Came for a facial. I picked Artepil as it's attached to a nicer condo building and prices were…read morereasonable. But, that's the extent of the nice things.
I came in the day before to make an appointment for the next day. They had a few price books and menus to review in both English and Spanish. At the time I made the appointment, I was asked to pay 100% for the facial. I didn't have my wallet with me, so after pushing back a bit, they said they would send a link to pay by credit card via WhatsApp. The link never came.
The day of the appointment I was checked in. No mention of payment (or lack of payment) which the day prior has been such a big deal.
The lady who did my facial was nice, but didn't speak during the entire process. The massage chair was very uncomfortable. During the facial the lady was unorganized and not prepared. She left a few times during the facial, she would drop things, and make a lot of excess noise. Facials are typically very relaxing for me. This one was rushed and I got the sense she wasn't experienced. For example, instead of massaging lotion on my face and neck, she would dab it with her fingers and then soon wipe it off.
The extraction process was painful and extreme. My face is generally clean and I do my own extractions. She dug in deep in every inch of my skin trying to find something that wasn't there.
My favorite part of a facial is when they massage your scalp, shoulders, and arms. This didn't happen. In the end she said "ok all done". Instead of the typical dazed, relaxed, peaceful state I'm in after a facial, I was left thinking "that's it???"
Recommendations: Train your staff on an effortless customer experience, train the people doing the work on how to properly do the work, be more professional.
If you've read this far, save yourself and go elsewhere. Artepil needs a lot of work and there are dozens of other high end spas in Puerto Vallarta.
