was the longest 10 minutes ever and i was honestly glad when it was over and i could get out i just felt uneasy. safe to say i have never gone back. im not saying its always like this maybe the girl was just having a bad day and i know poeple who go to it for other treatments and say its great so maybe i just had caught them on an off day. go experience it for yourself.

Gel mani lasted 15 days until I soaked it off only because the growth was showing. Apart from that, one tiny chip day 9 or 10, zero peeling, almost no wear on the tips (and I chose a dark color!). I got loads of compliments on my nails. Mani itself was relaxing and pampering. Lovely hand massage, gentle but thorough cuticle care. Minx pedi lasted about the same but I removed it even though it still held up in great condition. They offer several options depending on how much time you have and how much pampering you'd like. If you have some time and the pounds to spare, you absolutely will get what you pay for here. Staff was super friendly and attentive. I definitely look forward to returning!

Sounds scary, but is painless, and does have visable results. My friend did her beautician training at college and I was always going in to be a volunteer, which was awesome, as I got to know about loads of different procedures I didn't even know existed. CACI treatments were probably my favourite, so I booked myself in for non surgical eye lift, to try and shift these 22 year old bags I seem to have acquired. The women in the salon were lovely and very friendly, and explained everything to me thoroughly. The treatment concentrated on the eye area, and included a hydrating facial treatment and non surgical face lift too. The treatment lasted about 35 minutes and cost £20. I could have opted for the package of 6 treatments for £100. I decided to wait and see how it went before I committed to the full course. I came out feeling quite tender around the eye area, but I noticed a nice, fresh faced difference the next day when I woke up, although nothing major. I opted out of the course as I felt it was too expensive, but would definitely have gone for it if I could have afforded it at the time.

The salon itself is part of a hairdressers, but it has its own space and room, complete with a bed and plenty of space to move around. It is decorated pink with lots of girly accents, the perfect environment for a pampering session! There are always deals and promotions running for special occasions, and packages for holidays and weddings are available on request. The salon also has a fake bake tanning booth, where you can get a faultless spray tan for only £15, much cheaper than anywhere else around here!

The actual pedicure was really lovely and so was the foot massage. But the french polish was extremely poor. The tips looked awful and uneven, even my husband who doesn't really notice many things like this commented on what a poor job had been done. For an extra 3 pounds at my usual place I could have had a much better finish. Not worth the price I paid at all and I will not be returning.
