This is a very shady outfit. Our "brand new" home on the beach turned out to be an old dump in the swamp. We were in tears when we arrived. The rental agreement states "Beaver Island Realty or its agents make no representations as to the condition or quality of the homes or property." So you can't count on the listing to be accurate. How else are you supposed to obtain information on the property?! When you rent from them you are really taking a chance. They do not accept credit cards so there is no recourse. Beaver Island Realty rents several homes on the island. They don't seem to know anything about the properties they rent and take no responsibility for the condition of the home. There does not seem to be any standards set for the home. The house we rented was to have a queen size bed but it was a full size bed. There was to be twin beds in another room but it was kid bunk beds. We were told no pets but there was a dirty dog dish on the floor. The refrigerator was full other peoples things and spilled food. I had to clean it out before I could but my own things in. There was much more wrong but when we contacted the rental office they took no responsibility and put it all on the owner which we had no contact with. Would not rent from them again. read more
