I feel it's very important to update this review: Shortly before I went to see Becca, I had several seizures out of the blue and was on heavy medications - I was also in an abusive relationship that I was in immense denial about. The truth is that I wasn't ready to admit that she was right about the things she said. I logged into Yelp randomly today - It's been almost 2 years since I wrote that review and I had forgotten about it, and also never saw the response until today. I was immediately scared to read the reply, because I was expecting something that might hurt my feelings, especially considering how snide my original review was. But Becca, you were so kind in your reply and even asked how you could improve your approach, and I can't lie, it made me tear up a little. I was in a very bad place, and you immediately picked up on the emotional abuse I was experiencing. I wasn't ready to admit it, and I got scared when you wanted to address it, because we had "fixed things" between my first and second appointment. I spent another 2 years being taken advantage of before I got out. So for those reading, I encourage you to seek out Becca :) She would have saved me a lot of heartache! My bf and I started seeing Becca when I learned I would be attending a graduate program in another city for 3 years. I thought she would be a great person to help us figure out how to transition into a long-term long distance relationship. She spent the first session giving us an overview of how she treats, her expectations, background, etc. which I thought was immensely helpful as sessions began. It was nice to speak to someone around the same age, because she felt very relatable in that aspect (we are in our 30's). I liked that she could also give us personal examples regarding the relationship between her husband and her to drive points home. Becca is attentive, easy to talk to, and a very active listener. I contacted Mrs. McConnell for therapy for my teenage daughter as she was referred to me from a friend. She was able to get my daughter in for therapy within a reasonable amount of time. She also has great evening and weekend hours available to accommodate working adults/students. She is conveniently located off of major highways/interstate/toll roads. After a loss in my family, I started suffering lots of anxiety, mostly health anxiety, and I was sure I, and everyone around me was dying. I couldn't bare it any longer and sought help from Becca. I found her on Yelp, and just took a stab in the dark. She was close by and had an informative website, so I thought I'd give her a try. I had been taking anti-anxiety medication and it didn't seem to be working. After my first session I began to see a light at the end of the tunnel. I knew I could eventually find myself and be happy again. I have been in therapy with Becca for five months and feel like I have the tools to live a normal life without worrying about anything and everything. Becca has helped me understand what "stories" I'm telling myself and how to start telling myself different stories that will help me live a more worry-free life. She focuses on CBT, which I know has led to my rapid improvement. I no longer jump to the worst conclusion immediately, but have a more rational approach. I will continue seeing her until I feel confident in myself to continue upward. Becca has a calming effect, is very comforting, and is non-judgmental. If you want a faith-based approach, she is very skilled in working that into therapy. (If you'd prefer not to, she also accommodates that). She keeps track of everything that I've discussed in prior sessions and always remembers little things that I tell her.
